I didn't fall in love with cats until after I was 30. Then I fell hard. The pictures you posted say it all, show everything it is that make them so beautiful.
I love everything about them, their attitude and independence, their sleekness, their abilities, their cuddliness (of course we humans only cuddle with the little ones!), everything. I can't imagine my life without my furry friends.
As usual, you've given me so much to think about today. I feel the same way about the friends we've made here online. (... I think you forgot Coreen, but I know it was just a quick oversight. She knows we love her too).
I'm dubious about what you have to go through to stop smoking. I don't like to think about you suffering any more than you have to. I don't have restless leg syndrome (I think Jan mentioned something like it before), but I do know the 'cringing' feeling.
Whatever you decide, whatever you do, I only have one suggestion. Don't be hard on yourself. If you falter, than so be it. If you succeed, wonderful, but do whatever you want/need to do to cope. It's your life.
Solar, when you're ready to post that wonderful Tai Chi post of yours, I'm sure anyone here will be glad to help you figure it out, if you've forgotten some of the details. Just ask!
At some point in the future, if you don't do it, I'll just break it up and put it all in the comment area.
It's Emma's birthday today, so I'd best get moving. I gave her the good wishes you sent the other day. Thanks, they were appreciated.
Oh lordy, 5 years down and about 13 to go before she's anywhere near adulthood (ha... I'd hardly call 18 an adult). She is the center of our world, though. Love will see us through!
Carol… I agree with Chloe… remember not to be too hard on yourself. Everyone has some sort of vice as a coping method. I like anthropology… and I've read in several books that all cultures have some sort of drug/and or/alcoholic drink that's used regularly. It seems to be hardwired into us.
I got my first cat at the age of 8… I've had them in my life ever since. I can't imagine my life without at least one cat.
Yes Chloe, ice listed Solar's email address inviting him to be in Arthur they will have to blogger will have to send him an invitation and he'll have to respond to it to get on the list
Renee, beautiful pictures of our feline friends. I am a lifelong dog person. Cats are beautiful and so independent. So many of my loved ones have and love cats - my sister, a favorite granddaughter and you all here too. When my youngest son was growing up and we did not have a fenced in yard we had a cat. My son and husband petted the cat but she would not come near me so I did not feel bonded to her.
Carol, I have restless leg syndrome. It was much worse when my knee hurt so bad. My son, Bill has it too. Mine is much worse when traveling or when I am too sedentary. I do a lot of chores an hour before bed where I am on my feet and that helps me a lot. It definitely happens at night. As a result I toss and turn.
I quit smoking many times. I cannot even remember how many. One thing I would suggest is if you really want to quit and the woman you are thinking of as a roommate smokes, it will make it make much harder for you to quit. My sister still smokes and for years after I quit, when I was with her I wanted a cigarette. Please keep trying. You do need a support group to stop. Let us be your support group.
i dont know how i could have forgotten coreen. Im using a microphone and it puts up all kinds of crazy lettter. I have to erase many of them. That might have been what happened.
Yes Dan I woke up in the middle night with my left leg trying to run out of the house I had to hold back. I've been getting on the treadmill and walking for 15 minutes I don't know if that has anything to do with it but my suggested maybe I'm low on potassium I'll need to get some bananas. Anyone talk to Tiffany. Tiffany I sure appreciate if you would post a comment or is it that you can't get on I know there are problems sometimes getting into this blog.. We'd love to have a new member of our blog get a little insight from someone else. Where do you live?
Not to say that I don't appreciate all the inside I get from the regulars on this blog we have a very good group of people.. I feel guilty for smoking this morning but just couldn't handle that restless legs business. I took an Ambien last night to try to put that leg to sleep. It did help. Because I was ready to cut it off.
I got a text from my potential housemate and she indicated she was interested in sharing the place with me that's good news. I hadn't heard from her so I was a little worried
I missed my doctors appointment today I haven't been in to keep up with my appointment ever since I switched cell phones from my iPhone to a Samsung. I really hate my Samsung but the new iPhone was nothing like the Olld one was . It was more like the Samsung. Don't understand why they have to change a good thing.
I just finished talking to my new roommate to be and she's ex military and very organized now so she comes in this hous she may run scared but if I can convince her to come and stay here and it has somebody help me organize this dump
I wrote Tiffany last night, but haven't heard back from her yet.
Hope things work out with the room mate plans. Just take it slow, maybe give it a trial period to make sure it works out well for you. It's hard to tell how things will work out until you actually try them.
Regarding Coreen, I do the same thing texting and commenting. Never know what the finished product will look like. End up leaving out things I meant to say, and adding other things that don't necessarily belong. Not even going to mention how I leave off the end of words, use the wrong tense or suffix... my mistakes are endless. Hope you guys correct things for me as you struggle through the mistakes.
... I don't know if I think faster than I type (probably) or type faster than I think. I think I just change my mind in the middle of sentences and change the last half so it often doesn't match the first half. I hate to proof read (until it's too late) for some reason.
I'm totally with you sister, we' ve all had to develop some ESP for each other. Funny thing is that I can't even figure out what I've written most of the time. Tiffany probably thinks we are writing in another language. It's supposed to be English Tiffiny even if it doesn't resemble it.
Chloe I still can't type with my left hand left hand keeps inhibiting many of the role the wrong keys. Pic either type with one finger aor usethe microphone. The microphone makes a lot of mistakes is difficult to get the cursor where I need to change in the words.
Carol, you're doing great on the posting and typing. A lot of people do and always have pecked away on a typewriter with only two fingers. Whatever works!
The voice activated typing is like a relationship. You learn how to talk so it understands you and it seems to learn about you too (I've heard it has a bit of a memory). But, like everything it will never be perfect. It's best to not get in a hurry, and to say each word distinctly and slowly (although it will pick you up even talking fast and easy, just has trouble with some of our words... don't forget we have habits of speech that are different from others sometimes).
To me, going back to correct it (if I remember to) is fairly simple. I use voice activated for texting, because I don't like pecking away on a touch screen... it annoys me. I'd rather say it quickly, and then go back and touch the word I want to correct. Often it will highlight an alternative, and I can click that without even typing again.
I think it's like accents. Sometimes I have trouble understanding people with accents. I think that's what our voice activation is doing. Trying to understand our personal pronunciation of specific words. If you talk fast like me, I know that others are sometimes challenged to understand some of my words.
Keep with it. It's also good exercise for our brains.
