Canned air for sale

I often ponder the fact that you can sell humans anything and they’ll buy it.

I have a great idea for a business.  Anyone want in?  If I include you, you can’t tell anyone about it yet and I might be too late with this idea.  My idea is to sell “canned air”.  Yes, “canned air”.   Not just any air, it’s fortified with extra oxygen, vitamins and minerals.  Feeling puny, spritz our “canned air” in your face.  You’ll feel better in no time.  If you’re far away from home and feeling lonely we also have “regional air” for sale,  air from your home town…Houston Air, New York Air, Los Angeles Air…  Air with just a hint of the right mixture of toxins and fumes.  From my experience I wouldn’t recommend the air from Los Angeles or Houston.  Just not my preference.  I felt a little short of breath breathing both.  Of course what I think of as the feeling of shortness of breath, others may see as an interesting buzz.  Just think of all the things that some people will huff for a buzz.

We also have “Rocky Mountain air” or air with a hint of sea salt.  The possibilities are endless.

If you think that this “canned air” is a dumb idea, that’s how I kinda felt about bottle water, those individual bottles of water, when they first started selling it.  From the get go I thought...this is just not right.

We don’t have to pay much for water from the house.  If you’re not home you can get it just about anywhere else for free.  You can filter it.  If you want it portable, get a travel mug or glass.   How much power or natural resources do we squander to bottle water?  Now it’s going to be available in a can??  How much trash do we generate with all this plastic and cans?  How much money do you waste on it? I do understand that some water must be available in containers for emergencies.

I want to thank and praise the NYC marathon runners who even though they couldn't participate in what they trained to do, used their extraordinary stamina and skills to help out the victims of the super storm.

Didn't sleep well last night. I've always had trouble turning off my brain so I can sleep. I have to listen to something to distract me from things I'm pondering or worrying about. Music doesn't do it. It just provides more stimulus for pondering. I need to listen to something that I have to concentrate on but it needs to be a pleasant subject.

I scanned through the hundreds of channels I have on my satellite to find something interesting but pleasant. Couldn't find a thing that wasn't in some way stressful.

Years ago the Discovery Channel had pleasant nature stories that helped me fall asleep. Now most of their programs have a little bit of a scary edge.

I finally settled on the LI medium. Her voice is a little loud and squeaky but the content is pleasant. She's a real down to earth person who just so happens to be able to communicate with those who are above it. I did fall asleep.

Oxygen for life

Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well, Carol. I have that problem occasionally, and always must read a few pages of my book when I go to bed at night. One book lasts me forever, because I usually only get through a few pages. If that doesn't work, they say it's better to get up for a while if you don't fall asleep within about a half hour. So that's what I do when all else fails.

It took me so long to find the formula for linking again, but I had it right, but it wouldn't show I did in the preview. Weird, but I see that it seems to have worked once listed.

Funny you should mentioned bottled water. Mucho years ago, when 'diet' coke first came out, hubby and I used to laugh about them canning zero calorie liquid, and then that we were stupid enough to buy it. He used to joke with friends: ... why don't they just put water in a bottle or can) and sell that. I remember others laughing about it. And then, lo and behold, what happened. The bottled water has become a multi million dollar business.

Do you remember the first time you saw 'The Graduate'. One of the funniest lines was when that guy was talking to Dustin Haufman, saying he had one word for him regarding the future. "Plastic". The way he said it, and the look on Haufmans face was one of the funniest lines in the movie imo. I remember the audience cracking up with laughter.(... me the loudest of all. I used to laugh 'til I teared up at funny scenes -- still do)

Well, the guy was right. Plastic has really taken over. I wonder if they knew it would then? ... and we all thought it was just a comical thing to say to a young, clueless guy fresh out of college.

... off into the world. I'm behind. The time change doesn't seem to have helped me at all.

Good day!

Looks like you think like other entrepreneurs, Carol...there are already canned air marketers out there...

Not sure of the logic, or if anyone buys it, but it does exist...

Meanwhile the LI medium is still a trip, but the season is over as of last night....

After a lost week, just about everyone around here is getting back on track...

Not those who have homes on the shoreline, which will take a long
time to get back in order, but for the most part CT fared much better than NY/NJ shoreline...

Oh the LI medium's voice is pretty
normal for those in NY/LI area....
a distinct accent!!...

Yep Chloe, and with those plastics come some scary toxins. You have to look at the little, difficult to read, number on the bottom of the plastic container. I can't remember which ones are safe and which one's aren't.

Things that are supposed to make our lives easier, have just made them more complex.

And Coreen, you think you guys have no accents.

