Photos from the Net...

Time for another new post. I found some pictures I like from the internet.  If anyone wants to change and put up another post, feel free to do so.

I found these photographs beautiful and intriguing so I saved them for here. #1 is an ant pushing a water droplet. #2 is the Aurora Borealis. #3 are flying geese orchids.

jan said...

Oh yes, the 2nd is the Aurora Borealis seen from space. I bet you guessed that. This is a phenomenon I would love to see myself.

jan said...

As I look at these photos once more, I think they would make beautiful quilting fabric. I love the colors in all three.

RebelliousRenee said...

Jan… thanks for the new post.
The photos are stunning. I take it form your comment that you love the colors that you have a preference for greens.

Unknown said...

Thank you, Jan, for such a beautiful (thought provoking, for me) set of pics. I didn't realize, wasn't aware of, the story behind your images, and so ended up learning a few heart-warming facts of nature this morning.

Looking up a little information (for myself), found this pic of 'Future fliers lined up next to their protective mother'... Energy conservation and visual assurance.. I couldn't help but giggle at how cute those babies are. I really love getting a glimpse of the birds that fly in a V formation... so precise. (also love hearing and seeing birds that fly in huge flocks... the sound is what I enjoy most).

Regarding your Aurora Borealis pics, this site provide a little of the 'why' (for me, who didn't have a clue)... The color of light they emit depends upon the type of gas the particles collide with. Light that is dominated by emissions from atomic oxygen causes a greenish and dark-red glow. Blue light is a result of atomic nitrogen, while purple light is the result of molecular nitrogen.

Carol!

You and I have the same middle name!!
ps Your cold weather is coming our way. I'm hunkering in for the duration.

jan said...

Renee, it does look like I have a preference for greens. I took this test recently (someone posted on fb) that tells what your color preferences are and mine turn out to be green. Interesting, I did not realize that before then and now. I love the greens in spring that are new and fresh and such a variety of colors of green.

jan said...

Chloe, thank you for posting the links to the info about flying geese. So interesting! Also enjoyed reading about the different colors of the aurora borealis. So cool!

Unknown said...

Hey, Jan. If you get a chance, can you please link that test from FB you took? Sounds interesting.

Off and running... have a great day!

jan said...

Chloe, I don't know how to link anything. If you google "your true color aura" It will come up. There are several questions beginning with "what is your favorite color."

Unknown said...

Thanks, Jan! My aura color didn't surprise me, for some reason. But it's also definitely not one of my favorite colors. My favorite color is yellow, although I'd never wear it or have a car that color. I love it in flowers and fuzzy stuffed things.

(... if you ever want to link anything, I'd be glad to either show you how or do it for you)

Chloe, Is yellow your aura color?

Thanks for posting the link.

jan said...

Chloe, My favorite color is purple. I have never thought of my favorite color as green but I love the colors of spring.

jan said...

Carol, how are things going for you? Would love to hear how your day went.

Carol said...

We are finally back at skis's condo. Went to walmart, yeehaw. Bought a heated throw. We got an antennae for a little tv sis has. Wasn't sure if it was actually a tv or just a monitor. The antennae is hooked up and I have a good many network channels coming in. Will get mt tv fix. All my meds showed up in the mail so that anxiety is gone. Things ate looking up here. Still very cold, not used to that. Thanks for putting the post up Jan and the interesting conversation the rest of you. How do you know my middle name Chloe?

Carol said...

I'm a blue girl. That's my fav color. That was also the color of the aura that was around me when we did those pics after mom died.

Carol said...

I did find and download one of the books that young doc mentioned. It was on kindle. It is telling yourself the truth. It include lots of religion. Cool with me.

jan said...

Carol, so glad things are going better and you have a TV. Also that you found one the books the doc recommended. You will have to share what you get from the book.

jan said...

Carol, so you already knew the color of your aura.

jan said...

We are watching the Sound of Music. So excited that Carrie Underwood is playing the part of Maria. You know she is one of the winners of Amer. Idol. She is from a little town in OK just off of I 40. Every time we go home to OK and ARK we pass it by. John and I feel like she is part of our family. We have followed her career since AI.

Carol said...

Remember jan when our auras sowed up in pics a friend took after mom died on Mary Jeremy and me. My friend who was a photojournalist for the local paper took the pic with her expensive work camera Don't understand why that happened. It was before they took mom's body from the house I considered it a last hug from her. The Arabs disappeared after they picked up her body. My aura was blue. Mary's was a light pule. Jeremy's was a bright gold with a magenta outline. His aura was beautiful. Later I bought a book about auras and read about the colors. They did describe us pretty accurately

Carol said...

