Awww, you didn't have to go to so much trouble, Carol, but thank you so much! And thank you for the greetings, Chloe, Jan and Solar. You are great pals. I'm heading out to my birthday dinner. Our last night in Scotland. Tomorrow, we head from Aberdeen to Heathrow, then home.

Today we stayed close to Banchory (same Gaelic root as Bangor, as in Maine, means "blessed place"}. We visited "The Nine Staines," (The Nine Stones) which are a circle of standing stones reminiscent of Stonehenge, much smaller but just as ancient and mysterious. I heard an owl there.

We went from there to a ruined fortress castle, Dunottar, perched high above the North Sea, a place where William Wallace (Braveheart) hid out. Spectacular.

More later, after dinner, if our packing gets done. Our last evening to spend with the boys, next time we see them they'll be huge. They might come to the U.S. next year...gotta see the Mouse, they say.

Have a great time Ivy, I don't envy much...but I do people that travel...thank for taking us with you.

Hey Ivy.... HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

please come over to TM and tell us all about your trip to Scotland... we miss you over there....

miss you too Carol....

Carol said...

Happy Belated Birthday to you too, Renee!

RebelliousRenee said...

alright!.... I finally figured out I have to hit preview before I can post....

RebelliousRenee said...

Carol....
Thanks! I never make a big deal out of it on TM because it doesn't feel right to ask for celebration on that day....

Carol said...

I still lurk on the Trail Renee. I just haven't had anything profound to add lately.

Carol said...

We can celebrate your life here Renee.

RebelliousRenee said...

Carol....
what?!..... you mean you haven't had the urge to argue with Max?!..... ROFL!

I haven't cared as much about politics since my fair in August...

RebelliousRenee said...

ok.... since I've been lurking here and know what you've all been talking about I'll tell you something I don't say on TM.
I am a lightworker. I know most of them believe that they are spirtual beings masked as human beings....

I believe slightly differently.... I've chosen to come through as a human being and I say celebrate that and revel in it. I used to try to ignore certain feelings.... and now I say feel it.... that's why you're here.... to experience everything about being human....

Carol said...

Interesting Renee. I'm not sure I understand what you are saying but I do want to hear more.

Renee, I was so obsessed with politics for so many years but started trying to get away from some of it for my mental and physical well-being.

Carol said...

Sorry for my delayed response Renee. I run in and out of the camp to do little chores. I have lots of little chores and some big ones.

Carol said...

Renee, it sounds like you have some good stuff to ponder.

I want to hear more too Renee. It is such a nice surprise to see you here. I don't know what a lightworker is, but I like what you described and the way you said it. The part about not ignoring your feelings and expressing them is so important.

Hope you share some of the details with us. We're all open here and love learning new things.

Paul, Did you finishing sweep the place up, once you gave everyone their little assignment? If not, you'd better get to work. :)

Solar said...

I will sweep up after I get paid...info, the straight scoop, the curve report...

I think that a lightworker is a form of animal that is in disguise of a human...or something like that...some are, good and some are bad..Renee is in the middle..sometime g and b...and Renee sorry that im late, but Happy B. Birthday...

Anonymous said...

I didn't know it was Renee's birthday (recently?). Sorry Renee, but a belated Happy Birthday!

RebelliousRenee said...

hey guys I'll talk more in the coming days....
at the moment I need to make supper for Rick and I and I only allow myself so much time to blog....

Solar.... if you read what I said over on TM... you'll get this...
oink... oink.... :0)

Anonymous said...

Oh, forgot to tell you, you don't get paid. Sorry about that.

RebelliousRenee said...

Chloe...
my birthday is Sept 11th.... and thanks....

Ok Renee, Is it similar to this?:

* Metaphysically speaking, the Lightworker is a spirit who has completed all of the required human experiences a spirit must go through lifetime after lifetime to understand the full "human experience." Lightworkers have decided to come back into this lifetime to help the Earth and its inhabitants rise into a higher dimension or state of consciousness. These people have been called "old souls."
* Some say Lightworkers are Angels in human form.
* Removing any religious reference, we can give you one more definition. A Lightworker is a person who has decided to make it his or her life's ambition to make this world a better place than when he or she first entered it. This can be achieved through dialogue, working or volunteering towards a cause, or displaying and teaching love to everyone at all times.

