Well, as you all may know, I am very proud and happy today. And just in case you haven't heard, the New York Yankees are the 2009 World Series Champions.
The joy that the Yankees have brought me & countless others, makes me wonder, what are the things that makes one happy. Certainly sharing with family, including fur family members, friends, appreciating the world around you, the beauty that nature offers, one's accomplishments, music, art, knowledge, and yes being a 'fan' of a sports team.
Here we have shared with each other some of the things that provide us with pleasure & in keeping with how I feel today, my wish is that each of you get to enjoy something that provides you pleasure each day, even when the realities of daily life sometimes seem overwhelming.

MG Ivy, Those pictures! I don't know how else to say it: I was overwhelmed by picture 2, with all the colors. I have to say I have never seen anything like that in my life, because I've never lived in a cold climate. Absolutely beautiful! I immediately made it my desktop. I hope you've tried the same, because it is even more striking enlarged to that size.

What you said there, is lovely too Coreen. Congratulations on your Yankee's being the 2009 World Series Champions. It was fun watching your excitement throughout the series, and to see you come out on the winning end.

LOL Carol. That reminded me that no one ever thinks they're going to get caught. If they did, there wouldn't be nearly as many 'crims'. :)
They don't air condition the prisons here either. Or smoke. Do your prisoners smoke there?

Yes! I hate that. That's even worse than having no coffee ready at all, when I forget to set the timer.
Regarding what you said about H1N1 and humidity (and the high humidity in your prison),
I linked an H1N1 article quite a while back at TM that said that it does better in humidity. Which is the opposite of what I thought it would be.
I'm not surprised though, that there's more out of jail than in, at this point, because they're not exposed to nearly as many people (even though I'm sure in a close environment like that, it could spread really fast).
It seems to me that most illnesses are spread the fastest in schools. Most every time I get sick, it's from being around school age children.

Those ARE beautiful pictures! And beautiful sentiments to go with them. What a great way to celebrate your Yankee Day. I know how joyful it's made me feel whenever any team of mine is victorious, and how "in the dumps" I've been when they lose. You'd think we were the ones on the playing field. lol
I am not "in the dumps" today for the Phillies' loss. They had it last year, and my rooting for them stems mainly from my childhood influences growing up in the Philly environs. I remember when the World Series was played in the middle of the school day. The nuns were such avid Philly fans, they would wheel the television cart into the classroom so they could watch the games while we were given coloring or drawing to keep us busy! lolol
Coach Saban never fails to credit support from the fans for the important part they ("we") play in boosting the players' morale. Fans are not for nothing.

I understand the petty criminal mind believes it is invulnerable. The mark of immature thinking, the same sense of invulnerability that keeps teens from slowing down or texting while driving. "It will never happen to me."
Not thinking about potential consequences may be less about personality types and more about brain dysfunction that crosses all sixteen of the types. Not learning from one's own consequences is even more baffling.

In case I get side-tracked before the day is over, I will be out tonight celebrating Guy Fawkes Night with one of our Brit colleagues who's visiting. Ivy, I kind of felt you might be preparing for someone else to be gracious about an upcoming loss in your concession speech this morning. That wouldn't be me, would it? Think that I might be losing this weekend and I should also be gracious? Well, I'll think about it if circumstances occur where I might have to be.
Chloe, even though you wrote Ivy when complimenting Coreen's pics, I also knew who you were talking about. Isn't it interesting that we can read each other's minds now.
I thought that was you Solar in that first pic. You need to get some better snaps on that booty flap. I think you might have mooned us. Look again, don't you guys see that moon?
That dog in the article you linked Solar might have my Maggie girl's name but she looks more like Jan's Lobie.
My flu guys are already feeling better and want out of isolation even the ones with the really high fever.
Coreen that pic with the leaf color changes is beautiful. Our trees down here seem to go from alive to dead. One tree that seems to have the best color changes is the Tallow tree. It grows like a bad weed and most people around here don't like that tree. If you have a field that you don't mow for a few years, those trees can take over the property.
Ivy, not your usual inspirational poetry this morning. A little morbid. I like the prayer poems better. You need to hurry and clear the air. Don't need to leave all those blood, guts and ash on the floor.

Ivy seems to be very knowledgable about historical events & persons. The woman she
mentioned that lived here, I never heard of,
but I am going to try to find the home that
she lived in, apparently it is on a nation historical registry.
