Coreen, Beautiful pictures. Such a terrible, sad day.

Ten years later...and most everyone I know still remembers what they were doing that fateful morning...

One of the most touching memorials is the "Tribute in Light" which illuminates the NYC skies on September 11...I have only seen it on TV, each NYC newscast shows this on the night of September 11...

Today the National 9/11 Memorial is dedicated in Manhattan..the reflecting pools & waterfalls are a beautiful lasting tribute...

In Easton, as last year, & every year since 2001, the town firefighters put 343 flags representing those who perished trying to save others in the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001...

In Westport, CT, a Memorial to CT residents killed was built at Sherwood Island park which overlooks Long Island Sound, Connecticut's 9/11 Living Memorial...New this year is a sculpture made of burned and punctured aluminum pieces from the World Trade Center and a nameplate listing 153 Connecticut people who died in the attack.

As someone who lives much more distant from NYC, I am struck by how many people you lost in Connecticut to this disaster.

Anonymous said...

Jan, you said "When I look back over 10 years, it feels like a lifetime", yes it has been & yet it seems like it was just a blink of an
eye when the events of that horrible day in 2001 happened...

These pictures are from local newscasts, only
the Easton green flags are mine...I have been
to Sherwood Island, but didn't have my camera...

Yes, Jan, CT is like a suburb of NYC...particularly Fairfield County where I live...many people commute to NYC daily...New Jersey also lost many residents that fateful day as well...the Tri-State area NY-NJ-CT are
closely tied...Think I mentioned that TV newscasts & programming here comes from NY, I have at least 6 NY TV channels & most radio stations come from NY as well...

I did not mean to neglect the DC & PA events of 2001, however, for me, the destruction of the Twin Towers, buildings that were so much a part of the NYC skyline is just much closer
to those of us who grew up with them just being there...

Carol said...

Thanks Coreen for the post.

Updated the Tribute in Light pic...from last
night 9-10-11, showing the Freedom Tower illuminated in red, white & blue to the left of the pillars of light...

Yesterday I watched many programs about 911, many about the sacrifice of the firefighters and first responders. Again, I grieved for them and their families. I felt as bad yesterday as I did when it happened.

Those first responders have my greatest respect and admiration. They were running up when everyone else was running down. They are angels. I don't know how they have the courage to do that kind of job. You couldn't even get me to work in one of those buildings.

That's why I am so concerned that all the causes for the falling of those buildings is fully investigated. There are many architectual and scientific experts who feel those buildings shouldn't have fallen like they did. We owe those firefighters/first responders a thorough investigation. Maybe they shouldn't build buildings that tall.

I had a very uncomfortable feeling watching those towers drop so neatly to the ground and do it so soon after the planes hit the buildings. And building #7 also dropped like a rock? It didn't get hit by a plane! Those buildings were pulverizerd to dust.

Call me nuts if you wish.

Watching an old Marilyn Monroe and Joseph Cotten movie titled Niagra. Made in 1953. Interesting.

jan said...

Coreen, I don't know if you have seen the movie, Niagra but I am sure it was made at Niagra Falls. I bet you would like it. The one thing that disturbed me was that there is a newly married couple in the movie, neither one is Marilyn or Joseph and in several parts the young man completely discounted what his young wife was saying. It just exemplified how women were viewed by men in that era. The movie is a murder mystery and is very well done except for that part.

Anonymous said...

Don't really remember seeing the movie Niagra
Jan...My all-time favorite is Casablanca...

Anonymous said...

As far as Niagra Falls, I have visited there
both the Canadian/American sides...when I was
there you didn't need a passport to travel between, just drove across the bridge...the falls were impressive, loud & the visual from
the Canadian side (especially at night) just
beautiful...even took a ride on the Maid of the Mist & yes, got wet...

