Hey Jan, Sorry I had to separate the seven pictures. These pictures are great, by the way. The one with the cow is my favorite, but I love them all.

I didn't realize a 'Balloon Festival' could be such fun. I think it looks like a lot more fun than an Air Show. Thanks for sharing the pics!

By the way Jan, sorry to hear you had a rough day yesterday, including that flat tire. Hope things get back to normal for you today. (It still feels like Monday to me)

Carol, This site has a very brief, very level headed description of orbs, taking in consideration that it could be a time warp. It looks at their interpretation from both sides. It also has picture examples with them, some of the ones that show faces in the orb.
ps I love the name of the place, as show in it's url address: 'angels ghosts'

"It is very intriguing that people are finding
faces inside of orbs. At first, one might think
this to be silly, but some of the orbs we have
received with facial features are astounding.
Orbs have been captured with human faces
and animal faces in them, as well. If that
wasn’t mind blowing enough, people have
also captured multiple faces, even crowds of
people within orbs that were photographed.
And what’s even more amazing are the orbs
we have seen containing buildings within
them. This has led some to believe that orbs
may just be some time of time warp". http://www.angelsghosts.com/orb_pictures_april_2007.html

oops, I link the wrong sections of the site on that last post. Should be:
http://http://www.angelsghosts.com/orbs.html

The more I click links on it, the more I find.

Anonymous said...

There must be a ghost here right now interfering with me. That last link doesn't work, for some reason. One more try (the 'orb' page:

Chloe, thanks for posting the pics. The descriptions don't exactly match - but hey, lets have a contest to match the descriptions with the picures. Thanks for your kind words about our flat tire. My day turned out ok - I had 2 appts cancelled and wound up with a pleasant afternoon - it was like a gift.

The balloon fiesta was lots of fun. I love watching the teams gas up their balloons - It is a thrill to watch this and then watch the balloon ascend, those in the balloon basket are so excited - I truly feel like a child just watching all of it.

I never have a desire to be inside a basket. I just like watching them have fun.

jan said...

Fascinating pictures of orbs. Now I want to go through all my pics to see if there are any orbs in my pics. I have never heard of this before.

jan said...

Chloe, thank you for posting all the links to pictures of orbs and other ghost pictures.

jan said...

Back to work

jan said...

Chloe, the descriptions do match if one works backward from the bottom picture.

Solar said...

Chloe,

Time warp is right again..I will email you something today, or tomorrow about it all..my thoughts...about Orbs...they are-our energy's when they leave us..I will see if its not to silly, or far out.....way out....but you are on the right track..and maybe a little wired like me....or those others ...remediable them..the capt's welcome aboard Mate...haha

Solar said...

Im you're ghost kiddo....

Solar said...

or should I say Gracie...HA!

Solar said...

remediable=remember...dang 2 way radios..

Carol said...

Chloe, off early because we had several nurses out so couldn't see too many patients today. I wasn't planning on sitting around and tapping my foot since I already spend most of my off time on the phone with that place.

I do think that some of the light circles that are seen in photos are likely light reflecting off dust or water droplets. Go back and look at the orb at the restaurant. It is not a perfect circle. It appears to have a raised border. That is a real orb. Digital cameras do not have these kind of flaws in the pictures.

I agree it is a form or energy, maybe a spirit of someone, that is traveling. Some people may have acquired the ability to do this when alive. On Coast to Coast they talk about this form of soul travel. It has a name but I can't think of it right now. I think that possibly mom figured this out just before dying. I watched her very carefully at that time and she was in a transition. She was focused somewhere but not here.

Maybe others can do this after they have left this world. Could be some kind of parallel universe? No one knows the answer to these questions so our explanations are as good as any.

These orbs are also in constant motion, if you take several pics from the same place, close together, you may see them in different places or not at all. My BIL took three pics of my sisters and I and only one had this orb.

It is true that once you start looking for this phenomena it will appear more often.

Carol said...

What is weird is that I never saw any of this phenomena in my pics before I went with the ghost hunting group and before my mom died. They were all over her house for a week or two then nada. Knowing mom, she picked up a few spirit buddies to come over and visit with us. She was like that. We had all the fly together for the week after she died because we didn't have her memorial service for a week.

A month later I took some pics at my neighbor buddie's house right after his funeral. He died of cancer a month after mom. I caught one orb at his house in his favorite room, the living room. He was like that. More of a solitary individual.

Carol said...

Maybe even one can travel like this in their dreams??? You watch out there Solar. Don't go scaring Chloe one night.