I love the LI medium. There were several of her shows back to back but then the show...Breaking Amish..came on. Not as pleasant.

That's an idea Chloe. Reading always puts me to sleep also. I haven't really done any reading in years because I kept telling myself, if you want to read something, pull up those CE programs and read them. If you catch up with your hours there then you can read for fun. I finally caught up. Now that I'm retired, I can read for fun. I'm still learning to adapt to this new normal. I did do a lot of reading on the Internet but I didn't feel like that was cheating.

I have a parent trapped in my body, always fussing at me to do what a parent would be telling me to do. I know that sounds crazy. When will I be old enough to kick that parent out?

I went to one of the libraries in my section of town. It's a small library. It's been so long and things have changed. Last time I was in the library they had index cards in the card catalog. Now it's on the computer. Yes, it's been quite a while.

I got a library card and looked for that Abramoff book. I didn't expect to find it but I know they can order books that they don't keep. There were two copies in town but not close to my neck of the woods. I put a hold on it and I'll get an automated call when it comes in.

I went to get some Kitten Chow for the kitties so I will be ready. I thought that mama might also be able to use the extra protein that's in Kitten Chow. The other day I saw mama catch a little snake and eat it. I leave her plenty of food but maybe she needs more protein.

Mama kitty is very pretty and soft looking. I wish I could pet her. In the morning, when I first go out on the back porch she will run up toward me and let out a little meow, telling me she's ready for breakfast and then runs back. It's usually still dark. She does know who's taking care of her.

Just heard some crying kitty sounds again. I checked and big red, the biggest of the kitties had fallen off the wicker love seat they are up on. That kitty was heading out of the the little pool room. The door is open for mom to go in and out. Maybe that kitty did climb up into that flower pot after all. There's usually one kitty in a litter that is more precocious and curious than the others. That kitty would be high risk to be a possum victim.

I put a piece of plywood across the doorway. It's only about a foot high so mama kitty can jump over it.

LOL, I just looked at that oxygen ad you linked Chloe. Yep, people will buy anything.

"I have a parent trapped in my body, always fussing at me to do what a parent would be telling me to do. I know that sounds crazy. When will I be old enough to kick that parent out? "

Oh, Carol. I know what you mean -- I think that's actually our conscience. It doesn't sound crazy.

Maybe you could go about it differently. Instead of kicking that parent out, maybe you could just discuss a few things with her, tell her that you think she may have been wrong about a few things: and then maybe she'll let you go little by little... (and we can't forget those baby steps either).

I know it's a lot of work, because I've spent many years trying to accomplish the same thing. As we've all heard, it's very difficult to change, but we can change our habits (once we recognize the ones that are leading us in a somewhat painful, self destructive area). I guess when I say pain, I'm talking about the pain we allow our unconscious to inflict upon us, not realizing we can gently push those thought away, one by one.

The 'only' thing I'm sure of is that change can only happen when we're ready to make the decision that we 'deserve' happiness, and that maybe some of our 'habits' are interfering with that goal.

We can't change the world, but we sure can change the parts of it we focus on. I have no doubt that it works.

All that injustice out there in the world is not going to go away, and I think that if we focus on it too much, then instead of helping others, we end up destroying ourselves. I think therefore, we a to the problem, because our pity is not going to do anyone any good.

We do what we can, and we take care of ourselves, show ourselves kindness and generosity and forgiveness -- and in that way alone, the rest of the world will benefit from our struggles.

You better believe that mama cat knows who her best friend is right now. I think the kitten food is also good for the lactating mother too.

They get pregnant so young (and to me it's sad) but to them it's just the way things are. Just be glad she's a good mama to them, and realize you have made that possible. Without your help, she would have to eventually desert them in order to survive herself.

Don't be surprised if she moves the kitties periodically. If she see's danger, she may temporarily relocate.

I know for a fact they'll guard their offspring with their life, and are almost always successful.

Unknown said...

... when I say relocate, I mean very close by... she won't leave your area of protection.

She's adopted 'you' now.

"There's usually one kitty in a litter that is more precocious and curious than the others."

Yep, and that's the one who can easily get himself (usually it's a male) in trouble if he gets careless. Mama kitty will see to it that they're all protected. You've provided her with a safe corner to ward off predators (a tight spot a dog can't fit into is always best) and she will protect them with her life.

These young mother kitties do seem to have super powers. A feral cat will never become completely domesticated. But if you start handling the little ones fairly young, they learn to trust you.

Mama will hiss when you do it, and the kittens will dislike it at first. But once you accomplish trust from mama, she'll let you handle her little ones.