Also have been to the Grand Canyon, by way of Flagstaff....now that was impressive...just
peering over the edge (so to speak) seeing the
vastness of it, the colors along the sides, the depth...it just seemed like it went on forever...well one of the only times, I was
speechless....I did not go down into the Canyon though...

Anonymous said...

Carol, as far as the speculation about the causes of the collapse of the twin towers...no way will it ever be known, but as far as I am
concerned there was no conspiracy, no surreptitious bringing down of the buildings
by "whomever"...just a chain of events set in motion by those vile cretins...who I don't believe in their foggiest, demented thoughts could ever have imagined that their repulsive actions would have ended in such dramatic destruction...

jan said...

Carol, where are you?

jan said...

There sure has been a lot of stuff about the GOP candidates. I miss seeing you two discuss this. Hope you both are ok.

jan said...

I have had a headache for a couple of days. We had a leak in the bathroom at work last weekend and flooded the bldg. It is a mess. They are having to tear out walls now and will replace all of the carpet. I don't know if that has contributed to my HA or not. I did have meetings in the bldg mon and tues.

Anonymous said...

Hope there are no problems for you Carol, not like you to be away for so long...

Jan, hope the stresses of the week end & the weekend brings some relaxation...Hope you may have heard from Carol directly...

Here all is well...a brisk, crisp a.m. start to the weekend...

jan said...

Coreen, thanks for the kind words. Went to work yesterday and had a 3 hr meeting to go over policies and procedures. I love working with our young children and families and greatly dislike these meetings. I had stayed home Wed and managed to almost get rid of my headache and after yesterday's meeting, it returned - but not quite as bad.

jan said...

Coreen, how are you doing? Did you have any damage to your property as a result of Irene?

Anonymous said...

We escaped real damage thankfully...I do have
a 60-70' maple tree that fell just behind the house, at some point the tree guy will come & cut & chip it up...but it is not a priority, there are many with a lot more tree damage all around, so the tree guys are pretty busy right now...

While I am not a medical person, I would guess that your headaches may be from stress at work...

Still hoping to hear from Carol...Any chance
you spoke with her Jan?...

jan said...

Coreen, I did finally reach her. Not feeling great. I hope she will be back on here soon.

Glad your damage not too bad. I am staying home and taking it easy to get rid of this headache. Whenever I work on anything (just finished a little powerpoint for a presentation) it comes back. As long as I just veg around here I am fine. I guess that is the best excuse for doing absolutely nothing related to work.

It is the beginning of hot air balloon season. There were 3 going overhead this morning. It is a good time of year. I love the cool evenings and mornings. The balloons are a little bit of lagnappe. I probably misspelled that Carol. I need your help

jan said...

John's son is coming for a long weekend at the beginning of the balloon fiesta. I want to go this year. Unfortunately, John's son does not like to get up early.

You have to go out to the balloon park early -like about 5 am to really get the full effect of walking around and watching them stretch out the balloons on the ground and the process of blowing in the gas and then watching as they slowly rise from the ground until the ropes are let loose and they float upward. It is a real thrill to see several rise at the same time.

jan said...

Hey Carol, I am really missing you here. I click on here several times a day hoping to see your little avatar. Please come back.

'You must be,” said the Cat. 'or you wouldn’t have come here.'”

I just saw this posted on Facebook from my sister in law. I thought I would share it as it seems appropriate here. LOL

Hello..I think I'm back. I've been out on sick leave.

Two weeks ago I started having some low back pain and that's the only part of my back that didn't usually hurt. After a few days I realized it really wasn't my back but my guts that were hurting. I suffered thru that for a week. Stopped eating many of the things I ate thinking that maybe something wasn't agreeing with me. That didn't help.

Last weekend I stopped eating almost everything. Monday I couldn't even make it thru work so I came home and called my Doc. She scheduled a CT scan for Tues.

It turned out it was diverticulitis..which was one thing on my differential diagnosis but I just found out I had one diverticuli and thought what's the chance that would be the problem. It was. It's not fair that my illness had to effect my favorite activity..eating.