Carol said...

I went back to my resaurant pic and found several more tiny orbs that I hadn't noticed. That is one one on my forehead also. I never noticed it before. The other pics didn't have any. If it were some moisture or dust in the place, those orbs would have been in all three photos taken in sequence.

Anonymous said...

Ha Carol, I could never be afraid of Solar.
Carol, I'm glad that you're exploring this stuff here on your site. It'll give you and the rest of us a chance to work our way through some new ideas. I would imagine that when someone is ill, near death, that they stream in and out of some alternate consciousness. So nothing would surprise me.

Like I said before, I agree with you about seeing things only when you're open to them. That would explain why you didn't notice the orbs at first. And I imagine if I asked if you felt your mom's presence there that night, you might say yes.

I'm looking forward to Ivy coming in today and possibly answering your question to her (which I'm not exactly positive about what that question was though).

Anonymous said...

Jan, I'm so sorry the pictures weren't in order. I was sitting in the doctors office waiting to see him (since they won't refill your prescriptions, unless you go in there once a year )and that's where I did the uploading, etc. I had to send the pictures to my desktop, in order to upload them to the site, and I should have been thinking about the arrangement being upside down. Carol's better at this stuff than I am.

I must add: I thought your pictures were amazing Jan. Thanks for sharing them.

Oh boy, My hummers are drinking down the nectar fast again. WooHoo!
I'm getting them ready for their trip from Texas Carol. You just keep sending them my way, will ya.

Anonymous said...

Solar, What you said is so cool. My ghost now has a name (ha! I knew you were an angel!). Thanks Solar. (yes, please send me the time warp stuff - or link it here?)

Anonymous said...

Jan, MG, Thank you for emailing those school bus picture! Would you mind if I post them here in a couple of days? The contrast of Japan vs. India is striking, to say the least. I'll see if I can find anymore info. on it too.

Coreen said...

Still at my office, but stopped by.

Great photos---love the cow.

Thanks, Jan for taking them, & thanks Chloe
for posting them.

I'm still checking on you guys, but still have
work to do.

Carol said...

Oh BTW Jan, I loved your balloon photos. They are great. They are great pics. Haven't seen the school bus pics yet.

Thanks Chloe for putting up also. I didn't want Jan to have to wait until I got to it.

Solar said...

Carol,

I agree with Chlo, and that she is on the right track; and now you also: To me it is defined another dimension. There are several and all not connected imo..

Over at tm when we were having these kind of conversations, and my believes that we are all just one, all just a part of what make the whole Universe. and just star materials and stars ourselves, and therefor contain the same types of energy.

In other dimensions, other parallel universe's (not sure about these) and the biggest factor that is the most important TIME...that I made quite a few post about...

We talked about this when Patsi, shared with us about the time that she felt the energy pass from her Father, and my friend Bill..and others...

Now where does that energy go when we pass...I think to northern dimension, that is one of many..and collect all of the energy in an atom type of way..so small that it is collecting for the next big bang..(go head a laugh now) because that is how it all began, and will start all over again..Time at this point of nothingness is like a light switch..off and on...so is it when we pass on...your orbs is in a very close position to be felt, seen, and recorded (maybe-this I have doubt of) but I do believe in them...

If it were in another parallel universe, the same energy would be there, but we could also say in that universe, that we don't exist and your mother does...huh??? lots of things come to mind..from what I have read, and taped from the sciences shows, sites and Mags...

I find it very interesting that Chloe found that site..I lost it before, and have not thought about it for a while...but there, and the science site will change your mind about a lot of things...String Theory is a favorite read, and still not 100% proven...but will be in Time...

Time is the one factor that is the most thing studied since the brain evolved into thinking on its own...and gave us the nervous system that other living things don't have....

These things lead the evolution of emotions, and what feeling..that followed....we have only two emotions, or feeling...Joy or Sorrow...they vary in magnitude some where in between...

The big bang, and the beginner of it all, was energy that created time..and the beginning of evolution, our evolution came much later...more but I have not put the time that I should have to make this rant---more coherent....and im putting this on the board before i refresh/or loose it..have not seen past Carols original comment..

Carol said...

Yes Coreen, you'd better not go too far. I think you have a little bet to pay up on and we're holding our breaths with anticipation of your pics.

Carol said...

Keep pondering Solar. I like it. We still have a lot of things to ponder out and I just love it.

Solar said...