What you said about the difficulty of getting the cursor where you want it is true. But just remember you have to highlight the whole word to even change this the first letter. Mine, at least, want just point to the one letter, so I highlight the word, and type right over the highlight with the spelling I want. If you want to change multiple words, just touch the eng of it, then delete backwards (the IPhone has an X for backspace delete) to the word where you want to restart.
Just keep playing around with it. The challenge is good, and eventually rewarding.
I'm really excited about my potential new roommate. But I'm afraid she may be frightened off after she sees the clutter in my house. With all of my ailments I physically cannot get into those rooms in move that clutter. She did tell me she was ex-military and she was good at organizing things. I don't want her to think I'm getting her here to be my maid and caretaker. I do not plan on charging her any rent or utilities. Her contribution could be helping me organize the place. Maybe she will find that desirable.
Anyone familiar with the tablets for windows. I'm ready to go back to a Windows product product instead of Apple. I do like the tablet for it's portability.
Rent and utilities is a good salary for someone to help you out, Carol. Although, rather than a salary, it could be more like an exchange of value for value... a benefit for everyone involved. To me, that's the best kind of relationship, both parties benefiting somewhat equally. No one gets a free ride in this world (except children), so looks like it could be the beginning of something good.
Don't worry about it though. If she doesn't work out, someone else will come along.
You said you had Toshiba last time. I'm sticking with them until they give me a reason to not to. They're a good value and last a long time... at least so far that's been my personal experience. Until I find out differently, I'm sticking with them.
A small laptop is portable like a notebook, so you needn't limit yourself to one that calls itself a 'notebook' necessarily. Not doing so will widen your choice range. Why not start out researching on your computer. Amazon is a good place to start, as they give you in depth descriptions of most products. But you can also go the official sites of the different brands of computers.
You might want a decent size screen to leave at home, since you already have the Ipad to travel. Works for me... but your choices are limitless. Sometimes the only way to learn is to trial and error.
Warning: Windows 8 is so different, that I just can't get used to it. I'm going to put Windows 7 on my new computer... it's much more user friendly IMO.
The only one who has been a little negative about my roommate idea is my older sister but then she can't stand companionship for more than a day or two. It may be because she was an only child for six years before my sister and I came along. Since I was born a twin even had company in the uterus I need to have somebody around. I found that is difficult for me to enjoy anything without being able to share with another person.
Jan I've had a roommate for a good bit of my life except I haven't since mom died. My ex pool man/boatmen visit yesterday. He finally got released from jail for his DUI charge. He told me that he wasn't intoxicated when he was stopped by the cop. He said he burned his lungs when he inhaled some chlorine gas while cleaning the pool. He couldn't breathe into the breathalyzers for the cop so the cop assumed he was not trying? The cop assumed he was not trying. He asked for a blood alcohol test but they wouldn't do that. Because of his previous DUI charges the police assume he was guilty.
Carol… I wish you all the best if you do get that roommate. I've never lived alone… and I don't think I'd like it.
Coreen… I'm glad the Jets gave a contract extension to Rex. If they had axed him, I'm sure another team would have scooped him up very quickly to be their defensive coach.
Carol, when I get back today, I'm going to check out that luminosity brain training (I need all the help I can get).
I also have a couple of suggestions for you to check out on either Netflix or Amazon... a couple of series I think you may like because they're less depressing (imo). It's hard to find the interesting ones.
Don't forget, if you have Amazon prime (and I think you said you do) you can stream a lot of series from there for free (I'll pay for the new DA though, so I can watch it early on without commercials and waiting a week in between episodes... it's cheap, anyway).
I started a series last night on Netflix and the streaming quality (bad picture!) was so bad, that I decided to go over to Amazon streaming to see if they had it. Bingo... they did. The quality was so good on the stream over there (and free, also!) I think I'm going to be pushed to use Amazon more and more, because of this. Plus they have a lot more of the new stuff. I will cross-check on the things I watch though, looking for the best value.
... oh, and Carol, don't forget. Your Vizeo should have a direct connection to Amazon streaming. If you push on your TV Amazon button, it 'should' have instructions. I have a Sharp TV, and so had to get a Roku to link to Amazon. They had a contract with Vizeo, but not sharp (yet). I do LOVE my Sharp TV, though! It's got the quad color.
Chloe… I'm on my friend's list of those who will help…. she has other friends and family members. I helped her the first 2 days of this week. She says if she spreads things around, then no one will feel overwhelmed. I remember a few yrs ago when I helped my parents… I was the only family member that lived near them and at times I definitely felt overwhelmed. My friend, Cathy, is smart to not let that happen. Right now I'm very busy weaving. But I will make sure she's fine and call her next week.
As for the conversation about roommates - I have lived with others most of my life and the 6 years in which I lived alone, I did not like it. When not living with a spouse of family, it is nice to share space with someone as long as there is some compatibility. I shared a house, an apartment and a condo with other grad students when in Austin and enjoyed it very much. We were all in the "same boat" so to speak, and enjoyed each others company. It sure helped out finances too - which was the reason for sharing space.
My reason Janice to be less fearful. Also I was very lonely before. I hope she likes Downton Abbey, the Big Bang, and modern family. If she doesn't I can always record them. I plan to be flexible.
My sister said she was lonely after her husband died. She lived alone for a year - the first time in her life that she lived alone. She moved in with her daughter and family a year later and seems to be content for the most part.
It's a shame my sisters and I can't spend more time together without wanting to harm one another I could live with my brother-in-law Oh well but he just a human being he just wants to do everything for everybody and he has a hard time sitting down relaxing and that bothers mei actually mom used to complain to me that that's the way I was when I had the have high thyroid level,. Killing my thyroid and smashing my three thoracic vertebrae. Pretty much did me in f I was sure that I developed the hyperthyroid to keep up with everything that I needed to do for good. But it got to the place where was putting to much stress on my heart and bones. I knew after I sandwiched those three thoracic vertebrae that my life would never be the same. The pain was greater than I could tolerate or would want to tolerate.
I really like that videos of Qi gong that solar linked.I was doing it every day but. It's aproblem for me if any activity requires swing arm exercisesanything and that exercise does. The arms swinging movement since that's right adjacent to my thoracic vertebrae it stirs up painthere and then that stuff for the rest of the day so I didn't do it today and I really miss doing glad like the exerciselifting something over 10 lbs also sets it off. Much of my depression is/was due to the fact that my activities would forever be limited.,limiting many of the chores and recreation I need or love to do. Even standing a a counter preparing food for kitchen. Sens me to the couch o a chair to rest the area. I'm going to stick to stick to walking and deep breathing exercises those activities cause no problems
Corine remind me what you use for juicing. was it the bulletq? did buy a juicer but it's a lot of work to use itywith all the parts if you going to put together and take apart the plane and it takes out a lot of the fiber that I'd like it I like to keep. Many fruits and vegetables have anti-inflammatory properties which I'd like to use to make juice. I can't take anti-inflammatory medication because of what it does to my stomach
Today I'm supposed to meet my potential new roommate I'm going to meet her at my camp at 1 o'clock I thought that would be less intimidating camp is not as cluttered and it has a nice guestroom. I thought we could stay at the camp until he had time to unclutter my house..
