This is a picture of my grandson in Colorado. They had a snowstorm just recently.

Carol said...

Dang, that's a lot of snow. Glad it's not here.

Thanks for putting up the new post Jan. Let me know after you watch Dr. Oz. Won't take long to watch it because it is just the first part of his show. He covers several other subjects also.

Got that right Jan!...I do not miss snow, ever...

Coreen said...

Apparently it is still cold in Denver, Yankees playing at Coors Field, Denver & everyone has been dressed for winter...& they just started after a 2 hour rain delay...

Carol said...

Coreen, go to this site tomorrow and I think you will be able to watch that Dr. Oz show. It won't be on that site today.

watched Theresa Caputo on the taping of the Oz show. The brain doc who was on believes and I think Oz does too.

Colorado is beautiful... but you couldn't get me to live there... I do love snow... but not enough to live where it happens Oct-May.

Everything is beginning to bloom here now.... YES!

RebelliousRenee said...

What??!...
the great and powerful media created Dr. Oz thinks that another great and powerful media created personality is legit... wow... I'm convinced!... :)

Carol said...

Renee, wouldn't even consider trying to change your mind about Theresa. I thought it was interesting that she was going to be on Dr Oz. I occasionally watch him when I think about it or when he has on a subject that I may find interesting. I listen to every one of his shows, that I watch, with a healthy skepticism. Believe it or not, I'm a pretty skeptical person.

When I have explored other subjects in the area of parapsychology, I usually prefer books written by people with a heavy science background.

After I had my orb experience, I found a book about them written by two men, one with a theology background and the other with a physics background who was a prof and worked for NASA.

BTW, Theresa is going to be on the Today Show at 9ET.

Carol... I've seen your posts where you are skeptical of doctors... especially Dr Oz.

I just woke up in a playful mood and felt like being a brat :)

Won't be seeing the Today show.... we're leaving in a few minutes to go to a local flower farm. I need to get those bleeding hearts to plant in the bed Rick made for me a couple weeks ago. Plus I need to get my annual fuchsia plant... I hang it where I can watch the hummers while eating breakfast.

Hey I'll be checking out Theresa's
show that returns on Sunday, believer or not, she's fun & it makes you wonder...so it's a good thing...

And we may have a taste of summer today...yuck...75-80 & humid, (its already humid out)since it rained for a couple of days & it may rain again later...shut the heat off, but hopefully won't have to turn the a.c. on yet...

Renee...you a brat...I would never have thought that!...good luck with the plantings...

And in the last week all the trees are now full of leaves, it happened fast...need to get some
new guinea impatiens & maybe try another rose bush or two...

Yes, I'm skeptical with physicians and any other educated profession. We are all fallible humans.

Carol said...

I love fuchsias. My fav flower especially the fuchsia and purple combo one. I met them in Seattle. I tried to bring some home to grow. They hate it here and die almost immediately.

Coreen said...

That was it...I only saw Theresa for a minute or so...but her nails were just like they were at her show...big white tips & she had a different pair of Louboutins...

Got the idea what I did see that the woman host wasn't buying it...she was a bit condescending...

Carol said...

We had a storm come thru last night that dropped 3 inches of rain.

Carol said...

I missed seeing her. Maybe our local channel broke in. Her talent is not one that can always be done on command.

Carol said...

I'd hate to think that I would be condemned if, in my work, I wasn't right 100 percent of the time.

You guys with cooler climates can grow much bigger and prettier flowers. Sometimes we can grow a few in the winter, fall or early spring but they never look as good as your flowers up north.

The Dr. Oz show with Theresa is finally up on his website:

Long Island Medium: Inside a Psychic's Brain

One of you guys needs to get one of my fav fuchsias so you can take a big pic of it to put up. It's the purple and deep pink one. Just love that color combination. I'll forgive you if you can't find one. I sure wish I could grow them here. I once found one at one of our nurseries, bought it and it was dead in no time.

RebelliousRenee said...

Plants all bought and planted in beds. However, we've decided to hold off on the fuchsia... many of them only had buds on them. I really like the pink with the dark purple too, Carol. I'll likely buy one of them in another week or so.

Gee.... I always thought that flowers grew better in tropical climates... guess not.

Coreen said...

But remember you have gardenias!!

Carol said...

Nope, flowers don't like this heat either. I'll give you a little more time Renee.

One of my favorite things about going up to the Pacific NW is all of the beautiful flowers they have up there. There are baskets of flowers hanging from every lamp post.

Impatiens like it here. The regular ones need shade and plenty of water the New Guinea tolerate sun.

Coreen, the Gardenias don't last that long. I do love them also. I love the scent. I have buds on my bushes but no flowers yet.

Jon Stewart caught a glimpse of Nancy. I guess I'm not the only one who is scared of Nancy. I can't even turn to HLN past noon because I'm afraid I'll run into her. Unfortunately, many of the others on that channel are catching what Nancy has.

Coreen, if you watch Theresa on that Dr. Oz video I posted, make sure you watch all 5 parts. They didn't show it but she must have also done a reading on the Dr. who was doing the test and he was very moved. Each part is only a few minutes long each.

This experiment does make sense to me. Some people try to achieve these type of brain wave changes by learning to meditate. I've never really tried because I have a hard time quieting the noise in my head. Theresa must have just been able to do it without knowing what she was doing. She's always complained of having a high level of anxiety. She said when all this started happening to her, she tried to ignore it and it just made her more anxious.

Coreen said...

Watched it, not sure what it means, but give her credit just for
putting that cap on her head & flattening her hair on tv...

like I said, I'll be watching her show...

Carol said...

Coreen, you noticed that she didn't take that cap off on TV.

I had three inches of rain when I woke up yesterday then got another inch during the day and another very early this morning. My rain gauge has topped out at 5 inches and they say we have more rain in the forecast. I don't mind a rainy day but now, I'm over it.

Coreen said...

It's raining off & on here...
it was humid yesterday, so unpleasant...reminds me of all the reasons I would not live in
the South which for me would refer to Florida or the Carolinas...

the trees are thick as could be, that happened fast...

History Channel has a show on now "the Godfather Legacy" about
the makings of the movie & its impact on theater audiences...I am
smiling, since I remember & can finish just about every quote they have mentioned...

Guess they had an impact on me!!...

Pretty sure I have said that the Godfather movies (all three) are among my most favorite movies...