Jan,

My apology, I love all of those pic..and can take a little daydream ride on the Cow...right over the moon HA' but there is a lot of fun going on there...another rich-mans sport..but at least we can watch, and get a feel for it....thanks

Carol said...

We do have a good group of ponderers here. More may decide to join us. If it is meant to be, it will happen.

Anonymous said...

"To me it is defined another dimension."

Now that (dimensions, parallel universes), is something I would find very interesting; know very little about it, but would be very interested in finding out more. My mind is open. (see Carol, I can open my mind :)

That all important factor of 'TIME' that you mention Solar, is really hard for me to wrap my mind around. I've tried before, and I always come up blank.

What you said about where energy goes, I don't know. Seems to me it would stay here, and go into new life.

Solar, You need to give us some links to the sites you're talking about too, regarding string theory, etc. I need my reading assignments... and I mean that seriously. It would be kinda like a 'book club' here.

Solar said...

You guys were starting to fly around like those balloons and I had to land ya...not that Im right about it..but there has to be a start of something, just believing in it..is not enough...or it will be like religion....belief = fervent hope...ok Chloe..go head and take it apart...but there is probably a lot that I have glossed over...when/now that all of sciences are working (sharing info-fast computer) together there it is all cumming together for me...and have no doubts about most things...just how they came to be....remember, my need to understand is what drives me...

Well I left some post over at tm, all, with mistakes..not good to post with the radios and phones going all at the same time...

Anonymous said...

"If it is meant to be, it will happen."

.. but if it doesn't happen, we're doing just fine too. (But I'm 'always' open to and look forward to change. Undoubtedly, we will evolve.)

Carol, Don't scare Coreen off by making her feel obligated. She's a busy lady, and I'm just happy to have her visit us whenever she can. Coreen, come as you are!

Solar said...

coming together that is.....

Carol said...

Some of that stuff is way beyond what my little mind can comprehend. Sting theory. Does that explain how I should rethread my fishing reel? If not, then it is above my head.

That quantum psychics is interesting but way up there high in the clouds above my head.

Anonymous said...

Who, me Solar? Take something apart. Never!

Carol said...

No pressure Coreen. Don't worry. You have 2-3 weeks, OK?

Anonymous said...

...I am open minded during certain times in my life, and I can feel one of those periods of time coming on. I open my mind, and try on new ideas to see how they fit, mull over it a while, then make my decision to hold on to as much as I think is believable. Sometimes these periods of change and openness go on for months, so I'm all ears guys.

Solar said...

Coreen, come as you are...but get as weird as we/I am...the twilight zone, had several home addresses for me.....:-))OH, and you know who also.hhaha I kill my self sometimes....but she knows when Im kidding, or not (not all the time)

Anonymous said...

"You have 2-3 weeks, OK?"

LOL Carol, Well, that's a beginning.

Anonymous said...

Twilight Zone or Cuckoo's nest, one or the other. It must be, because I get dizzy sometimes, when I'm here. Carol, you may have to medicate me. But, 'Generic drugs' only, that's all I can afford.

Carol said...

You want to here something a little silly? I didn't have any nice dresses to wear to mom's memorial service so my neice went with me to go get a new dress. I bought two. I didn't know which one to wear so I hung the two up on the mantle of the fireplace at mom's house. I asked her if she had any preference. I took a pic of the two dresses. The orb showed up exactly between the two. She couldn't choose either.

Anonymous said...

"I love all of those pic..and can take a little daydream ride on the Cow...right over the moon HA"

... that's one way to get there Solar.

Anonymous said...

"She couldn't choose either."

I don't think she 'couldn't Carol. I think she just wanted 'you' to decide. I bet she always had a lot of faith in you, huh?

Carol said...

I just went back and looked at that pic. That orb was closer to the dress that was more of mom's taste in dresses and less mine. It is the one I wore.

Solar said...

See Carol,

Thats what I mean. I do believe in you orbs...but some of it is mental..but I know that it wasn't serious.

Chloe...I like talking about the mind...what I understand-anyway...did you know that it triggers some of the natural hallucinogenics ?( hope I said that right) (chemicals) that we have in our bodies..this is another way to protect the organism, (us-the self)...some of the things that happen are not so much free will...

Anonymous said...

"some of the things that happen are not so much free will..."

Aha! You had to slip that in there, didn't you Solar. :)

Solar, You know darn well what my answer to that is, don't ya.

Carol said...

Now if you want to see the dress pic, I added it to the end of the Harry post. You can see which dress the orb picked.

You can go in and add things to a post after it is posted.

Anonymous said...