I do realize that stress is the biggest factor. It just finds a weakness to exploit and it found a new one. I did lose almost 8 lbs but I'd take them back to feel good again.

I missed almost all week at work last week but did go in to one clinic for several hours yesterday to knock out some of the charts I needed to go thru. I'm going back today to do the same in the other clinic. I still have a ways to go to be back to normal.

jan said...

yaayyy, Carol is back. 8 lbs is a lot to lose in a week or two. You need to take it easy for a while - Glad you are getting back to work in shifts. You are right about stress. It is bad for us especially as we get older.

Anonymous said...

Welcome home Carol...sorry to hear of your
medical problem...hopefully you are on the mend...vaguely recall someone mentioning that
your diet becomes important if you suffer with
diverticulitis...seeds, nuts, etc...

Carol said...

Well, I did three hours at work both yesterday and today just to clear out all the charts I had stacked up waiting for me. That should make tomorrow less intimidating. It took all I had just to do that. Just getting ready for work whips me but I'm feeling a tad more energy each day. My GI tract is far from normal. Can't wait until I can eat normal food again.

Coreen, I had been on a pistaschio binge for weeks prior to the problem but I just can't see that as the cause. But I will lay off those nuts.

Carol said...

My Saints won today and they looked good. I felt sorry for the Bears QB. Poor guy got stacked 5 times almost back to back.

Carol said...

I spent a lot of time watching TV the last two weeks and there wasn't much worth watching. The timing of my illness was bad. Next week the new season starts.

What do you guys think of the apple juice info that Dr. Oz came out with. I've always been impressed with his knowledge and I can't say that about many TV docs or any other docs.

I don't usually drink apple juice but had just bought some when I got sick. I was sticking to clear liquids. When I heard the info about it having arsenic, I thought..oh great. I was already feeling like I had been poisoned.

I looked it up and found out that 70% of our apple juice is imported from China. I hope more research is done on it because it is something that many children drink. I really don't think Dr. Oz would start that controversy unless he was concerned. It wasn't a popular controversy to stir up. When I find out that anything comes from China, I avoid it.

jan said...

Good to have you back Carol. I hate it when I go back to work after being gone for several days or more.

After Dr. Oz made those statements, a news alert came out that the FDA said there were different kinds of arsenic. I have to agree with you Carol, that I don't trust a lot coming out China. I would be cautious about giving little kids apple juice. Of course, pediatricians now do not recommend juice for kids anyway. The fruit itself is recommended. Juice is just too much sugar so they say.

jan said...

I think it is good to eat some nuts but it may not be good to eat too many. John ate a bunch of almonds one day and he had some intestinal pain from it. Now he eats a few at a time, but not very many.

jan said...

Watching the Emmy's. The Canadian guys are singing Hallelujah. They are showing the people in show bus who have died this year.

jan said...

The Canadian Tenors - that was a good choice for the memoriam.

Charlie Sheen was on earlier and was quite gracious and wished the new show - 2 1/2 Men the best.

jan said...

Jane Lynch is the MC this year. We love her. She was great as a therapist in 2 1/2 men. We watch Glee too - and she plays the leader of the cheerleaders. Her role is not that good.

Modern Family went away with most of the awards in comedy.

We also watch The Big Bang Theory and Raising Hope.

Carol said...

I made it back to work because I don't have any choice. I don't have any backup but I felt so bad I had a hard time finding any sympathy for anyone else.

I can't remember a job where I had time to be sick. It used to keep me well but this time it didn't work.

Carol said...

I didn't know the Emmy's were on last night. Was it on Fox? I did see the results this morning and was happy to see my Modern Family did so well. That was no surprise. It is the best comedy on TV. Have you seen Madmen?

There's a one hour special for both the Middle and Modern Family this week. I need a couple of hours of a good laugh. It does boost the immume system.

