Tony,
Cleaning IS something people have to have. We just take it for granted these days. Hygiene is the basis of our standard of health.

Carol, Poor Tony. This happens every time he comes to visit us. I hope he doesn't give up on us.

Carol said...

No Sam's there Tony? They have butchers at ours.

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
I'm doubled-over, but it's from laughing.

Carol said...

Then I don't think antacid with help Ivy.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Tony's here yet Carol. I'm going to take another look.

Carol said...

I think Tony's lost in cyberspace. Probably thinks it's a conspiracy. I think that maybe Solar is flying with him trying to show him the way.

Anonymous said...

Ha Chloe,
Took me a bit to find the new comments! I just reloaded from my bookmarks..

Carol,
Got Sams in Daytona Beach..I check next Tuesday and see if they have butchers..

I'm not caught up with this thread, just jumped in..

Chloe
You and Emma been sick?

Anonymous said...

Tony! You made it. I was afraid we'd scare you off.

Anonymous said...

Ha Chloe,
Thought you all went to sleep early..

Solar,
Any new work for you?
I thought of you when the new jobless numbers were released..

Anonymous said...

Jumping in is good Tony. Emma has her first cold (or virus of some kind); I caught it from her, and I guess we'll just keep on passing it along if we're not careful. I was originally fearful that it would be H1N1, but apparently not, and her little 9 month old immune system is doing it's job. I think we're going to be ok. She is fussy though. But I can handle that. Fussy is much better than listless.

OMG
Let me tell you about Blue Diamond Almond milk,Wonderful stuff and non-dairy..60 calories a serving, less than skim..

Anonymous said...

Chloe,
Glad to hear you and her are getting better..Its scary right now if you get sick, don't know what your sick with really..

Anonymous said...

Oh and don't forget to put in the Hershey's sugar free chocolate syrup..very good..

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
There's a thing about this blog when it hits 200 comments it rolls over, but we're already lost by then. We all figured it out the hard way.
"Not all who wander are lost."

Carol said...

Ivy, did you tell Hubs about the meat yet or are you waiting til he finishes the left overs?

Ivy Green said...

“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renenwed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”

~ J.R.R. Tolkien

"Hershey's sugar free chocolate syrup."

Tony, I've used that sugar free chocolate syrup before. It's good. But I've never heard of Blue Diamond Almond milk. Where do you get it and in which department?

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
Hubs already ditched the leftover meatballs, but he doesn't know yet why I am still laughing about it.

Anonymous said...

Ivy, I 'loved' that quote!

Carol said...

You made me a little dizzy there Ivy.

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
I think it's enough that Hubs won't ask me to get meat from Wally World again. As far as he's concerned, anything more comes under the heading of TMI. lol

"We all figured it out the hard way."

I favorite way to learn.

Well, I'm getting a little fuzzy, so I'm going to down some NyQuil and get a little fuzzier. See you all tomorrow.

Chloe,
I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty cat. Every time I think about it, tears run down my face. I love animals so much. I had a little flying squirrel that my son brought home one time yrs. ago. It had fallen out of a tree. I took care of that little squirrel and would get up all thru the night to feed it. I even brought it to my vets office during the day for daycare while I was working. I only had it for about 10 days. I went to pick it up one day and my vet. told me he had died. I cried for a month. My son had to go get it and bring it home and we had a memorial and burial. Like I said before I don't know what I will do when my little dog dies.
I'm so glad Emma is doing better.

Anonymous said...

Chloe,
Its got the same logo as the can of Blue Diamond almonds..It in the dairy next to the soy products, much better for me than soy..Hersheys sugar choc syrup is really good..I'm having great choc milk again like i was a kid..

Carol said...

Soy milk can cause gas. It's hard for some to tolerate.

Carol said...

I just looked up the supplement facts for that almond milk Tony. Looks pretty healthy.

Carol said...

Also has a little carrageenan. Isn't that seaweed?