I watched a little of the sound of music Everything here is on later. I'm usually in bed by 8 or earlier.

RebelliousRenee said...

According to that test, my aura color is yellow. My craft booth is a pale yellow… everyone calls it the sunshine booth. I LOVE fields of dandelions!

Carol… glad to hear that things are getting better. It sounds like the entire west coast is experiencing colder than normal temps right now. Hopefully they will moderate soon.

And I may be wrong… but I think Chloe was joking that both your middle names are "stress".

Carol said...

Oh.

Unknown said...

Renee is right, Carol. You joking told me your middle name was 'stress' on the last thread. Mine is too!

Glad to see you've solved most of the problems that were standing in your way. Between Walmart and the U.S. post office, we can probably solve most of the worlds problems... well, at least mine, and some of yours.

It's so good to see you happier.

Unknown said...

By the way, the cold has now moved our way. It's surprising how much things change when the weather changes. But that's OK, change isn't all that bad... maybe even good.

It's nice that your aura and your favorite color are the same, Renee. I guess that would mean you're a more harmonious person. Harmony gets rid of stress and conflict. Maybe the reason I love 'yellow' so very much is because it makes me feel that harmony when I'm experiencing that particular color.

When I see that field of yellow flowers (daisies are one of my favorite, but I love all yellow), it's breathtaking to me.

Unknown said...

Jan, purple is Emma's favorite color too. That, and the attitude color, pink. I love dressing her in lots colors, and anything goes with kids. So she can clash, and preferably does!

This should have all our colors: Fields of Azaleas

jan said...

Chloe, Absolutely love the fields of azaleas. You are so right. My favorites are the purple and orchid colors with the dark green surrounding. But I love them all. Color is a wonderful mood lifter for me, probably one of the reasons I love fabric stores - and I am always drawn to the areas with lots of beautiful color.

Thank you for the link to the fields. Whenever I feel a little blue or stressed I will go back and look at the field.

jan said...

Renee, How interesting that your aura color is yellow and so is your craft booth. Here in ABQ the first colors of spring are yellows.

jan said...

Carol, I somehow forgot about the pictures of all of you after your mom died with the colors of your auras. Someday, it would be great if you could post those again.

It is so amazing how the colors of our auras fit all of us.

jan said...

I enjoyed the Sound of Music. It did not compare with the one with Julie Andrews however. I still love watching that one when it is on TV.

jan said...

One thing I noticed about Carrie Underwood. I think she must have had a voice coach. She had much more range and a stronger voice. I read she had to work to get the country sound out of her voice.

RebelliousRenee said...

Chloe… my favorite color is actually blue… sorry, I should have mentioned that. Although there are times when I'm very attracted to reds. Actually… I LOVE ALL COLORS! I've worked for so long with intense colors in my weaving that I can feel emotions attached to them.

Jan… we did catch the last 45 minutes of Sound of Music. Carrie's singing is amazing. But her acting skills needs some work, IMO. It seemed like you could see her just standing there and waiting to say her lines. But I'm sure if she continues to pursue it, she'll get better.

jan said...

Renee, I agree about Carrie U.

Carol said...

I've always heard that yellow represents caution and causes anxiety. That's why caution signs are yellow. I do like yellow flowers. Ivy always said she liked yellow flowers.

RebelliousRenee said...

Jan… but considering that Carrie is not a trained singer or actress… I give her big kudos for having the courage to do a live tv production where she was the star.

Carol… according to that quiz… yellow people are enthusiastic, energetic, and usually look on the bright side of life.

Carol said...

Jan those aura pic are on the Aug 24 2009 blog post titled where do we go when we die. Two of those aura pic, one of me and one of Jeremy are there.

Carol said...

Need to blow the pic of me up some to see the aura. Just click on the pic and it will get bigger

Carol said...

Renee did you ever see those aura pics? We're you following the blog in 2009 when we first started it?

No recliner here and my low back can't handle 8 hrs of a bed. I haven't slept in a bed in 10 months or more. Old age ain't for sissies. And quests what? I'm a sissie.

I go to bed too early because I'm cold and bored. I a
So need to walk more but it's too cold outside. I'll ask sis to take me somewhere we can walk. Don't know if they have a inside mall in this little area. It's called Kingston but it's not an incorporated city. Closest known town is Bremerton. Winter is not the time to come here or anywhere. Maybe where I live. It getting cold there now. Thank God we aren't involved in tht ice storm. How about you guys up north.?? Will you be needing that generator this winter Coreen?