Carol, 'IF' it's right, then it 'will' work out. If it's 'not' right, it won't (sorry, but I only have a couple of ways to emphasize words on a keyboard).
Remember, this is beneficial to her also. Don't start thinking the load is all on you, it's not. You're trying to put all the weight on your shoulder alone, again. A room mate relationship needs to be somewhat 50/50. People on the outside may not see it, but you two must draw something from it that is, in some way/some how, equal.
If it's right, it'll happen. Stop pressuring yourself and stop worrying. Remember: You're number 1!... like it or not.
Amazon new series cost about 1.99 each (more for HD), but the series I'm talking about have been running for years and the old seasons are free if you have Prime (for free deliveries, etc.). Most of what Netflix shows is older. Otherwise, if it's new, they have you pay for a DVD plan.
You'll have to pay to watch the new season, but you'll have a choice. You can wait a few months (or year) until it's not new anymore, and therefore free.
These are three I like that you might want to check out, Carol.
'Longmire' is one that I really loved. It shoots in Wyoming, and is very involved in the Indian culture there. Like 'Glades', the lead guy is Australian (although you'd never know it).
I started with season 4 on 'Damages' because the others seem too far back (for my taste) and therefore out dated. I've just seen 5 episodes of it.
'Lie to me', I've only seen 3 episodes. Longmire, I've finished, and am anxiously waited for the to begin shooting the next season.
My favorite of all is JUSTIFIED, but I watched all the seasons, and now it is in a new (pay for) season, which I can only see once a week (or on direct TV, with commercial... nothing is worth watching with commercials, imo). I'd rather pay, if I can't wait until the season is done.
Carol, its a nutribullet, $99 at walmart, kohls, target or from a tv infomercial...you might get it cheaper at kohls with coupons & if you get weekly store flyers, this week target may have them with some sort of discount...
It is so easy, just load it, add water, fasten the blade section, lock in the base, twist & it makes the drink...cleanup is no problem...
Comes with a book with many recipes...the smoothie effect is from using a banana, which seems to be in virtually all the recipes...so far I only use spinach, berries (raspberry/strawberry) banana & must add some water...but there are other choices...
tried using kale, but to bitter for my taste...not so bad when mixed with spinach, but just don't like kale...if the mix is not sweet enough, you can add honey (but I don't like it really sweet)...
Renee, you know I love the cats...remember I can't resist any leopard print things...
As far as the Jets & Ryan, whatever, they just need to field a winning team, until then, NY fans will not be satisfied...
And have not much interest in the football games...but the week has been spent on NY radio comparing Manning to Brady...& as one of the hosts said if you came from another planet you would think that peyton manning is some rookie qb who never won a championship before, & yes I know the stats about manning v. brady, so I guess it will be interesting...if I had to choose, well you already know which team it would not be...remember us leopards don't change our spots, especially to jump on someone else's bandwagon!...
During the Christmas season, a guy was at Costco demonstrating a machine called the vegomax (I think). It is a commercial blender that you can blend anything such as raw carrots, celery, etc. It cost $450. at that time. The product would be all the pulp as well as juice. Cleanup is easy. You don't take it apart to clean. I want one of those.
John had a juicer once and I hated it. It made such a mess and you threw away a lot of food.
So sorry about your mom Solar. It's a difficult loss to deal with.
I think it's a go for my new potential roommate. I made such a big deal about my house neing a wreck that she was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as bad as she imagined. That was my plan, LOL.
Thanks for the info re the blenders. I'll check into them. I don't care for kale much either but I think I could sneak it in as part of a juice.
but saw an ad just this a.m. for "Dole Shakes" fruit & fruit/veggie frozen drink that you add juice to & it makes a power shake...Maybe it's worth a try...will have to check it out if it's available at the local grocery store...
And forgot to mention there is a new HBO series "True Detective" about a serial killer investigation, that started last Sunday stars Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson, it takes place in Louisiana Carol & I believe the writer grew up in Lake Charles...
Forgot if you get HBO though...
There is another TV series that was a big hit on SHO, the 2nd season to start in the spring..."Ray Donovan" about a Hollywood fixer,...not sure but it's 1st season is likely available on whatever way you guys are binge watching these series that have already played on different cable channels...
I spent the night at the camp last night a friend of mine who loves the camp stayed with me with her puppy dog. Her puppy dog is a serious Barker. That is is the only problem. she did try threateningly him with a rolled up paper. He did stay quiet while out of his kennel but when she puts him in a kennel at night because he is cHews, He barked all night. He is just a puppy.
solar, I love that Qi gong but it stirs up my back pain and I can't get rid of it all day. I end up having to take more pain meds and I don't want to do that. Any active arm movement does the same thing or if I lift and carry a bunch like groceries. I did that yesterday. And the same thing happened. I will continue my walking that's good also and doesn't hurt my back.
I don't get hbo or sow time. I gave them up because I never watched them. I'm now paying for a subscription to Dish for my BIL so I can't afford to add any mor to my bill.
Thanks, Carol… yep… Manning and the Broncos were awesome. Both Rick and I had a feeling that the Patriots would lose this game. It's ok… we had a blast watching them this season.
Honestly… after watching both games, I don't see the Seahawks beating the Broncos. But you know what they say about any given game. We'll know the outcome in 2 weeks.
"Trust in the synchronicity of the universe. When you begin to open up to the idea that your intention attracts the right people and circumstances into your life, then it truly seems like magic happens. You create abundance in ways that go way beyond money. You receive guidance from sources that couldn’t possibly have randomly crossed your path. You meet just the right person to partner with or to help each other grow through the most unlikely of circumstances. stead of seeing these things as unrelated random acts and that you just happen to be lucky, see the entire realm of possibilities you can experience. All it takes is a strong desire and a focused intention on what you want to create. If it is for the benefit of all and not just a selfish desire, then the universe will conspire to help you. It doesn’t require a detailed road map. A clear focus on the destination is all that is needed. Let the universe create the most delightful and unexpected path to get there that will be far more adventurous and amazing than your mind could ever imagine. Use our mind to visualize, then just follow your heart and see what magical places your path might lead."