I also heard that Netflix is losing customers. I dropped them because I wasn't getting my money's worth before they raised the price. I didn't mind wasting the 10 bucks a month but when they went up, I dropped them like a hot potato.

Carol said...

Anyone worried about being sandwiched by a piece of falling space junk? They kept saying there was a 1 in 3200 chance. That didn't sound good. Later they said it was much higher.

I just Googled it and the 1 in 3200 is the chance that someone on earth will be hit. Still not good.

Carol said...

Coreen, I just heard that one of your boys, Mo, holds the records for saves. Now explain that to me. What is a save?

Carol said...

I did see Charlie's little gesture from last night. It looks like he has cleaned up his act. He had to, he was losing....everything.

Carol said...

You do know that DWTS starts tonight?

Anonymous said...

Hey Carol, glad to see you are on the way back...

Yes, trying to watch DWTS...so far Chynna & Kristen or Kirsten have lots of potential...Nancy Grace just finished she managed to do ok...was a bit surprised she is
pretty chubby...doesn't seem so on her show...maybe she wears a full body Spanx...

The emmys of what little I saw during commercials was pretty dull...don't watch either of the major wins mad men or modern family...

Carol said...

Coreen, you ought to check out Modern Family at least once. It is hilarious.

If Nancy lasts very long she will lose some of that weight.

Carol said...

I don't think Nancy can count on a vote from Casey Anthony.

Carol said...

I watched the interviews of the Anthony GPs on Dr. Phil. Didn't learn much new, just what I already suspected. Cindy still in denial but she is a mom and George saw thru Casey way before she did in her daughter.

jan said...

Carol, I have watched the interviews with the Anthonys and I think George is lying through his teeth.

jan said...

Dr. Phil reported that the jury forman said the jury did not believe George's testimony.

jan said...

watching DWTS.

Carol said...

Too many dancers to keep up with. Least fav tonight is that Kardashian. So far, I'd knock him out.

Anonymous said...

Mariano Rivera...simply the best...there has never been a closer as great as he is, nor will
another come along in my lifetime...

And today in the Stadium he had his 602nd save & now holds the record for most saves by a relief pitcher ever!!!...that record most likely will never be matched...

I have had the great pleasure of watching him play since 1996 when he set up for then closer Jon Wetland & then became the Yankees closer...

Mo has given us Yankee fans so many thrills & victories over the years, its been like just get the game to Mo & we win!!!...

What is a save....a relief pitcher finishes a game his team is ahead in & 'saves' the win for
the pitcher who is the pitcher of record when the team takes the lead...there are a couple of conditions...like you can't get a save if the lead if more than 3 runs when he comes in to the game...or its a save when he comes into the game when the tying run is on base, at bat or on deck & keeps the lead for his team...

Carol said...

Jan, Casey's attorney planted that thought in the jury from the get go and it worked for some.

I believe George for the most part. He isn't the best of characters but that is why he saw thru his daughter so well. He understood her. The only time I think he lied is, maybe, about the affair. I could see lie written all over his face then and hear it in what he said. He's not a good liar.

Interesting to see how differently we see things. I think our previous life experiences play a role in how differently we view things.

Anonymous said...

Missed the middle of DWTS, had to watch 2-1/2 men & I missed portions of that by a phone call...they may have managed to pick up the pieces w/o Charlie Sheen though...John Cryer
does a good job with his part...will have to wait & see about Ashton Kutcher though...you know I don't like guys with long hair & beards...but maybe it will work...

Carol said...

Thanks for that BB info Coreen. I know nothing about BB.

Anonymous said...

Saw Rickie Lake & JR Martinez dancing their
waltzes, both did well, JR may have staying power, not so sure about Rickie...they saved Chaz Bono for last...now why would that be the plan...maximum hype!!

Anonymous said...

Well Chaz did ok too...if he stays on the show can we expect to see his mom...who you know is one of my favs...

Now its time for the new season of 5-0, my kinda show & my kinda guy...McGarrett...