Carol said...

I want to go to Cosco. We don't have that at home. One really neat thing about most of the grocery stores here is they all have olive bars with lots of varieties of seasoned olives. Had finally lost my interest in olives at home Got my interest for them back. Sis andi Made a potato/ broccoli soup for supper last night. Had a salad with that. it was good.

jan said...

Carol, glad to hear you say "good" about food. We love Costco. Sometimes we just go to Costco and walk around. Yesterday we went there and they had lots of samples. Love the samples.

jan said...

This is the coldest it has been since moving here. We don't have ice though. Our snow is still on the ground. I am thankful for a warm home this morning and a way to connect with friends.

jan said...

I would have trouble sleeping on a recliner. I have to move my legs all thorough the night. I think I have restless leg syndrome in addition to some arthritis in my knees.

jan said...

You are so right that old age is not for sissies. The good thing about old age is that I really appreciate the important things in life even more than before - family, friends, home.

RebelliousRenee said...

Carol… yes I remember the aura pictures. I've been following this blog since you started it.

We got a couple inches of snow last night. I LOVE it! This morning everything is beautiful and white.

I went to a girls night out party last night. There's 6 of us that get together and do potluck whenever the urge strikes us. We had our Christmas party last night at my neighbor's house. Of course I could walk… so I drank a bit too much wine… haven't done that in years. And since we're all older, we usually break it up about 10:30. Last night we broke it up just before midnight… we were having a blast. Feel a bit groggy this morning, though.

RebelliousRenee said...

Carol, walking outside in winter is great, but you do need a good pair of boots with traction.

We have a Costco… but it's over an hour's drive from us… I've always enjoyed it whenever we do make the infrequent trip. And there's a Panera Bread in the same mall. I LOVE their cookies.

RebelliousRenee said...

There's some really cold, snowy, and icy weather happening in some strange places in this country. They have more snow in Dallas, TX then we have. I feel for them because they don't know how to drive in snow. And ice… that's the worst stuff! You can't drive in it know matter what your experience is.

I read on huffpo that 4 people died from hyperthermia in the San Francisco Bay area. God, it's gotta be some cold out there. We are prepared for winter temps… we have heat… and back up wood stoves for when the electricity goes out. I see KGC complaining over on TrailMix about the cold. Hope it changes soon.

Carol said...

Yes Renee, it seems the places that aren't used yo being cod are colder than those that are used to it. Crazy weather. This Area here is not usually this cold.

jan said...

Renee, sounds like a great party with your friends. Nice when it is w/in walking distance and you don't need a driver.

jan said...

I lived in Dallas area for 3 years back 1987-1900. Of all the places I have lived, this was my least favorite. Traffic and weather were the worst.

jan said...

My sister lives 25 miles from Dallas so will drive there to see her before Arkansas.. Hope weather is better than now. If its bad we will wait.

Carol said...

Seems like Dallas always has some awful weather and flight delays.

Carol said...

Coreen seems like your weather has been less extreme since you have had that generator. It was bad weather insurance

jan said...

And so many flights go through Dallas too.

I meant 1987 to 1990. LOL

Carol said...

Where oh where is Coreen?? Is she putting up her Christmas decorations?.?

Carol said...

Some of my comments did not show up. Or they dissappearesed after they posted.

Carol said...

I'll see if these do also.

Carol said...

I'm still waiting for a tropical heat wave to come. May not be here long enough.

Carol said...

I have on so many layers I can't even get to an itch if I have one.

Unknown said...

Hey, Carol. I have on a lot of layers of clothes, too. We had a high of 35 yesterday. Our usual cold fronts are 2-4 days, but this one is supposed to last a week -- we're about half way through it.

Coreen left a nice message for you a few days ago, Carol, and she seems to be doing really well. If I know her at all, she's busy with the holidays (and work). The holidays are work!

... sure you'll here from her soon.

Unknown said...

Solar,

Hope you're doing well (I hope everyone here is doing well, BTW!).

What is that series of tests you're taking? Are you taking a class? Love to have you fill us in on what's going on what's going on in your life right now.

ps... looking forward to getting your Tai Chi post up, once Carol gets back. We can always bring it over and put it in the comments section for now. Maybe at the top of the next thread, when someone puts one up. I'm very interested in it... this is a time I'm putting a lot of energy into rounding out my life.

Unknown said...