Solar, When you say protect the organism, I keep thinking that what you're talking about is 'defense mechanisms'. Am I right? If so, these are things we come up with (do) in order to protect ourselves from things that may shatter our belief system.

It's kind of hard to know if we're thinking, and therefore talking about, the same thing.

Now you know how strongly I believe in 'free will'. That doesn't mean that I think we use it all the time, but I do think it's available to us. We're capable of going against our nature, if we want to bad enough. It all depends on the reward that's out there, if we do.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah Carol. I see what you mean.
I had to smile, because the dress on the left is 'so much' more 'you'. But I also could see the orb closer to the one on the right.

Carol said...

Well actually Chloe, the dress on the left is much more my neice, I'm more of a blue jean girl. That dress has never been worn. It is still hanging in my closet with the tag on it. It is not much of a fishing or hiking dress.

Carol said...

Ivy gonna be mad at me for effing with the spirits but Ivy, I'm haven't done any effing in a long time now. I just needed some advice at that time.

Anonymous said...

"Chloe...I like talking about the mind...what I understand-anyway...did you know that it triggers some of the natural hallucinogenics ?( hope I said that right) (chemicals) that we have in our bodies..this is another way to protect the organism, (us-the self)."

Ok, You're right about our thoughts being directed by the chemicals our brains produce, therefore I think you're talking about the brain chemicals like endorphins, serotonin and adrenaline (right?). But our thoughts also affect the amounts of those chemicals we produce. So, there we go in a circle again.

Solar said...

Chlo

I went away for a few minuets, and will catch up again,,,but I knew that you would not let that little comment slip by you...Man do I love to tease you...

Anonymous said...

Carol, I didn't mean you'd wear a dress, unless you felt you had too. But if you did have to wear a dress, it just looked more like you.

I live the same type of life that you do, so I didn't picture you running around in that dress, fishing or gardening. Although I will occasionally wear a sun dress or skirt out and about during the summer. Not often though.

Solar said...

The angel comment was nice...

Anonymous said...

I still say you tried to slip that by me Solar. Don't deny it.

Anonymous said...

Well, I was just thinking about the 'Guardian Angel' I used to have, and I would have wanted him to be just like you, if I could have met him in person

Anonymous said...

I think I'd better leave for a while.
I'm hitting sensory overload.

Carol said...

Why isn't your guardian angel around anymore Chloe?

Anonymous said...

I guess I retired him Carol. I don't know.
Maybe I just didn't need him as much any more.

Solar said...

Chlo,

Yes, and I do think the same..we do have free will, and not all controlled by our mind...tho I do think that the will is more about appetites.....and yes that's why im not willing to always talk about these things...get a little confusing..but for you..don't looking like I don't have one...:-))

Anonymous said...

"I do think that the will is more about appetites."

Pain vs Pleasure, and everything in between Solar. When I said it 'depends on the reward', that's what I meant, exactly what you're saying.

Carol said...

We can always use an angel or two or three. I think all my past pups and kitnics that have moved up, have become some of my angels.

Solar said...

I don't mind looking like I don't have one that is...or for Carol, or this blog..why am I here???

Anonymous said...

Wow, that's really beautiful Carol. Where could you possibly find a better angel, than in one of those beautiful little animals.

You're right, the more angels the better.
I just don't particularly like crowds though. I'd rather focus in on one interesting person, than a roomful of people that aren't interesting.

Anonymous said...

Have one what Solar?

Anonymous said...

Are you really asking why your are here?
You're here, because you're 'supposed' to be here.

Anonymous said...

"yes that's why im not willing to always talk about these things...get a little confusing."

Paul, It gets confusing, because there are no set answers to some of the questions we're asking. That, plus not know how other people will react to what we say, makes us a little uncomfortable sometimes. Plus it's really hard to put these things into words.

But then, maybe I'm not talking about the same thing as you. I have a little problem with communication some times. I'm thinking one thing, and the other person is thinking another thing.

Am I getting what you're saying?

Carol said...

Hey Chloe, do we really understand anything??

Solar said...

Have a mind Chlo, and yes you are getting what im saying in my broken Spanglish....you get it mostly..and the other part is exactly right also,,,very hard to understand, and twice as difficult so verbalize...but yes to it all..I like little devils on my shoulders....

Carol said...

We are just pondering.

Anonymous said...

"do we really understand anything??"

Absolutely not Carol!!

Solar said...

I understand you to be....but thats for another time...

Solar said...

Later..

Anonymous said...