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
I admire your self-discipline with your healthy diet and exercise routines. I would break down in a minute and go for the Nesquik and whole milk! How do you do it, stick to the regimen and all?

Anonymous said...

Carol
Its healthy and tastes very good.Until I discovered it I really hadn't had milk in years..Don't like soy...Its very good with cerial.I got some raison brand, resisted the Capt Crunch with crunch berries,ha...

Carol said...

Does it taste anything like milk?

Ivy
I was over weight in High school but when i got in the real world of GM i decided to change things..The first thing i did was lose the weight,in a very unhealthy starvation way..I figured it out soon that if I didn't change my lifestyle it was going to come back..I joined a gym and started eating healthy as I could..I think it was good I had the problem young, changing things after 35 to 40 is very hard..

Ivy Green said...

Chloe,
I 'spose that means little Emma is tucked in for the night? I hope she sleeps well and is much improved with her cold in the am.
I had to quit Nyquil many years ago. I found it to be one of those products that whatever it says on the label will be its effects, on me they will be the opposite. If it's supposed to put you to sleep, with me it will send me skyrocketing all night. Even my amibien, in the beginning, I literally stayed awake for a week on it. I had to quit it, and then decided to try it again, and the second time it worked on a lower dose. There are certain rx's and even otc's I wish I could take, but I can't.

Anonymous said...

Carol,
It tastes very much like milk, maybe a bit sweeter?I think it takes getting used too..I remember when I drank milk, switching from whole to 2% to skim was hard because at first I really didn't like the taste, but I soon got used too it..I telling you with Hersheys choc syrup its very creamy and rich..$2.74 Walmart a half gallon

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
You are right, if you form the good habits or at least break the bad ones at a young age, it becomes like second nature. I find I can keep myself disciplined for a while, even a long while, but if I "slip" it's just like an alcoholic's relapse...I am powerless. Then it's a long haul to get back on track.

Carol said...

That's pretty cheap Tony. I drink that Lactose free low fat milk but only in my coffee. Haven't had a glass of milk in many years.

Anonymous said...

Ivy
I tried taking an Ambien again the other night when I couldn't sleep,nothing..I slept, but only after an hour an half..Its only the second time i've tried it though...

Anonymous said...

Ivy its hard, there are so many goodies out there..

Carol,
This Blue Diamond is lactose free also..I've seen lactose free lowfat milk but never tasted it..I have never drank coffee, but many people tell me they have to have milk or no coffee..

Carol said...

Maggie and I have a real passion for a good hearty, crusty bread. I eat a loaf a week. WM has some new breads they carry now. I've been getting this Como or Ciabatta bread. We like it toasted with butter.

Carol said...

Ambien crosses my eyes. I can't even read after taking it.

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
I'm going to look for that. It sounds good. Sounds like something Hubs would like too. He was drinking chocolate soy milk for a while. These days, he's taken a shine to DanActive little yogurt drinks. He takes one of those every morning. Thing is, with something new, I'd just have to buy it, set it in the 'fridge and let him "discover" it.

Ivy Green said...

Tony,
Even now, ambien never puts me right to sleep. There are some nights, it never seems to kick in.

Ivy Green said...

Carol,
I did look over the WM bread selection. In fact, it was the crusty sub rolls that gave me the idea for meatballs. Hubs had burgers in mind at first. Like I said, I am rediscovering Wally World. I had stopped going there, but now it's like a brand new store.

Anonymous said...

Ivy
You guys might like it..Very lo-cal as the serving for the milk is 60 cal vs.90 cals for skim. The Hershey's is 15 cals a teaspoon vs.100 cals for reg with sugar..

Carol,
The bread sounds good..WM does have a good selection..I don't eat much bread ,but I dicovered about a year ago these Arnold 100 cal whole wheat breads(almost looks like a bun but thin..Very nice..

Carol said...

WM even carries organic stuff now. They have some organic fruit and organic grape tomatoes.