I like Cosco a lot, too, Jan and Renee -- a lot better than Sams Club. I let my Sams Club membership lapse, as I couldn't see paying a yearly membership fee at both.

If you buy electronics at Cosco, they offer you an extra year warrant for free. So instead of 1 year guarantee, you get 2.

Unknown said...

... here the time stamp on that comment Coreen left for you the other day, Carol -- in case you missed it.

December 3, 2013 at 9:41:00 AM CST
"Carol, hope that you have been able to get more comfortable with your surroundings with big sis & family & that your meds arrived....Is it snowing where you are, the weather reports are showing snow in the NW..."

Unknown said...

... not to worry!!

Unknown said...

Oh, and have a great day, everyone! I'll check in to see what you're all up to.

jan said...

Chloe, Costco has a good reputation for paying their employees well. We like that. Their service is very good.

I am giving my 2 grandchildren Costco gift cards for Christmas. They like buying their little one's clothes and toys there. They are good quality for a good price.

jan said...

Temp here has been very cold in the early morning. We usually turn our heat off at night while sleeping but have kept it at 60 degrees past couple of nights. Do not want our pipes to freeze or dog to get too cold. She sleeps in a pet taxi and I cover it with a towel to keep the heat in. We sleep better in the cold and under a down comforter.

RebelliousRenee said...

Chloe… 35 degrees here at this time of year means it's sweatshirt weather…. lol… I know it's all relative… :)

Carol… I do feel for you. Up here we're used to the cold. I usually wear a fleece jacket that's meant for late autumn throughout the winter. It has to be in the single digits before I don an actual winter coat. But I'd be dying in the heat in your state in summertime while you'd probably be just fine.

Carol said...

Oklahoma had an earthquake during a football game someone was kicking a field goal at the time. Didn't effect the kick. Not sur whether it was yesterday or the day before.

I have sos's tv working and we could watch the Seahawks ga,e here but we won't be here. we are going to a piano recital my neice's daughter is in. She is a great piano player. Play by ear. She played for us Thansgiving. No music. It was a classical piece.

December 8, 2013 at 10:41:00 AM CST

Carol said...

Check out the Philly game on Fox. They are playing in a blizzard.

jan said...

Carol, enjoy your niece's recital. John is watching the game with snow on the field. don't know how they do it. I am sitting here by him and doing some hand sewing.

We have son's dog today. She is a poodle mix. So we have 2 little dogs. He and DIL spent the night out. She is going in for her 2nd brain surgery Tuesday.

Coreen said...

Well we weathered the first winter blast without any problems...it was freezing rain more than anything here, a light
coating of ice but not the kind that causes trees/power lines to snap & fall...once it warms up it should turn to just wet...right now walking is more difficult, but the roads are salted/sprayed so should get easier later this morning...

Renee, not sure if it is worse up your way...

Coreen said...

Carol, good to see that you are getting more comfortable as the days go by...as far as the cold,
I know it is difficult for those from southern states to warm up when they come back north this time of year...guess the best thing is layering...my big thing is keeping my ears/hands from getting cold...I keep earmuffs & gloves in the cars in the winter, so if its really cold when I get out I have a pair close by...

jan said...

Coreen, good to see you survived your first winter blast without too much damage.

jan said...

Our snow in the central part of ABQ has about melted. We are in the most protected part of the city and surrounding area. The ski areas in NM have plenty of snow for skiing now. East of us in the higher elevations there is more snow.

jan said...

I have been going through all my winter duds and doing some alterations and getting rid of what am not wearing.

Carol said...

RebelliousRenee said...

Coreen…
it's no big deal up here. We got maybe another inch of snow and now it's raining. They said we'd get some ice too… but I think it's too warm and the "storm" is about to fizzle out.

Carol… Congrats on your Saints win last night. Looks like they came out with wanting to make a statement this week. My Pats pulled another rabbit out of the hat and won their game 27-26 with some last minute stuff again.

Carol said...

Went iTo ikea today and I had an allergy attack. Sneezed for hours nose running like a faucet. Raw from blowing on napkins Nd whatever I coyld find I was even tempted to use a bath mat it was running so bad. Now I'm Rudolf. Too much going from hot to cold and back. Haven't had a cold in years.

Unknown said...

It's probably the dry weather congesting you, Carol. I don't do well in low humidity either. I do love going to Ikea, though. Sorry you didn't feel well enough to enjoy it.

They have a little heater on sale at Target for about 15 bucks. It's a 1200 watt, and they have 1500 watts for a bit more money. When you can't get warm, plugging a small heater in right next to you (ha... preferably on top of you) really helps. I always have one by my feet next to the computer. The central heat doesn't always do the job, when you just can't get warm.