New roommate came over and helped me go thru all the crap in one room. Threw away most of it. Giving the rest to goodwill. She is going to work out great. Synchronicity plus!!
Carol, I need you to send your new roomy over here, when you're done. I'm on the verge of finally starting, myself. I'm going to throw away about half of what I've got too. Then I'm going to get someone to come in and clean once a week. That should keep things in order.
When's your roomy moving in? Happy things are working out.
Your sister is right on, Carol. That thing about intention attracting the right people and circumstances is real close to what you and I talked about on the phone that time. Look how far you've gotten.
I couldn't agree with your sister (and you) more! We tend to get whatever it is we expect.
I'm so glad you shared her letter with us. I need to be hit over the head and reminded often. Knowing it and using it as often as I should are two different things. It amazes me that I slack off so much. What I need to do is write my goals onto some index cards and read them daily. I did that many years ago, and there wasn't a thing I wrote that didn't eventually happen. The repetition makes it real, and only when it's real... it happens.
Everything that manifests in our life takes route in this way, but we just don't take enough control. Therefore, bad thoughts come true also. It's all about control. You've both inspired me to take hold of the reigns again.
Anyone see the August...movie? Big sis said it was the best movie shes seen all year. Im going tomorrow to see it. She said it was a little painful to watch. Wouldnt say why.
Carol, That movie does look good. I'm thinking of going to a movie Friday (my usual day to hit the theater, since it's opening day), but was think about finally seeing Leonardo DiCaprio's Wall Street movie. I'm not sure which one I want to see. The DiCaprio movie is about 3 hrs. and I hate to sit still that long.
No Chlo, twin is living in my mom's old house. She wanted to buy it to live there. I thought it was too big and needed too much work. Big sis wasn't too crazy about twin staying in the house but I thought it was a good idea so she could see all the problems it had and that it was too much work for her. I think that maybe she finally came to that realization. Twin has to learn from experience. She won't take any advice. I guess we are all somewhat like that.
RM, roommate, texted that she planned to take next week off to help me continue cleaning the house to prepare for her moving in. That was nice that she would sacrifice her vacation for that.
can't sleep tonight nothing on tv to put me asleep what happ3ened to aLL THOSE GOOd DISCOVERY Channel programs that put me to sleep. now its either animal killing one another or people doing that. Cant sleep to that. programs usedto be peaceful and educational.
Carol… sounds like you hit the roommate jackpot… good for you!
I've noticed they've changed the programming on several channels I used to watch. We watched Gilligan's Island on TVLand last night. Haven't seen that one in a looooong time.
Coreen…. did you get nailed with that snowstorm? We got practically nothing… only a dusting.
When we were on Cape Cod this past June, we visited with a man Rick used to work with and his wife. They bought an old home yrs ago and slowly fixed it up. They moved in permanently 2 yrs ago. One of the things they loved about living on the Cape was that they rarely got much snow. Well this year they are getting hammered with feet of snow and we have about 3 inches on the ground. Very strange.
"A sometimes wickedly funny but ultimately sour, loud, draining tale of one of the most dysfunctional families in modern American drama."
i guess it may have reminded big sis of our family.. i'll let you know what I think after i see it.
for the long movies, I'll wqit until they are released so I can get up and run around.they seem to be released quickly. I can make my own popcorn for cheaperat home.
Weathered another snowstorm, it started earlier than the so called 'weather people' were saying on all tv channels!...5" on the ground here, but more closer to the towns closer to NYC, they are reporting about 10"...
temp was 2 at 8 am, but the wind is brutal again...managed to clear areas to throw out bird seed, my face & fingers were stinging/burning while I was shoveling the snow to clear the bird areas, the driveway is plowed so are the roads, my newspapers (CT Post & NYT were in the driveway)... but it just too cold... and don't anyone even start with climate change/global warming...
We had no more snow cover, all of it was gone everywhere, now its back, & if the idiots are right, no warming so it won't melt away...but the sun is out & the sky is blue today...
It's 58 and sunny outside and I still have a little chill can't seem to get rid of it. I had on longjohns yesterday when I went to the bank it was so hot I had to go in the bathroom and take him off. Getting ready to go in a little while to see the movie. I'll give you my opinion without giving away the plot.
Coreen…. I believe the majority of scientists that say climate change is real. And, IMO, it will be one of the biggest problems of the century.
I can't believe how much cotton has gone up in price due to drought where it's grown. And we all better pray for rain in California. We'll not only see our favorite bottles of wine get more expensive… it'll hit us hard in the grocery bill this summer.
Carol, roommate sounds like a keeper if she is willing to help you clean up before she moves in.
Anxious to hear about the movie.
Coreen, sorry to hear about the weather there. We are due to have colder weather here tomorrow. We have not had bad weather this year - so far. I love the cooler weather. I could stand permanent weather like this and not even in 60's yet.
Renee, I buy fabric often and I use only cotton in quilts. It is unbelievable how much cotton has gone up. I am still making t shirt quilts and buy fabric for sashing (strips to sew to the t shirt pieces) I have decided to cut up good used cotton shirts and dresses that I no longer use for this sashing. I will start using good muslin for backing. It is interesting how much cotton fabric I have accumulated now from doing this. I have saved this clothing for years - don't know why - had it all packed away. This has been great for getting rid of stored items and now have a better use for them.
Jan… I used to weave placemats, runners, hot pads, and coasters out of cotton calico fabric strips. It's essentially mini rag rug weaving. I used new bolts of cloth because of color and shrinkage control. Cotton went up so much that I could no longer justify the paltry profit margins I was making compared to the intensive labor these items took. But like you… I have a lot of bags of stripped cloth left over from years of buying whatever colors struck my fancy.
I'm keeping them. In a few years when I'll probably yearn to weave with cotton again… I'll make all new rag rugs for my home. I bet I have many of the same fabrics that you have for quilting.
Well I went to see that "August..." movie this afternoon. When big sis said that movie was painful to watch that was an understatement. Toward the end I started watching the time because I wasn't sure I could handle much more. It was both sad and distressing. it didn't make me want to cry, it just left me with sort of a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. The acting was terrific by all of the cast. And especially Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Let me know when you see it and what you thought of it. I think many people might be able to identify with bits and pieces of that movie. Compared to that family my family seemed very normal.