There's nothing broken about your English. You express yourself beautifully. I only speak one language, and I torment over what I'm trying to say sometimes, so much so, that I just don't say it.

Or those times I do get through it, often others completely miscomprehend what I'm trying to say. Communication is really tough Solar. But you do it better than most of us.

Sometimes, when a new though hits my brain, it takes me days before I can articulate it. That's why I 'love' that saying that you may remember me quoted a while back: 'What one truly understands, articulates itself, and the words to say it come easily'. It takes a lot of thinking to get to that point about a new idea. And when you think and change a lot, like we do (you, me, Carol, and all our other friends who come here), thoughts are always changing and morphing into something else. That's how we live our lives.

I told you how much I think you've changed since I've known you. I figure you head must be spinning, because you've moved so far so fast. It just seems like you've made a lot of decisions in the last year, and sometimes you just need to slow down and regroup. I have to do that ALL the time.

Solar said...

Chloe,,last thing for now...no Im not asking why Im here...don't care..my interest is how I got here..and in relation to the rest of the world, and universe..thats why I have absolutely no belief in religion..but I know that we are filled with all of the Spirituality that the universe can, and does provide....

Anonymous said...

"how I got here..and in relation to the rest of the world, and universe"

For me Solar, it's enough to just 'be'. I feel very grateful for my life, the one I've achieved now at least. It's all a stat of mind. You don't need to have all the answers, or to know why, once you realize that you deserve the best. I don't feel the need to completely understand my relationship to the universe, because I figure I understand what I'm supposed to understand. We can't make sense of everything, necessarily, but there's so much right in front of our eyes that is such a miracle. I have enough beauty right in front of me, that I just don't need to look much further. More than I'll ever be able to understand.

Anonymous said...

Hey Solar, You know that picture you love of the rain forest. There are places that beautiful right here in the U.S. Why not try to find them?

Carol said...

I'm looking out my windows at one right now Chloe. You look out yours to one also. A place of beauty. Now in the big C town, you may have to do a little walking to find one.

I don't know...but I like the hunt, the search...and Im in a hurry, I missed out on it half of my life....sounds nutty Huh?

I have a friend, lived here for most of her life, who doesn't care for the scenery here in Louisiana. When she comes out here, which isn't often, nature puts on a show for her but she isn't impressed.

One time she was here, Harry was right outside, just feet away, struting slowly through the shallow water, fishing. Another time, this huge alligator swam by, right in the middle of the river. The only time I ever saw that happen. She wasn't impressed. I told her she needed to come more often because I certainly enjoyed what nature was showing her.

Anonymous said...

No. It doesn't sound nutty!
I've spent most of my life searching too. The same way you do, but I was more focused on the mind, psychology. I know you don't know this, but we're a lot alike.

That hunting, searching you do is a good thing. It's what you enjoy. I just think that you need to go after whatever it is you want. Like Carol just said, she looks out her window, and there's what she wants.

You can do the same thing Paul. You just need to know you 'deserve it' first. If you don't convince yourself that you deserve everything you want, then you'll never have it. Go out and find what you see in that picture. You won't have to go that far. And when you find it, stay there.

Anonymous said...

Carol, I agree. I look out the window, as we speak, and everything I want is right there.

I wish you would frost some dillo's..Damn things moved some of my small rocks last night..Oh their better than Coral snakes i must admit..My poor friend Val is still frightened to walk through her living room after almost stepping on one there last week..I told her to get Snake Away and sprinkle it all around the house..

Chloe,
I'm looking for you.I see you've mastered linking on this sight, how?

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
We're in the same time zone...but I may not be up that early.

Carol said...

Tony, a friend of yours found a snake in her living room? That's not funny.

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
You hit it, Chloe IS the master of linking on this site...she taught all of us.

Ivy Green said...

Poisonous snake in the house?! Yikes!

Carol said...

And we're proud we can still learn new tricks Tony.

Carol said...

Snake in the house would be my worst nightmare.

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
I guess you don't get the newspaper in the morning?

Carol said...

Tony I haven't seen any more dillo evidence since a cat took up at my house.

jan said...

Ivy, I look forward to you castle pics with orbs. I will look at pictures in a different way now.

Carol, not to worry, my husb is too busy on his own comput - he Does not care what I do on mine. Marriage at this stage of life is much different.

Where are the pics of the dresses? I want to see them.

Carol said...

If anyone is watching any of that Dancing with the Stars, Tom Delay has got to be buying votes. He's awful.

jan said...