Carol said...

That JR really impressed me. One of the best tonight.

Carol said...

I'm behind because of the phone also. Still dealing with SF problems. I think he is the straw that's breaking this camel's back. I dumped the responsibility on his nephew but that didn't get me out of much of the decisions, work and stress. I just can't seem to unload any of this crap.

Carol said...

Rickie did better than I expected.

Carol said...

I'm sure it's not easy for those full figured girls and guys, they have more weight to carry.

jan said...

you all are way ahead of me. We are an hour behind. We taped 2.5 men. So far the dances are pretty good for the first night.

Carol said...

Chaz did well considering how much weight he is carrying around.

Carol said...

I recorded 2 and 1/2 and 2 broke girls to watch later this week.

jan said...

I really like the soccer player, Hope. I want to see how she does in this.

jan said...

I think I will tape 2 broke girls too. that just looks too funny.

Anonymous said...

Well maybe they picked so many chubettes this season since Kirstie Alley lost so much weight...DWTS can be the new weight loss thing...better than all those diets, nutrasystem et al....

jan said...

I have not seen the 2nd interview of the Anthony's as yet, but I just felt George way lying about everything.

jan said...

...in the first interview.

Carol said...

I voted.

Carol said...

This might sound bad Jan, but I think there are times when lying ain't such a bad thing and that's when the truth is nobody's damn business. I do think that maybe George lied about his affair with that woman. It really wasn't pertinent to Casey's case, wasn't the world's business and with all that he was going thru and with the way Cindy was acting, I could see him needing some sympathy. Just my opinion.

Carol said...

Now I'm crawling off to bed.

jan said...

Sorry Carol, I don't have any sympathy for George - I think he "threw his daughter under the bus." Plus, I think he is lying big time to Cindy.

jan said...

Yeah, but lying under oath is a different thing. I hold mature adults more responsible than younger adults. I think Casey was protecting her father.

jan said...

Have you really heard his suicide note. I think It says a lot by what it is not saying.

jan said...

I didn't vote as I really don't care at this point. I will vote when I really care about who stays on. I like some of them for their dancing and some because I think they deserve to stay based on effort. I want to get to know them better.

jan said...

Are you feeling any better Carol?

Coreen, are you watching 2 1/2 men. I do think Ashton Kutcher is a "hunk" I like that he is married to an older woman too.

Anonymous said...

Jan, yes I watched 2 1/2 men, but not really close, busy gabbing on phone during some of it...

What I saw was ok, liked the way they introduced kutcher with Alan dumping Charlie's
ashes...will have to wait & see how the show
goes...it did get huge ratings...almost 28 million viewers, big ratings in the different
demo groups that count...

As far as Kutcher, he is definitely not my idea of a hunk or anything else...he is too pretty, too babyface looking, not a guys' guy as far as I'm concerned...(Carol, I know you would already know that the Kutcher type guy would never appeal to me)...

but I have no problem with him being married to a woman 10+ years older than him...Demi
Moore, Bruce Willis' ex wife...

Now I do like just about all of Willis' movie roles (the Die Hard series)...a true guy's guy...& his first tv series 'Moonlighting' was one of my all-time favs...loved his relationship with cybil shephard (david & Maddie) in that series...

Anonymous said...

OK...are we up for the premier of the X-Factor
tomorrow, a 2 nite premier?....does it surpass AI?...Here's a clip from it...& yes I thought the 40 yr old woman seeing Natural Woman for her audition was fantastic...just listening to her hit those high notes gave me a chill...my kind of singing...
X-Factor promo

jan said...

Coreen, yes I plan to watch X factor - I did like Simon and Abdul together. They added to the entertainment value of Idol plus, although Simon was pretty harsh sometimes, I liked his honesty. thanks for the clip - now will watch it.

Carol, I watched the 2 girl show. Was not impressed. Just a lot of one-liners.

jan said...

Me too Coreen - I will watch the 21st.