Maybe not everyone that sees a movie like that will feel uncomfortable maybe they can't relate to certain people's pain. I'm very curious as to what you think about the movie , what parts bothered you most. Like to here john'sperspective as a guy also. curious yet??
Just heard on the local news that they're having a cat show in a little town that mom lived in. That will probably be a t meow mix. I should enter Fiddler as the fattest cat she is so fat now. She fusses loudly if her food bowl is only half full
Chloe I think I found what you were talking about my little Freudian slip but you can blame the computer microphone for some of these mistakes. bTW has anyone seen Her yet? I think I would like to see it. They must have stolen that idea from Big Bang because Big Bang had had the Indian guy falling in love with his computer voice lady
Carol, I think Vizeo is the best choice right now. I love my Sharp, but you get so much for your money with the Vizeo, and it has it all... including durability, imo. An excellent, all around TV. That's what I got Emma.
May I suggest you check it out first at either Costco or Sam's. I say Costco because they give you an extra years warranty for free, plus they're the cheapest. Sam's should have a comparable price, but I don't think (know if) they give you the second year warranty (which is when you'll most like have a problem IF you have any). Walmart has been fine too, here lately, but things get thrown around there (I think) than they do in a warehouse setting. As usual, just my humble opinion.
Just want to point out that the Vizeo 65" is a great buy right now (if you want to go that big). I think around $1300. A great buy!
You'll get much more enjoyment out of a big screen... probably won't want to go to the theater that often if you do, though.
You can now get Red Box ($1)on line for new movies, although I haven't done that yet. But when we get rid of the hideously expensive Direct TV (soon!) I'm sure I'll check it out. Between Amazon, Netflix and my Roku, I am enjoying sitting in front of my TV again. No news, no commercials and whole seasons of the best seasons of the best series. Love it! Nothing like a big screen... I feel like I'm there with them (I practically sit on top of it too).
I didn't remember until you mentioned Julia Roberts that I had walked into the August movie while waiting for another to start (in the theater next to it) a couple of weeks ago. It looked a little depressing, so I'm going to pass on it. I like mystery, humor, etc., right now and don't won't to sees anything that's going to add to my stress level. I know more than I want to know, already, about family dysfunction. I'm at a point where I'm very careful to filter what comes 'in'.
She fusses loudly if her food bowl is only half full
I knew there was a reason I liked that cat so much!!
... seriously, some cats just get fat and some don't. I think they're predestined. Maybe it's the survival instinct that makes some overeat, but then it eventually turns on them (just like it does on humans), because being overweight does cause lots of health problems.
I forgot about the microphone being the cause of most of our Freudian slips. Mine makes some serious mistakes.
Thought it was funny, though. I've sent some really screwed up messages with the mike, when I didn't check before hitting send (because of not having my reading glasses nearby).
I am on a clear liquid diet this morning. Have a colonoscopy scheduled in the morning. Dreading this afternoon. I am trying out a new regimen. 4 dulcolax at 4 pm today then a bottle of miralax in 64 oz of gatoraide. Wish me luck. Prayers are better.
Jan, hope things go well and you don't have any of those allergic reactions this time. Also, hope they put you to sleep during the procedure this time. Request it!
BTW, I can't imagine life without satellites either, Jan.
We have this newest cold front to endure, Carol... burr. But it is supposed to be gone by the weekend.
Just remember, when you layer up, do it from the outside, in... in case your temperature rises (like it did at the bank). I like buttons, snaps and zippers on everything I wear, so I can do just that. My temperature changes according to what I doing (and even thinking... stress heats me up. I guess that's what they mean by 'boiling' mad).
I'm with you Chloe… I rarely go to the movies. Don't think I'll use a time of going to one to watch 2 sisters bitch at each other.
Jan… good luck with your procedure.
I can't live without a computer or tv. Also… it maybe a bit old fashion… but I wouldn't want to live without radio either. I listen either to sports radio or NPR while I'm weaving.
I'm aware of the cold front comming. Already dreading it. Considering everyoneelse's weather, i felt guilty domplaining. There may also be some frozen prcip with it. hope not. ANd longjohns dont have zippers, yet.
Like the longjohns with zippers. Need that for the tops also. I have pain in my left shoulder joint. I think it is from fighting to get the LJ tops off. The bottoms are easier to get off.
Chloe, I hope you're settled in for the next day and don't have to get out on the roads because it already starting to sleet. I think I heard that Houston's getting snow. i'm already tucked into my chair bed for the night. I'm sure that Maggie will have to get out in that nastiness later.
All done. I did about 2/3 of it and could not take another glass. Everything down there is so raw I can hardly walk. I will not do this again. They say nurses (and docs) are the worst patients and it is true.
Carol, so sorry to hear about your nasty weather. Hope it is over soon. One nice thing about having a dog who is not completely house broken is if the weather is too bad she can just do it all on the puppy pads.
Jane was a sneeze what it come out as. Ahh choo. I found when you start a Dog on a puppy pad is hard to break him of the puppy pad.
I bought some fuzzy boot slippers today so I wouldnt get my socks wet when I walked the dog Iin the wet grass. I thought I got the right size but had a hard time getting my left slipper on. I'll probably not get it off until hell freezes over which I think is in the forecast tomorrow.
Good thing I'm not staying at the camp right now or I wouldn't do to get out your door because of the frozen precipitation outside. I was staying at the camp last time this happened and I had to draped stairs with Towels and go down on my butt.
Jan check in with us when you get back home when you're awake.
until hell freezes over which I think is in the forecast
Well, Carol... you know hell did' freeze over if Houston did. When I read your snow comment this morning it was too dark for me to see anything outside. But, sure enough, there has been a very light snow. It doesn't cover all the ground, but some of it, and it is definitely big news this far south.
I was going to mention how warm fleece is when you were talking about long underwear last night. I put it on Em when it's really cold, and I have a few fleece jackets that I wear around the house and under my coat (multiple coats today!).
I'm going to link a page of the ones that are actually warmer than long johns (an alternative if your shoulder keeps getting worse). They're more expensive on line here, but at Walmart they're really cheap (Im sure they are at Walmart.com too).
It's 28 here right now. But that won't keep me home. I'm taking Emma to school to spend the day with friends. Then I'll go about my business as usual. Hell or high water won't stop me! (Just ask Solar) :)
Please let us know how you're doing this morning and stay safe. You and Maggie keep each other warm. Hope you have one of those little portable heaters to sit in front of every-so-often to soak up an overdose of comfort. I couldn't get along without mine. One of my cats likes to get between me and that heater and block some of it off, but I don't mind sharing. That cat is a heat-lover like me.