Carol, "I'm still that sweet little girl you used to know Jan. Just a little more evolved or dissolved or somethin." I guess after 30 years we had better evolve or dissolve - or sumpin. I thought I was the sweet one!

Carol said...

You were pretty darn nice Jan.

"I have a friend, lived here for most of her life, who doesn't care for the scenery here in Louisiana. When she comes out here, which isn't often, nature puts on a show for her but she isn't impressed."

Carol, this could have been me (although I know it is not) because I have spent so much of my life in my own head, not really paying attention to where I was or what was in front of me. I have also done so much thinking about where I would like to be instead of appreciating what was going on in my life. I don't really have any regrets about any of this - I just am so much more award of what is "outside my window" now also - its been a long time getting here - but the view is good now.

jan said...

In above I meant so "much more aware"

jan said...

Carol, you were sweet and so young when we sat next to each other in nutrition - how old were you - 19? I felt ancient (at 26 or 27) when we studied together - you and Katy and me.

Carol said...

This was the song playing on the radio the day you and your family left town to move away. I was thinking about it the other day. It is a romantic song but it was more the friendship meaning. Do you remember? I think I mentioned it to you while I was crying.

When Will I See You Again

Ivy,Carol
Yep,Val was walking in her living room and a Coral Snake scurried across the floor..Val called animal control and they got it.They told her its the time of year their eggs hatch and the mother snakes are looking for food..Carol, remember I killed one in my pool area with a shovel last spring..

jan said...

We watch "Dancing with the stars" At first I wanted Tom Delay to get voted off - but he is really kind of sad when it comes to dancin - I am bettin on the swimmer, Natalie Conklin (or something like that). I like the young blond guy too - he is cute and so much energy. The athletes do have an advantage. I admire the older folks who get out there - they have a lot of guts. My joints ache when I see some of the older women dance - I can just imagine how I would feel the next morning - ouch!

Anonymous said...

Ivy,
I knew Chloe would figure it out..She helped me master it at TM a long time ago..Smart Lady that Chloe...

Carol said...

Yep Jan, about 19. I preferred hanging out with older people. There was always so much more to learn from them. All my friends were older. After you left I hung with Lynn W and Ruth A. You knew Lynn but did you know Ruth A?

Ruth is southern Baptist from Alabami. We were best friends but at oppposite ends of the spectrum. Lynn was more like me.

Carol said...

Yep Chloe teachs us a lot of stuff. Must be young enough to have that technology in her DNA.

Carol said...

Understanding new technology is indirectly proportional to your age.

jan said...

Carol, I remember that day like it was yesterday and that moment - I cannot listen to that song now without remembering you and that you cried when the song was playing. We had such a close friendship. I have not had a friend like you since then - and probably never will. All of my memories of that 9-10 years include you in them.

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
It's been a long time since I lived in wild wild Florida, but I remember when my next-door-neighbor shot a rattlesnake on her front porch. So, I know about Florida's snakes, but yesterday's Florida news had a report about a guy and a bear. Had no idea about the bears.

jan said...

Yes, I remember Lynn W. I thought she was crazy as a bitsy bug - although crazy-funny. She was a b.... to students but someone you never forget. I remember how she could not do do anything or go anywhere without getting her hair done and buying a new pair of pantyhose.

jan said...

I don't think I remember a "ruth" I remember Marguerite H. She came through Alb. in the '80's and visited. What was the first name of the teacher that went to Pineville with us - she was totally clueless about all of us and what we were doing.

Ivy Green said...

Jan,
Forget dancing, my legs are stiff when I get up from this blogging chair!

jan said...

Mine too. I used to love to dance - and still like to move a little. I love to watch Ellen Degeneras - she is a natural dancer - She is going to be a judge on American Idol. I think she will be great.

Carol said...

Zola Zappel and she was as crazy as her name. Remember the day she fell in the garbage can? She was lecturing at the time.

I also remember one day in class when we were having to go around the class and read from our book like 1st grade. Well I was busy talking to Arthur, like first grade. When it came to my turn to read, I didn't know where we were. I asked Arthur and he said, "I'm not going to tell you". That AssH. I think she threw me out of the class that day for not paying attention.

Carol said...

Hey Jan, the rest of the faculty called Ruth, Lynn and I the holy trinity. Yeah, we did kind of run the place or at least try to.

jan said...

I think that summer at Pineville was when our class completely turned around. Before that we were such serious students - pretty compliant - and then after that summer - all H... broke loose. I don't know why I could not remember her name. My favorite teacher was Gloria C. She was my role model.

