Going fishing ain't just grabbing your pole and jumping in the boat. It takes a lot of preparation, sometimes so much that you don't have the energy to actually do the fishing when your done.
I made my list, checked it twice. Cleaned out the boat, charged up the battery, filled the gas tank, restrung all the reels, replaced the rusty hooks, and fixed up some jug lines to drop off. This is the part where a good man would come in handy. Don't have one so I'm stuck doing it myself.
I've got so much stuff to put in the boat that I'm not sure if there will be room for my fishing partner and me. She's a green horn so I'll probably even have to bait her hooks. After she catches her first fish, she's on her own.
The detergent jugs are used to make the jug lines. This time I will try not to put one of those gnarly hooks thru a finger. I haven't set those jugs out since my unfortunate accident.
Oh, the last picture is Joey, the river rat who rode his houseboat through Rita. He must be taking his bed and breakfast guests on a swamp tour. I'll try and get a close shot next time.

Carol,
I see Patsi is now listed as one of your contributors. I bow to her talent, skill, and experience. It is such an honor to be in the company of our professional writers.
Ivy, I sent her a author invite and the blog put that up there. I'm not even sure she even drops by here.
but she has a blog on the same google blogger so they do that. I'm listed on C-Bob's site.
Ivy, if you author a post or if you had a blog, blogger will list you also so get to it sister.
yeah, yeah, I hear 'ya...
She is the only professional we know and she hasn't posted yet.
Why don't you put up some pics of your pups Ivy? Or get some of your birds. You have a lot of good bird info. We all love the birds.
Carol,
It's encouraging that you enjoy your boat so much.
I always heard the two best days in a boat-owner's life are the day he gits it, and the day he gits rid of it.
Also, how do you make a small fortune? Start with a big one and buy a boat.
Any more boat-jokes out there?
I have to enroll in a google-something and I've been too lazy to do it.
My boat is old. I bought it years ago and it just sat under a tree for years. I got it out to the camp for a short while before Rita. I had to bring it home again and it sat under a tree, about 4 years, until a few months ago. I got someone to clean it up and I had a little thing built to keep it from sinking if we get a heavy rain.
I have a fleet now of used boats.
You have to have a pontoon boat if you have a camp out here. I think it's in the rule book. I got an old one last year. Didn't pay much and several people have asked to buy it.
Ivy, I don't think you have to use google. There are other options.
If you want to use google, you just use your email address and make up a password. It takes about a minute.
I know. I'm just lazy...and distracted...
Hey I was snipe hunting back at the last post, I left a cpl for each of you,,,,nite now.
I went out to toss something into the compost (did you know you can compost dryer lint?) and ran smack-dab into the most amazing spider web. I grabbed the camera a snapped a few pix. I hope they come out, it's hard to take pictures at night. By morning, the spider web will be gone. Spiders on my deck seem to put up a web at night, and take it down by day. Another of nature's amazing, intricate, and mysterious creatures.
I was keeping an eye on you Solar. You know how sympathetic I am to snipe hunters. Hey I invited the game.
I hope it comes out good too Ivy. You need to start keeping the camera in your pocket. Never know when something interesting will pop up. I'm trying to do that now. Waiting for big beav or big swampfoot. I'll be ready.
Carol,
Took a last peek, and maybe a giant crow too.....
I don't see any crows except at Wal-Mart. I think they are crows. I'm always polite. Don't want to be harrassed.
Nite everyone. I'll get some photos on my fishing trip unless I'm too busy catching fish. Maybe I'll come home and be surprised with some new posts from some new authors.