All my other animals have somewhere to get a break from the cold, although it's an open barn for the horses. We blanked Cheyenne this year because she's so old and it's hard to keep weight on her. We haven't taken that blanket off in the last few weeks and probably won't until the end of February.
So true about dogs trained to puppy pads. That is what happened to ours. At this point we are ok with it. When the weather is bad and when we are traveling, the puppy pads are handy. I would not train a dog to puppy pads if I had a new puppy.
Carol and Chloe, stay warm today. The good thing about where you live is that the cold and nasty weather will change soon.
Sorry you guys are experiencing such cold weather. I agree Carol… we here in the north are prepared to handle cold, but southerners aren't.
I LOVE fleece. I've been wearing fleece jackets during wintertime for years. And I wear fleece socks at this time of year too. Rick bought me a fleece blanket with the Bruins (our hockey team) logo on it. I drape it over my shoulders at night while watching tv.
Never even got near above freezing today. Several of my water pipes froze today that's the real mess that's one the problems with living down here we'll my pipes are. Are not prepared for this cold.. They didn't even freeze until morning. The temp continued to drop all day. I don't think will get above freezing until midday tomorrow.
Carol, Sorry to hear about your pipes freezing. I hope you and Chloe are doing ok with the freeze.
I finished my test. So happy!!!! All went well. I did have 2 small polops (sp) Don't have to do this for 5 more years. She said I have a tortuous large colon. that is why she could not do this without anesthesia. I think tortuous means not straight. I do have some internal hemorrhoids. I never see any bleeding. I eat a lot of fiber but she recommended some metamucil. I would probably do ok with drinking more water.
All the nurses and the nurse anesthesist were grads of here and one was a former student. So sweet, she hugged me goodby. I had her in a research course. She said she had dreaded research and I made it easy. Made the whole thing much better.
Oh yes, one more really nice thing that happened. When I first got there, before they knew I was a nurse and teacher at univ. a young African American man - probably orderly- asked my age and when I told him, he said Wow! you don't look it. That sort of made my day too.
It turned out Emma's school was closed today, as well as our bank being closed. It was almost humorous, because even though it was cold (started at 28) the roads weren't even wet. Couldn't believe that there were no signs in our area of bad weather (other than the temperature), no dangers on the road, yet things closed down. I wonder what will happen if we really get a storm through here.
The advantage was there was no traffic to speak of. A Friday, in the Houston area is nightmare traffic usually, and today it was so light it looked like it was 20 years ago, when we first moved here. It was kinda surreal.
Jan, good to see you feeling better, and glad the experience turned out to be a fairly painless one today... and that it was even rewarding in some ways.
Did they remove the polyps? Rest up and take care.
I'm trying again to watch Netflix on my big TV but I didn't don't remember what Visio told me to do last time so I can't make it work I got the number oto viizio from Netflix and I'll try the morning when I'm fresh. Too pooped now. I do have problems with my long term memory. Hope that gets better.
Carol, you will appreciate this. The nurse caring for me didn't like my veins. She thought they were pretty small so she called the nurse anesthetist to start the IV. So the NA did all the usual things to look for a good vein. She found a good one and called the nurse over to show her how to find a good one and then how to start it. I think the nurse was new. Well, the NA blew the vein. She said my vessel walls were pretty thin. I suppose they are as my skin on my hands is pretty thin too. So I have a pretty good size bruise. I do appreciate that both times she used a little novocaine before putting in the big needle, so it was pretty painless. I never watch when they draw blood or put in an IV.
Carol, I wish I knew some information to tell you whether you will recover all the functions after your stroke. I think the main thing is give yourself some time. I know it must be very frustrating.
Jan when I see pictures of you put on the blog I think you look the same as you did when I knew you down here and that was a long time ago. You don't look like you've aged a week.
my pipes are now open but I have to keep the water trickling to keep it from freezing again. Big sister would have a hissy fit if you saw that water running I can't keep the water running at her house to warm it up to brush my teeth. Now that she has me trained in that way the sound of that water running makes me anxious. But I'm far more anxious when I don't have water in the morning because of frozen pipes. To need to call a plumber see what they can do to make sure those pipes or won't freeze up again
Did I talk you guys out of seeing that August movie. I really do think you ought to see it. It may not bother you at all. It just hit a few personal hotspots with me.
Too bad I can't find a way to ship all the water that I'm wasting keeping my sinks running to California to help them with their drought. They need to build some water pipe lines so that they can ship water from places that have too much of it to California where they could use it. I guess you would call that a pipe dream.
"~ New Seeds of Reality by Peggy Black and the "Team"
Each morning upon returning to your reality from your slumber is the beginning of a new cycle. It is the beginning of the opportunity to shift or transform what does not serve you. It is a fresh slate so to speak.
You can always drag the limitations of the past into this new day. It is a learned habit that does not support your magnificence. Begin to notice your first thought upon awakening. Is it one of celebration and gratitude, of having another period of time to engage in this life and reality, or is it one that calls forth all the worries, concerns and issues that were left behind as you closed your eyes for renewal.
Begin to observe these patterns, not from a place of self-criticism or judgment but simply as an observer. Then from this place of gentle observation, begin to shift your first thoughts that you call forth into your fresh day. Over time you will begin to change old limited patterns and habits of thought." Another inspirational message sent by big sis. I needed this also. I often wake up worrying about something.

It was time for new post. I found these images on the internet. There's only one reason I chose them….
cuz….. cats rule!
Oh, Renee, what unbelievable gorgeous cats.
Carol,
As usual, you've given me so much to think about today.
Did you send Solar his link to be able to post?
Solar, when you're ready to post that wonderful Tai Chi post of yours, I'm sure anyone here will be glad to help you figure it out, if you've forgotten some of the details. Just ask!
At some point in the future, if you don't do it, I'll just break it up and put it all in the comment area.
Let us know how you're doing.
Good day, everyone!
Chloe…..
Happy Birthday to Emma!
Happy Birthday Emma.
i dont know how i could have forgotten coreen. Im using a microphone and it puts up all kinds of crazy lettter. I have to erase many of them. That might have been what happened.
Neat kitty cat post Renée. I'm trying to get fiddler in the house but fiddler fights me. She's not wild butshe just doesn't care for being in the house. I've set up a warm place with lots of boxes and blankets on the back porch for him. I'm having a hard time calling fiddler a him but that's what he is. I've spent years thinking of fiddler as a girl but he is a big husky cat more consistent with the tomcat and it makes more sense of the other toms in the neighborhood are always fighting with him.