Arthur was something else. I have never told you but I was so jealous that summer that all of you were busting out and acting out and I thought I had to be "good" and I really wanted to be "bad" As you know - I sure came out of my shell a few years later.

jan said...

Chloe and Ivy both are pretty young or simply very good with technology - If I had not kept working I don't know that I would know how to use any of it,because I don't just sit down and play with (my husb does). It forces me to keep up with the technology.

Carol said...

I remember also the time Arthur screwed Leslie F. We were all at the local drive inn restaurant. You must have been there. It was clean fun.

Leslie was a goodie two shoes. Good Baptist boy, hanging out with us hoodlums. He wanted to be one of us so he tried to steal a glass. When it came time for the girl to pick up the tray, Arthur knew what Leslie had done. He made a point to say, "I think there's a glass missing". Poor Leslie. He had to dig out that glass. He left that drive in a better Baptist boy.

Carol said...

This may not be funny to you guys but I'm dying laughing here.

Carol said...

I guess I ran everyone off.

Where's the link to the snow bunny bear?

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
There was also an additional "Bear Home Invasion" reported in Colorado yesterday. Seems like bears are the new sharks.

Ivy Green said...

Time for a yawn and a leg stretch...

Carol said...

Why Ivy, were shark breaking into home too? I remember right after seeing "Jaws". I was afraid to take a bath for a while.

I'm looking.

Ivy Green said...

I have the Bear Stories in my e-mail. I can get it and link it. Which one do you want? (Florida or Colorado?)

Should have written, "Smarter than the Average Bear." That's the saying Yogi Bear always said...

jan said...

I had to go watch who got kicked off DWTS's.
Carol, so If I was there it was "clean fun" I guess I don't remember that scene but Arthur could could be a real s..t. Leslie was one of the nicest guys I have known. Arthur sort of eased his way into our group - until pineville summer I don't remember him.

After watching the movie "psycho" I still do not take a shower without checking the lock on every door.

Ivy Green said...

Another busy conversation night here, Carol. All good things must come to an end...we'll pick up where we left off...

Ivy Green said...

Who got booted in the butt with their dancing shoes? (Not that I know who's even on the show).

jan said...

I have 2-3 skirt sizes in my closet -always have.

jan said...

One of women stars - Debbie something - When we used to have HBO - one night Bill Mahr said "New Rule: If you are on Dancing with the stars, you are NOT a star" Tom Delay is leaving the show because of foot injuries.

Carol said...

That football player's still in it, Jan?

Carol said...

With these shows, it's not who is the most talented that wins, it's who can pull in the most calls. I'll never waste my time with "America' Got Talent" again. That was a real bust.

jan said...

I don't know where what state people who are on this blog live in - except Carol - I know where you are and Ivy - I think from your football team, you are in Alabama. I don't know where Chloe lives or Solar or Tony. I am in NM (the enchanted state). I wonder where and who picks out what a state is associated with???

Anonymous said...

hi way
i'm in central florida.New Smyrna Beach on the Alantic coast..

jan said...

I read the bear link. Funny story, I bet the bear was just trying to keep him away from the cubs and the food. I am glad he was not hurt bad or they might have destroyed the bear.

Carol said...

Solar/Chicago, Chloe/north of Houston, Ivy/north Alabama?, Tony/Florida

Carol said...

How far are you from Boynton Beach, Tony? I have a friend there. I think she follows the blog at times.

jan said...

Carol, thanks - its just kinda nice to picture where in this big old world people are hanging out.

jan said...

The football player is still in - but he was one of 4 couples in jeapordy.

I agree, it depends on how many people call in to these shows, not necessarily who has the talent. Last spring on Amer Idol, a lot of people thought Adam should have won because of his talent, but it was the other guy - I can't even remember his name - I was rootin for him because he was from Conway, AR and he was a really nice guy - but I don't think he had the talent that Adam had.

Carol said...

Ivy, did you ever concider studying nursing, since your mom and grandmother were both nurses?

My twin sister thought she could never be a nurse because she had this vomitophobia. It started after I vomited on her when I was a kid. After she had her kid she got over it and now she is a nurse. Did you know Mary was an RN, Jan?

jan said...

Chloe, I want to tell you that posting the pics of the balloons is awesome- it did not matter that they were "turned around" You are so talented with the technology. My favorite is the one with the fire being blown into the balloon - I love the flame. I like the one with the cow. We stayed for a long time watching while they blew her up - and it took forever - we got tired and left to find something else to watch. This year I think was the biggest crowd ever. I really don't like crowds that much.