Carol said...

Totally disagree on CA. Dr Phil also thinks George is on the level and I think he is fairly insightful. He talked about it several times in his promos for the interviews with the Anthonys. I think Cindy is the better liar in the family. She wore the pants in that family.

Dr Phil had three different interviews with the Anthonys. He said that most people would change their opinion of George after. They didn't change my opinion, they reinforced it. I'm not saying that he was a model person. He did have many problems. Cindy was the main breadwinner. He had that gambling problem and they separated for about 6 months.

When Cindy was asked if she had any doubts that George could have molested Casey, Cindy said she had no doubts. She said Casey didn't want him to come back home after he left and if there was anything to the molestation, it would have been the perfect opportunity for Casey to say something then. Cindy said she would have killed George if anything like that ever happened.

I think Casey didn't want George to come home because he was tougher on her than her mom. He didn't put up with her BS, which is more common with fathers, at least in my experience. Cindy said that even though they didn't get along, Casey totally trusted her father to take care of little Caylee all the time.

In those jailhouse letters Casey wrote, she could have told her friend that her father molested her. She didn't have any problem saying that her brother tried to molest her and she is closest to him. She only mentioned that she had a dream that something might have happened with her father.

And I think it was Casey who threw her father under the bus to save her ass..and it worked.

Carol said...

I did watch 2 and 1/2 last night. I liked everything about it except Ashton. Didn't care for him at all. The other brother was funny.

They said they killed Charlie's character off so he couldn't come back to the show but I did notice a possible opening. He was supposedly pushed in front of a train by his stalker and they said his body exploded. Well....since his body was mangled, they could come back later and say it wasn't actually him that died, that she killed the wrong person. That is, if things don't work out with Ashton.

I wasn't a big "men" fan before and I certainly wouldn't watch it again. I think that there were others in last night's audience who just wanted to see what the new version was all about.

And Jan, I did like the 2 Broke Girls show. It was cute, not killer, but cute.

Carol said...

I watched the clip of X factor. It's on Fox and that's not on my Dish Network. I can get it by changing to antennae but my other favorite shows are on that night. I'd have to record my favs and watch the Factor. I don't know.

Simon seemed a little kinder than usual.

Carol said...

And Jan, there are people who think that women just aren't capable of such awful crimes against children especially their own children, but the news right now is full of them. My jail is full of them. And they don't look like monsters.

Carol said...

There was just a woman arrested here recently who was charged with dipping her foster child's feet into boiling water. They showed a picture of the little child with the skin hanging off both lower legs. I guess she had a bad day.

Carol said...

I do hope all the chubettes live on tonight to dance off some of those pounds. Kirstie looks so good.

Wouldn't mind losing Rob or Elizabetta. World Peace was on the bottom of the pile but hate to do away with World Peace.

Carol said...

Maybe Ron changed his name to World Peace because he thought that no one would want to vote against world peace.

Carol said...

Well, so much for......

Anonymous said...

Not really a big loss though...& chubettes live on to dance another day...

& oh forgot from the other day...about apple juice, dr. oz, yada,yada,yada...I love my Simply Apple...it is just fantastic...don't care what he claims...

jan said...

Carol, I watched the interviews and I stand by my opinion. The jury also acquitted her. We are just going to have to agree to disagree.

Yes, I have seen in our paper the terrible things some women do to their children and yes I do agree that women can kill their children.

I think the model will go soon.

jan said...

Too much DWTS tonight. We taped the final show and then zipped through the stuff to the end. They are making it too long.

jan said...

You are right about 2... Men. It is just not as good with Charley. Ashton just does not fit.

jan said...

...correction - without Charley.

jan said...

too much TV tonight. I just have to cut something out.

Carol said...

Jan..I now prefer to record everything I watch so I can zip thru it. I'm so spoiled to doing that with the DVR. I also like to be able to pause and go backward if I need to. I'm so spoiled to that that when I'm listening to the radio in my vehicle..I will sometimes momentarily think I can do it also with the radio.