You've never experienced restless legs I would describe it is worse than pain.
I got a text from my potential housemate and she indicated she was interested in sharing the place with me that's good news. I hadn't heard from her so I was a little worried
Happy birthday Emma again. How old is she Chloe.?
I missed my doctors appointment today I haven't been in to keep up with my appointment ever since I switched cell phones from my iPhone to a Samsung. I really hate my Samsung but the new iPhone was nothing like the Olld one was . It was more like the Samsung. Don't understand why they have to change a good thing.
I just finished talking to my new roommate to be and she's ex military and very organized now so she comes in this hous she may run scared but if I can convince her to come and stay here and it has somebody help me organize this dump
Carol, Emma is 5. How time flies.

Carol, If I happened to find myself alone again, I would probably find a roommate.
Has anyone heard of that luminosity brain training program. I subscribe to it started yesterday. It's time to start training my brain again.
Because of his previous DUI charges the police assume he was guilty.
chloe, have you heard from tiffany?
Carol… I wish you all the best if you do get that roommate. I've never lived alone… and I don't think I'd like it.
Coreen… I'm glad the Jets gave a contract extension to Rex. If they had axed him, I'm sure another team would have scooped him up very quickly to be their defensive coach.
No, Carol, nothing back from Tiffany. I've checked my mail daily (and just now).
I think she was selling something, maybe. Her address is Tpham at drop cam. I looked up drop cam and this came up: https://www.dropcam.com/?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=rais&utm_campaign=brand-rais
Renee, How's your friend doing? Are you still helping her out.
Hope things are going well for you... as well as everyone else!
Back later.
Tiffany, if you still have a questions: chloe@doubt.com
... oh, and Carol, don't forget.
Chloe…
I'm on my friend's list of those who will help…. she has other friends and family members.
Renee, you are a good friend. The friend you are helping sounds thoughtful and organized as well
As for the conversation about roommates - I have lived with others most of my life and the 6 years in which I lived alone, I did not like it.
Some flexibility is a good thing when you live with others.
My sister said she was lonely after her husband died. She lived alone for a year - the first time in her life that she lived alone. She moved in with her daughter and family a year later and seems to be content for the most part.
It's a shame my sisters and I can't spend more time together without wanting to harm one another I could live with my brother-in-law
Oh well but he just a human being he just wants to do everything for everybody and he has a hard time sitting down relaxing and that bothers mei actually mom used to complain to me that that's the way I was when I had the have high thyroid level,.
I couldn't even stand up and suture for more than about five minutes before I have to move to a chair sit down and arch my back is a relief.
I'm supposed to limit my lifting to less than 10 pounds also. That's very difficult to do so often don't and the pay a price for that
Corine remind me what you use for juicing. was it the bulletq? did buy a juicer but it's a lot of work to use itywith all the parts if you going to put together and take apart the plane and it takes out a lot of the fiber that I'd like it I like to keep. Many fruits and vegetables have anti-inflammatory properties which I'd like to use to make juice.
I can't take anti-inflammatory medication because of what it does to my stomach
Chloe, at Amazon, don't you have to pay for every stream you watch I did when I was watching the second season of Dowton Abbey?
I think we are finally getting August in Osage County here in town. At least that is what TW said we are supposed to go Monday.
Today I'm supposed to meet my potential new roommate I'm going to meet her at my camp at 1 o'clock I thought that would be less intimidating camp is not as cluttered and it has a nice guestroom. I thought we could stay at the camp until he had time to unclutter my house..
That was supposed to be until we had time not he had time.
Please join me. To pray that if His roommate thing is right it'll work out
Carol, 'IF' it's right, then it 'will' work out.
I'd rather pay, if I can't wait until the season is done.
cont'd.

Carol, its a nutribullet, $99 at walmart, kohls, target or from a
tv infomercial...you might get it cheaper at kohls with coupons & if you get weekly store flyers, this week target may have them with some sort of discount...
It is so easy, just load it, add water, fasten the blade section, lock in the base, twist & it makes the drink...cleanup is no problem...
Comes with a book with many recipes...the smoothie effect is from using a banana, which seems to be in virtually all the recipes...so far I only use spinach, berries (raspberry/strawberry) banana & must add some water...but there are other choices...
tried using kale, but to bitter for my taste...not so bad when mixed with spinach, but just don't like kale...if the mix is not sweet enough, you can add honey (but I don't like it really sweet)...
luis mariano mexico/tu eres la mas bella
is the song....
Renee, you know I love the cats...remember I can't resist any leopard print things...
As far as the Jets & Ryan, whatever, they just need to field a winning team, until then, NY fans will not be satisfied...
And have not much interest in the football games...but the week has been spent on NY radio comparing Manning to Brady...& as one of the hosts said
if you came from another planet you would think that peyton manning is some rookie qb who never won a championship before, & yes I know the stats about manning v. brady, so I guess it will be interesting...if I had to choose, well you already know which team it would not be...remember us leopards don't change our spots, especially to jump on someone else's bandwagon!...
Oh Solar, just saw your post...my sincere sympathy to you & your family...
Solar…
so very sorry about the loss of your mother…
sometimes they could care less what would prolong their life because they just want to go…
enjoy your memories of her...
Coreen….
that first picture is for you…
and yeah…. even *I* am sick and tired of all the Manning vs Brady crap…
but…. Go Patriots!
Solar, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Losing a mother is very hard, no matter the age.
I am going to pass on finding more things to watch on TV. I am trying to watch less TV. Activity keeps my knees from hurting.
Maybe it was called a Vitomax.
Solar,
Very sorry about your mom. I know you were close, and my thoughts are with you, as always.
... shoulder to shoulder, Solar.
I wonder why that vitomix is so expensive.? For that money it should go shopping for you.
Never heard of the juicer that Jan mentioned...
but saw an ad just this a.m. for "Dole Shakes" fruit & fruit/veggie frozen drink that you add juice to & it makes a power shake...Maybe it's worth a try...will have to check it out if it's available at the local grocery store...
Sorry Renée about your teams loss icertainly know how it feels. Watching the second game. I'm pulling against the Seahawks this time since they did my saints in twice.
sorry about patriots loss but Manning was awsome/flawless

Thanks, Carol…
yep… Manning and the Broncos were awesome. Both Rick and I had a feeling that the Patriots would lose this game. It's ok… we had a blast watching them this season.
Honestly… after watching both games, I don't see the Seahawks beating the Broncos. But you know what they say about any given game. We'll know the outcome in 2 weeks.