Ivy Green said...

American Idol is the only one of those shows I watch. I got started with it when they had Birmingham people year after year. First Ruben, then Bo Bice, then Taylor Hicks. Every year I say I'll swear off, but then I get into it.

Adam and Kris were both talented, but in different styles. A lot of runners-up have been successful.

jan said...

Ohmygosh no, I did not know Mary was a nurse. That is great. Tell her atta girl for me. What area of nursing does she do?

Carol said...

Jan, this was the first year I watched some of those talent shows. Might be the last. Never got into American Idol like so many did.

Carol said...

Post partum.

Carol said...

Don't like that Simon guy on Idol. Might be better with Ellen.

jan said...

Ivy, your memory is great! The season Taylor Hicks won, my sister and I had a heated disagreement - I liked the woman who was the runner up and she liked Taylor HIcks - she and I never like the same singer in Am Idol. You are right, so many contestants came from Alabama. Several have come from OKlahoma, my home state too - Carrie Underwood and David Cook.

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
Yes, my first job was a nurses' aide. Bear Woman and I were both up for the same job. I got hired and she was a little mad. Soon as I got in, I looked for the next opening and got her in the door right away.

The job turned off me nursing I think because it was "sad." A nursing/convalescent home may not have shown me nursing at its best, I wonder in retrospect.

jan said...

Idon't like the things Simon says to contestants but he is often "right on target" I think Ellen will bring a lot to the show. I know Paula Abdul is leaving - Is Simon leaving too?

Anonymous said...

Carol,
i'm about 2 and hours drive on 95 south,180 miles..

jan said...

Ivy, a nursing/convalesc home is not a good place to start unless you really like working with elders. I rarely have been in a nursing home that doesn't have the urine smell. Did Bear Woman become a nurse.

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
The step-daughter of a coworker had such a phobia about blood and injections as a kid that she forced herself to train as a paramedic, and then went on eventually to become an NP. That's a success story in overcoming one's obstacles.

jan said...

Wow! Mary does OB nursing. How long has she been in nursing?

jan said...

Ivy, interesting. I had a phobia about blood and violence as a child and my dad convinced me I could not be a nurse or anything in medicine. Before I became a nurse, I worked for 3 obstetricians. I did office work and loved it and that is when I knew I could do nursing. The blood and other body fluids in OB do not bother me - but trauma nursing does not appeal to me.

Carol said...

Nursing home would not be a good place to start as a young person.

Jan do you remember Martin Deporres nursing home where all the mental patients went? We used it for most of the psych experience for students when Pineville closed.

Lynn took me for a tour one day and before I got through the tour I was having some of those extrapyrimadal symptoms most of them have after years of taking the old psychotropic drugs.

When I worked 4 years for that old Doc who got in trouble, I worked at the prison, up a little north of here and saw the patients at that nursing home, 2 afternoons a week. I really enjoyed providing the medical care the patients there. It helped to be older.

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
I did develop a real caring about the elderly as a result of that experience. Bear Woman went on to major in biology. She's been a science teacher, a foods' industry scientist, and a pharmaceutical researcher. She just "took the package" from pharma last year, and is figuring out what she wants to do when she grows up.

jan said...

I say every year I am going to not watch Idol, and then I get hooked again. I have sworn off some of the other shows though - I quit watching some of the crime shows like CSI and the med shows but still like House. It seems they rehash the same stuff over and over.

Carol said...

I met Jesus, Napoleon, Hilter and a few other famous people there. The place was loaded down with delusions of grandeur.

Carol said...

How many more years does Bear Woman have to grow to be up, Ivy?

jan said...

Ivy, you were a very special person to develop have a caring experience for the elderly as a young person. Most students I have taken to long term care have not liked the experience.

Carol, I do remember Martin Deporres. We met a few of those famous people in Pineville too. I don't know if you remember but I went back to Pineville as a clinical instructor for 2 summers when I first started teaching. I also stayed in the same dorm with students. Every summer that I went back, the patients seemed saner and the nurses seemed sicker. If I had not gone into OB, I would have done Psych nursing.

Carol said...

I had to go back and catch all that I missed here.

Tony, for some reason, I thought you lived near Orlando. I do remember seeing your town on the map but wasn't sure where. Your south of Boynton Beach.

Jan, I'm not sure how long Mary's been a nurse. 20+, I think. She went to Sowela for LPN first. Then years later did that online thing for her RN. Had clinical practicum somewhere in Wisconsin.