Carol said...

On "Men"..it seemed that all Ashton did was stand around naked so the rest of the cast could make comments on the size of his penis.

I'm not sure they can count on the size of the first audience to last. If you two "Men" fans didn't like it as much..I'd guess many others didn't either.

Carol said...

I think that Ron..aka World Peace..was the best choice to leave DWTS but just figured that his being an athlete would save him. Athletes do seem to have a large fan base.

I was worried that Nancy was going to be the first to get the boot. She was also. I think she got a good dose of humble pie last night. She can be an arrogant bitch but I have to give her credit for doing something totally out of her comfort zone.

Carol said...

I'm feeling much better today, almost normal, maybe better. I hope it lasts. Shortly after I got up and cleared the usual, just got up, misery, I felt like someone flipped a switch. It did last throughout the day. I even want something normal to eat.

Carol said...

I'm looking forward to my one hour episodes of my two comedies tonight. First the Middle and then Modern Family. I don't like the Middle as much as Modern Family but it's cute enough.

Tonight, Ray Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond is going to guest star on the Middle. The Middle wife used to be Raymond's wife on that show.

I guess I'll miss X Factor since it's on at the same time. Let me know how good it was. Last year was the first year I even watched AI.

Carol said...

They might be executing an innocent man tonight but for some Conservatives that's no big deal. Many, actually most, who testified against the condemed man have since recanted their testimony.

Our criminal justice system is just too effed up to use decisions made by that system to kill someone.

jan said...

Good to hear you are feeling better Carol. Improvement in your appetite is a good sign.

jan said...

John and I both signed petitions for stay of execution for the man in GA. This too is why I am against execution. I think prison with no chance of parole is ok. Somehow I just think execution is so barbaric.

jan said...

I too am looking forward to Modern Family - hour long tonight. I watched some reruns of the Middle this summer. It is cute - just not as good writing.

jan said...

Like you Coreen, I thought Jon Cryer and the others in cast did a good job. The sad part is that Charley and the cast were such a good team.

jan said...

Harry's Law is on at same time as X factor and Modern Family. Can only tape 2. Hmmm. I am going for X factor and MF.

Carol said...

I'd record X Factor also if I had Fox on my Dish but I don't and I don't want to wait until later to see my comedies.

Carol said...

Jan, I wish you would have told me about the petition. I think it might be too late now. Where did you find it?

Carol said...

You're right Jan. The writers for the Middle aren't very good.

jan said...

Sorry Carol, John sent it to me. I will remember to send something to you like this. Shame on me :(

jan said...

Sent it. Hope not too late.

jan said...

I keep e-mails much too long.

jan said...

No age limit on X factor. The first one to audition to night was a 70 y/o man and his 83 y/o wife. Pretty bad. Nothing good yet.

Carol said...

Well, there's still time for us to learn to sing.

jan said...

Geez there were some really bad singers. Did you see the guy that dropped his pants. Paula left - said he made her sick.

jan said...

We will finish X factor and then watch taped Modern Family tomorrow. I am TV'd out.

Congrats Coreen. I've been hearing about them pulling away from the pack.

Gosh..what would we do without small aggravations? It's lovebug season. Twice a year..April and Sept.. these little black bugs.. that spend most of their short life attached to a parner..are flying around wrecking havoc.

We have been very lucky in that for the last two years there were very few of them that showed up. I had almost forgot about them until a few days ago when they showed up again.

This season they are awful..must be making up for lost time. They seem to be worse out where I live. It was like a blizzard of bugs. They were so bad out in my yard yesterday that when I walked Maggie..I couldn't even open my mouth. I had to breath easier so I wouldn't suck one up my nose.

They manage to find any places around windows to crawl in the house or they fly in when the door is open. Everytime I fixed a drink last night..a short time later..there was a lovebug floating in it.