Anonymous said...

nice chatting..I guess i will go off to bed and read a little...Good night all...

Anonymous said...

Oh didn't know that Carol,I'll give it a look..At least it will be some cheaper at WM..

Ivy Green said...

'Nite, Tony. Looks like we're winding down. Let us know what good thing you're reading these days.

Ivy Green said...

I have a big new pile of books and I can't decide which one to start with.

Carol said...

Fruits like grapes and strawberries are full of pesticides and fungicides. Best to get the organic ones, especially if feeding to any kids.

I try to just stick to the poisons I really like and eliminate some of it from other things. Don't want to throw all caution to the wind.

Ivy Green said...

I still haven't made the switch to Amazon Kindle. I seem to be addicted to paper and ink.

Ivy Green said...

Another thing about Wally World is, stuff comes in fast and goes out just as fast. If you see something you like, you better grab it. If you wait, it will be gone by the next day. By the same token, if you go back the next day, there will be entirely new stuff that wasn't there the day before.

Carol said...

One of the things that I think I would really like about that Kindle is being able to search a text to find something I was looking for. I tried to find something I knew was in a book I had the other day and never could find it. Didn't want to read the book again.

Another advantage would be getting a book without leaving the house or waiting days for it to arrive. Of course I might find that the book I wanted wasn't available on the Kindle. And it's kind of neat to have the actual book in your library. Can't really make a statement with a chunk of plastic sitting on your coffee table.

I was on the Coast to Coast AM site tonight and they always have interesting photos people take posted on that site. You ought to check it out sometime.

Hi Carol, you have gone to bed now but I looked at the picture and that is a very interesting picture. Castle Rock is on the road between Albuq and Denver. We often stop there because they have a bunch of outlet malls. I have a grandson (Terry's oldest) in Wellington Colo. so we go through Castle Rock on the way to his house.

I finally got started on a baby quilt. The baby is due in early January - so I am under the gun now.
Talk to you all in the morning.

Carol said...

Ivy, I'm still chuckling about last night. I bet it would be a hoot to watch you and Hubs. You gave us good insight with your writing last night. You could probably be a screenwriter. I could see it all. You, Hubs and the mystery meat....Is everyone OK today? Please don't give it to the dogs. LOL I'm just kiddin.

I didn't mean to stir up any controversy. I really doubt there would be any more of a problem other than a little stench when you are browning your meat. Don't worry bout it. Cook some onions first, that will knock out any odors. If not, WM has some lovely room deodorizers.

Try that Febreze in the Hawaiian Aloha. Maybe not. That might bring up some sad memories of a road not taken. A life experience passed up. Maybe the Spring something or other would be a better choice.

Carol said...

And another thing Ivy. Don't want to worry you too much but I hope the popcorn you made yesterday was the stuff where they taken out that chemical that will kill ya just breathing the fumes. Also, I think that burning it is even worse. Now don't worry. You probably have a couple of good weeks left. Make good use of them.

Carol said...

Lately here it sounds like it is raining little bombs. The squirrels are busy de-nutting the trees and I guess throwing them on my metal roof. I keep running outside to see if a plane is passing over and dumping their toilets or something.

I was also hoping that the camp wasn't falling down and that is the sound it makes as the stilts go. I have a Christmas party every year and one year I was worrying about whether the stilts would hold with all the people in here. We do have quite a few of us who are carrying more weight than we need.

Carol said...

And Ivy, I was reading on SI about the game yesterday and a guy who wrote one of the articles did point out that LSU was cheated out of a pass interception. He even photographed the tennis shoe marks left by the reciever.

Maybe that would have changed the outcome, maybe not. Also we got charged with that time out call when both teams asked for it at the same time. That left us with no more time outs. Just something to ponder. It kind of leave a little blight on the outcome.

Carol said...

Can you believe there is a hurricane out there? Ida is her name and she has maximum sustained winds of 90 mph. Not thought to still be a hurricane when she hits land, predicted somewhere around the Florida panhandle.