Renee, i wasn't impressed with the seahawks.
Big sis emailed me this:
I think she sent this because of ,my new roommate situation. It also applies to some of the old friends that I have recconnected with
Carol, love what your sis wrote you. I think we can all use this.
Thanks.
chloefive had a lot of blessed synchronicity lately. I've not only been asking the universe for help, I've been begging?
Roommate's plan is to try to get everything done by this month I think is this month. That's soon so I may be mistaken.
Gtempd have been nice bot winter is on it's way back.
... it's just temporary, Carol.
Too long Chloe.
Anyone see the August...movie? Big sis said it was the best movie shes seen all year. Im going tomorrow to see it. She said it was a little painful to watch. Wouldnt say why.
Maybe the movie reminds my of big sis of our family pathology.
Carol,
That movie does look good.
Your sisters movie: August: Osage County
Did you say Mary is living with her son in Chicago now?
...not that it would be too hard to look at him for 3 hours: Leonardo DiCaprio
Carol…
sounds like you hit the roommate jackpot… good for you!
Very strange.
one ofthe critic'ss refiews of "August..."
I can make my own popcorn for cheaperat home.
a
Weathered another snowstorm, it started earlier than the so called 'weather people' were saying on all tv channels!...5" on the ground here, but more closer to the towns closer to NYC, they are reporting about 10"...
temp was 2 at 8 am, but the wind is brutal again...managed to clear areas to throw out bird seed, my face & fingers were stinging/burning while I was shoveling the snow to clear the bird areas, the driveway is plowed so are the roads, my newspapers (CT Post & NYT were in the driveway)... but it just too cold... and don't anyone even start with climate change/global warming...
We'll not only see our favorite bottles of wine get more expensive… it'll hit us hard in the grocery bill this summer.
just my opinion and 2 cents….
"A sometimes wickedly funny but ultimately sour, loud, draining tale of one of the most dysfunctional families in modern American drama."
i guess it may have reminded big sis of our family.."
LOL, Carol!!
... can't wait to hear how it is!
... sorry, double entry above. Got rid of one.
I'm still laughing. You are 'so' funny, Carol.
... oh, and Carol. You made a Freudian slip up above. See if you can find it. :)
I'm so glad I looked in this morning. You are just what I needed to set the day straight. Thanks!
Carol, I tape quilt shows to watch. I notice that when I watch one, I wind up dozing off so now I know what to watch when I want a quick nap. LOL
Jan…
I used to weave placemats, runners, hot pads, and coasters out of cotton calico fabric strips.
Carol, thanks for the review of the movie.
Guys it is still a movie you need to see. Let me know when you see it what you think but go prepared to be uncomfortable.
Looking around the theater yesterday I only saw one man in the entire theater.
Chloe, I want a bigger TV for my camp. You think Vizio is a good choice?
I've sent some really screwed up messages with the mike, when I didn't check before hitting send (because of not having my reading glasses nearby).
... ain't progress wonderful!
Have a good day, all.
Oh yes, I have to drink 2 cups/glasses of liquid every hour. Burp!
today.
Yes Chloe, Progress is wonderful. I cannot live without the cell phone and computer now. What if all of a sudden we no longer had satellites?
Wishing you luck and prayers Chloe. The prep is the hardest part of the procedure. The rest of the procedure is just a nice nap.
ooops... that's Jan, Carol.
Jan, hope things go well and you don't have any of those allergic reactions this time. Also, hope they put you to sleep during the procedure this time. Request it!
BTW, I can't imagine life without satellites either, Jan.
Take care of yourself.
I listen either to sports radio or NPR while I'm weaving.
sorry, i meant Jan. This isnt your first rodeo.is it?
I'm aware of the cold front comming. Already dreading it. Considering everyoneelse's weather, i felt guilty domplaining. There may also be some frozen prcip with it. hope not. ANd longjohns dont have zippers, yet.
He, he... there's always these Escape Artist Long Johns
... or how about buttons? Red One Piece
I didn't realize the cold front got here first, Carol... about mid morning. It's really, really cold now. Prepare yourself.
Escape Artist Long Johns
Like the longjohns with zippers. Need that for the tops also. I have pain in my left shoulder joint. I think it is from fighting to get the LJ tops off. The bottoms are easier to get off.
How cold is it there now Chloe? Watch out for the frozen precipitation that they're threatening us with. You know the south doesn't handle that.
Besides the poop fest you will have later, swollowing the laxatives is the worst part Jan.After a while I can'f make myself swollow. then i quit.
Well, Carol... you know hell
did' freeze over if Houston did. When I read your snow comment this morning it was too dark for me to see anything outside. But, sure enough, there has been a very light snow. It doesn't cover all the ground, but some of it, and it is definitely big news this far south.
Well, Jan, you'll hopefully feel better soon. Hope you got some sleep and today is a better day than yesterday.
Fleece (is so warm)
The problem with cold and precipitation around the south is that we are not prepared to handle it.
jan, have you already had your test? I hope so.
Jan are you finished with your test today? How did it go?
Never even got near above freezing today. Several of my water pipes froze today that's the real mess that's one the problems with living down here we'll my pipes are. Are not prepared for this cold.. They didn't even freeze until morning. The temp continued to drop all day. I don't think will get above freezing until midday tomorrow.
I thought I got them prepared the other day but I guess I didn't. I just hope that nothing broke because that would be a real mess.
chloe, all the schools were closed here. all the bridges are iced over and we have bridges everywhere.
I guess all ok. Of course they will send the tissue from polyps to path so will be 2 weeks before I really know all is ok.
Oh yes, one more really nice thing that happened. When I first got there, before they knew I was a nurse and teacher at univ. a young African American man - probably orderly- asked my age and when I told him, he said Wow! you don't look it. That sort of made my day too.
I should have said - This is what 72 looks like. LOL.
I wonder if the damage to my right brain will ever heal?
Chloe, yes, they did remove the polyps.
Thanks Chloe, yes today was pretty painless, thank God.
I watch a lot of shows based in Alaska and I see a lot of kind of flimsy houses on peers and I wonder how they keep their pipes from freezing.
Thank you God for not letting us have a ice storm And lose power. tW lost it for a few minutes this morning and that scared me.
The rain has stopped now we just have cold.
Over time you will begin to change old limited patterns and habits of thought."
Another inspirational message sent by big sis. I needed this also. I often wake up worrying about something.
Like the old saying...Don't worry, be happy!
Carol… that comment has inspired me to do a new posting….