Well Renee, I'm sorry we didn't know that, but a belated congratulations.

Anonymous said...

oops, didn't see you getting dinner. Looking forward to hearing about it.

Ivy Green said...

That's what I get for rushing and not paying close attention...Chloe's first "thread head"? Thanks, Chloe, I'm honored and humbled.

Very glad to see you here, Renee. I'm still a "member" of the Trail Mix (I hope). The Trail is like our regular day-job where we show up in decent clothes and with shoes, while Carol's Camp is our weekends-on-the-porch with bare feet. Lately, I've just been kicking back on the porch.

Today I saw a hawk (which here, they call a "buzzard," to me, a buzzard is a vulture)by the River Dee. "Aberdeen" means "by the Dee." No owl sounds since this morning at the Stones. It's going to be difficult to leave this place without making a positive ID. Oh well, another reason to return soon.

Carol said...

What did you have for dinner birthday girl?

Carol said...

Well Ivy, Chloe and Carol start with the same letter and have the same number of letters.

Ivy Green said...

Well, I'm afraid I'll have to sleep through the rest of the Pacific Daylight Time portion of my birthday. I have to get some sleep if I'm going to make my plane tomorrow.

It's been a great trip. Here's a ponder I'll leave you with...how many times have you gotten to the end of an extended trip and said, if I just had one more day, I'd be able to...(fill in the blank)? Or maybe, you most remember the Trip From Hell when you couldn't wait for it to end?

(P.S. I would have gone to Inverness.)

Ivy Green said...

I had cake!
(and help blowing out the candles).

Carol said...

You need to start some blowing exercises. No comment Solar.

Ivy Green said...

'Nite for sure now...thanks everybody! See 'ya later.

P.S. I almost forgot, Hubs bought a replacement camera...then I found the recharger he'd overlooked in the bottom of the bag...! Too funny...

Carol said...

I hate when that happens Ivy, but you can't have too many cameras.

Ivy Green said...

I heard some loud squawking and ruckus out the window...bird-victim getting nailed by the owl?? Nature can be so heartless.

Carol said...

I can't criticize, I'm eating chicken....Chicken taco salad.

Ivy Green said...

Carol, I figure I can keep a camera in the car. Or still have one when the other is recharging.

Carol said...

Ivy shares a birthday with the "Boss"

Solar said...

Ok, No more joking around, nothing, just serious post's from now on...

Solar said...

Nix that, been keeping this one for a good time..and its now:

Washington & The Madame!

One dark, cold wintry night George Washington was in retreat with a group of his soldiers from one of his early defeats on the battlefield.

With a weary little group of his men he entered a small town and went up to the first house and knocked on the door. The lady of the house opened the door and Washington said, "Ma'am, I'm General Washington and I am trying to find a place for my men to sleep tonight. Do you have any extra beds in your house?"

The woman answered, "Oh, I have eleven children. I don't think so. But I do have one bed, if that will help you."

Washington turned around and called out, "Sergeant Cox, front and center."

The sergeant went on into the house and the group moved on to the next house, which unbeknown to Washington, was a "house of ill-repute."

The Madame came to the door and George told his sad story and asked if she had any beds for his men.

She said, "Do we have beds? How many men do you have?"

Washington looked around and said, "Fourteen without Cox."

The Madame said, "You gotta be kiddin?"

Carol said...

Good one Solar. You, serious? Next life, maybe.

Solar said...

Carol,

You know that I can be both, right now serious doesn't seem to be working..at least over at tm..so i left this joke over there also..

Carol said...

Spreading yourself around huh Solar?

I've been watching a little of that new sitcom Modern Family. It's hurt yourself laughing funny so far.

Ivy, that is what happens to me - as soon as I find something to replace what I have "misplaced" I find the misplaced item. It has been such fun hearing about your ventures and adventures.

I have been watching a movie about Georgia O'Keefe. She is one of my hero's. There is a G.O'Keefe museum in Santa Fe with many of her paintings. I bought a biography about her several years ago. She was a woman ahead of her time. One of the things I liked about her was that she knew what she wanted and she wanted only to paint, and she did paint - all of her life. Another thing I liked about her was that she was totally honest - she said "that is the only way I knew how to be." and finally, she did not care what other people thought about her. The only man she ever loved was such a philanderer, but she loved him anyway.
G'nite.