Is your heated throw helping? They aren't as warm as a regular electric blanket (which I depend on when I climb into bed at night).

Cold weather just isn't our friend, Carol. I don't know if it's acclimation or simply a preference. Whatever it is, it's real.

Unknown said...

... just think, it's not even winter yet. Oh, lordy.

Unknown said...

Hey, Carol. If we went any further south, we'd be in Mexico. So I guess that's out of the question.

jan said...

Carol, when I first moved to NM, I had lots of trouble with congestion. Our air is so dry here. I have finally adjusted-after 10 years.

Sorry to hear you are having problems there. I hope you are feeling better soon.

jan said...

Chloe, A lot of people winter in south TX - close to the gulf. I guess it is pretty warm there in winter.

jan said...

So interesting the different climates we all live in.

I have come to love the climate here. At first, I really missed the humidity and rain. Don't really miss it any longer.

RebelliousRenee said...

Carol…
ahhhh… of course you're not used to the dry temps. Hopefully you can acclimate. But in the meantime, there are some things you can do to make yourself more physically comfortable.

No need to live with dry skin and lips…get yourself a good moisturizing lotion. Use it liberally on your arms and hands. Get a good lip balm. Use it as often as needed. Ask Sis what brands she prefers.

Get yourself a table top humidifier. They're cheap… about $40. You can find them at any big box store, pharmacy, or hardware store. Use it at night in your bedroom. If needed use it during the day too in whatever room you're in. It will help tremendously with the stuffed up nose.

If your feet are drying out, you can get moisturizing lotions specifically for that problem too.

Talk to your sister. She's probably so used to doing certain things at wintertime that she hasn't realized you don't know what to do.

Unknown said...

Jan, I feel like I am close to the gulf. I guess it's warmer down in Corpus Christi, but I wouldn't want to (or be able to live there).

I was mainly just joking about not being able to get much further south than I am, without leaving the country.

Unknown said...

I agree with all the stuff you said, Renee.

I've long thought, that along with the bodies ability to acclimate to different climates, that the main difference in our tolerance is that we don't know how to dress for the colder temps when we get them... and that we're just not used to it.

When I complain about the cold, I'm partly just making fun of myself. I know if I had been raised in a colder climate, I would be fine with it.

I did live in a very dry climate the last two years we were in S.Ca. though (high desert) and I had asthma for the first time in my life. It was terrible. That made the humidity a good change for me... the asthma disappeared. My worst allergy is dust, and there's a lot of that in the desert, because of the wind.

Most of this climate tolerance/preference is just whatever we're used to, imo. But like I said to Carol, it's real.

Unknown said...

... I'm always laughing (a lot) when I write my numerous complaints about the cold. I know I'm being a cry baby, but my hate of being cold is in my DNA!

Unknown said...

Hey, Jan, I missed where you said "So interesting the different climates we all live in."w

That's it in a nutshell. I think our differences are what make things interesting!

A while back, I pointed out how much those of us down south (not cultural, as in southern, but geographical) as in the southern part of the U.S.) complain incessantly about the cold. We're sissies, and we know it!!

jan said...

Carol, vaseline is the best thing for your nose. Put it on liberally at night. It should heal soon.

jan said...

Good to hear your nose stopped running.

jan said...

One think I have to have in cold weather is a warm scarf around my neck. Can pull it up to cover lower half of my face and nose when out in cold.

jan said...

Mittens are better than gloves in really cold weather.

Carol said...

Jan have had a scarf on since I got here. May have grown into my neck skin. Nose feels better now. Thanks for info.

jan said...

Carol, The vaseline is good for dry lips too. I have a jar of vaseline in almost every room. For dry skin, after showering, you can put a little vaseline on areas where skin is very dry. Aquaphore is recommended for dry skin and vaseline is really same thing and lots cheaper.

A lot of people, especially babies and young chilren. here have eczema because of extreme dryness.

Chloe, my husband developed asthma after moving here.

Unknown said...

Jan, I've used Vaseline for chapped lips and chafed nose (from cold or allergies) ever since I can remember. Some very good advice you gave, Carol. Once in a while, I will also use the Neosporin ointment, too, since it protects in the same way.

Hope Johns asthma is under control now. He must be allergic to common house dust too... at least I assumed that's why I had it in the desert where it was so dry and windy. Otherwise, it was beautiful there and the winds kept the air smog free and clean.

Does John use an humidifier? I've heard putting a few drops of high quality H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) in them, along with distilled water works wonders.

Unknown said...

... that humidifier is probably good for the skin, too, in a warm climate.

Unknown said...

BTW, Our indoor air gets dry in the winter too, when we're running the heat a lot. Extremely cold air makes things a lot dryer.

jan said...

Chloe, one of the reasons we think John developed asthma was because our dog we had then started sleeping in our bedroom after we moved here. She shed a lot. We did not figure that out until she died. After she died 3 years ago, his asthma cleared up. We did not think this dog would cause asthma because she does not shed. Well, his asthma is back. Now this is a real dilemma because John is very attached to her. So he is back using inhalers. He had stopped using inhalers until a few months ago. His asthma is definitely worse in winter.

Unknown said...

Every thing is always worse in the winter, Jan. I seem to remember you mentioning John can't easily tolerate the cold (ha, like me).

I used to be allergic to to cats, but I think is was because they carry around a lot of dust in their fur. It may be worth a try for John to put a humidifier on his night stand, before he makes a decision to not let your dog sleep with you. The moisture probably weights down dander like it does dust. I think that's why I do well in high humidity.

This is a very bad allergy year. In my case, its probably because it's so cold and that and running the heat dries out the air.

Hope you and John have a wonderful day.

ps If you get a chance, glance over at TM to see Tony's beautiful Christmas tree. I feel so guilty I don't have mine up yet.

Unknown said...

Ha... I just notice I left here yesterday complaining about dry air. You can sure tell I don't like it.

... good day, everyone!

Days are very short up in the north. Dark by 4 p. they have long summer days though.

Carol, I bet Maggie will be just fine when you get home and she gets back to the routine you and she had.

We are keeping my son's little poodle, CeCe, while DIL in hospital. She has had her 2nd surgery on tumor on her brain. She is doing very well. This 2nd surgery was not as extensive as the first.

We fixed a bed on the couch. She looks quite comfy right now.

jan said...

Bed on couch is for CeCe.

Chloe, yes - John does not tolerate the cold well. He wears 2-3 layers from top to bottom all winter. He does not get colds often though.

Jan… glad to read that your DIL got through surgery ok. Hope she and CeCe will be reunited soon.

Carol… sounds like Maggie is a bit stressed… but I'm sure she'll be fine and glad to see you when you get back.

Well, weathered the ice, then the 3" of snow & now the cold...yesterday & today it was
20 when I went out...& never warmed above 32...but the roads
are clear, so driving is ok...unfortunately seems another snowstorm is arriving on Saturday...

Did I mention I really don't like snow!!...yes Renee, I know you guys love it...I keep trying to wish it goes your way, but we are always in the path!...

Coreen said...

Jan, sorry to hear that your dil needed another surgery...you & your family have had your share of medical issues...so good to hear that she is doing well...

Coreen said...

Carol, it gets dark here at 4:30, that's why I prefer daylight savings time...the shortest day is almost here & then slowly it will start staying light longer...

Carol said...

Yes we have heard that il second just letting Renee have the snow and the cold too. She can send us a little cool air every now and again.
We are going to the art museum to see an exit about Peru today. Headed to Bainbridge to meet a friend of Gloria's then taking a ferry back to Seattle]]

Just got back to sis's house. Nice art exhibit but with the miles of walking and hours of standing my back said it was not interesting enough to make up for that. I should sleep well after my sleepy time tea. I finally found some decadent pastries ive ben hankering for at pikes market but idnt ave the energy to crry thm home pikes is close to the art museum cant come to settle without a visit there

Coreen….
every morning we discover we've had another 1/2 inch of snow overnight… it's starting to add up. We are supposedly getting about a foot of the stuff starting Saturday night into Sunday. Good! It will really look like Christmas here!

Carol… I LOVE art museums… but I too get tired from all the walking and standing. Enjoy the pastries.

Carol, it is great you are getting the exercise despite that it tires you.

Renee, I remember living in Montana. There was snow pack on the ground and streets all winter. We are getting dustings of snow often now. This is the first year in several that we have had this much snow. Our temps are slowly warming now.

jan said...

Carol, I have visited Seattle several times. Love to go to Pikes. It is a favorite place when visiting there.

jan said...

I would have loved to live in Seattle several years ago as I love that climate but John could not have tolerated it. He needs all the sunshine.

Carol said...

There would have been snow here if it had been as cold yesterday as it was the days before. It's now in the 40s.

jan said...

We are still in the 30's.
