Here are some pictures of Ryley. The 1st is one I took at my sisters about 2 years ago. The 2nd and 3rd are pictures of her now. I need to get her groomed. I also want to find out how to clean her little beard. It is pretty yukky looking.

jan said...

Ryley started out as a man's dog. She was my brother in law's dog. He died about a year ago.

Carol said...

Those are precious pics Jan. I thought you told us that she was your sister's husband's dog. I think she will warm up to John.

I would like Maggie to get on all dry food. Wet food also messes up their little face hair. A good dry food is better.

I guess we are all OK with who got booted off DWTS. I was surprised that Drew was also at the bottom but I wasn't that crazy about the guy even though his dancing was OK.

jan said...

It was not surprise that it was Pam who left. John thinks she looks very sad.

We bought her a little squeeky toy. I is several little fabric type balls linked together and they all squeek. She took it into her carrier. I think she likes it. She ate some of the food we bought.

I'm really getting disturbed about my eye. Now the image I'm getting is an upside down V and it's closer to the right center of my visual field. When I asked the doc about what I was seeing, at first he said floater. I said no this is no floater. When he looked in my eye he mentioned that I had that film thing behind the lens but never really said that was what was causing this visual distortion. He did mention that the complication was more common than I thought and that it was easy to fix but he scheduled me for my next appt for 1 year. Maybe he thinks it will go away. Actually it seems to be getting worse. I can kind of describe it as bugs on your windshield but they move with your eye.

I read where this problem can develop anytime from right after surgery until 3 months after. I wonder if trying to do almost 20 cataract removals in a half a day may contribute to the problem. How can they rush through this shit? I don't think I would want this guy to touch my other eye.

I just thought that Romney's comment about 47% of us being on the take was bad but I'm almost a little more concerned about his comment about why windows on an airplane don't open. Watching him make that comment didn't seem to me to be a joke. I don't know if he just wasn't thinking when he made the comment or if he really didn't know why. Even so..that's scary.

I still can't understand why the GOP can't find better candidates to run for the office of POTUS. I can see why Romney was the one they chose because they rest of the choices were really scary. If we look back on their last two presidents, both were somewhat intellectually challenged but did have name recognition. Reagan had early Alzheimer's and George was just simple minded.

Carol said...

And you can't tell me that the "liberal media" doesn't go after their own. I watched my boys last night and they were talking about how Obama was too busy to meet with foreign leaders yesterday but he had time to meet with even more important people...the lady's on The View.

Carol said...

If you can get Current TV, you might want to watch Cenk Uygur, on the Young Turks. He also holds Obama's feet to the fire. Yesterday he was showing all the hints that Obama probably does plan to cut SS. There are subtle hints but they are there.

The powers that be probably don't care who gets this president gig. Better to let the Obama have it, they'll still get what they want and they can continue their day job of trashing the left.

Carol said...

I wasn't real comfortable when I voted for Obama last time. I found out why real soon when he put Timmy in charge of treasury. There's not much difference between the two parties unless you consider the social issues and I think they are mostly just red herrings. They use them to sway and distract some of their bases.

It was interesting that old Gov Walker fought the teacher's union because he is sooo anti union but he wants to give into the ref union to get the regular refs back because it's messing with his football team. Of course football is more important than education, silly me.

Carol said...

I think the only solution to the problem is a good third party candidate. Those that eat, sleep and breath politics, like those on TM say it can't be done. Well, with that attitude it can't. If all you do is bitch about each side, nothing will change. I got tired of the bitching. There's no solution in bitching.

We have the best opportunity now, with where social media has come. Other countries have used it to overthrow governments. But...I don't think that that window will be open forever. It's too dangerous to keep it open. Mark my words people...I'm the Bayou Psychic.

Coreen said...

She's a cutie Jan...and not a bit surprised that she is responding quickly...She looks smalleer than the cat in the 1st pic...in my house pretty sure all my crew would outweigh her too...

Coreen said...

You really don't think hypocrisy is reserved for only one side, do you!!...

As far as the NFL ref debacle ...I will again point out that there is a big difference between private union vs. public unions...

private unions negoitiate with an entity that use its own money (shareholders if there are any) & both sides are free to demand & agree to whatever terms...

on the other hand, public unions have become
the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for local politicians, they get a voter base to continue in power, all at the expense of others...using OPM (other people's money), that would be the taxpayers who have no standing in the negotiations but get to bear the cost of any agreements...

Coreen said...

don't get current, but way back when that cenk person was on msnbc he was a loud mouth bully...

as for the main stream media & your boys ...w/o
doubt they are surrogates for the obama campaign...any time they even bother to offer the mildest
criticism of obama (did your guys roll their eyes & make funny faces, then go on to something else quickly, likely a slam at romney or ryan or both) they immediately point out repeatedly the latest offense committed by romney (this time...last time it was directed at mccain/palin)

Coreen said...

But not to worry today's latest Q polls now show obama ahead double digits in both ohio & florida...& as we are repeatedly reminded, a repub can not win without at least one of those & certainly not w/o ohio...

& the media will make it a point repeatedly to remind everyone of this...

Coreen said...

Is this the stewart clip that you consider taking it to obama....seems it really was just another opportunity to slam
romney...the media
continually dwells on even the most
minor of throw away lines by romney...no surprise here...meantime nothing has changed in this country...under obama's watch...
obama's winning becuase romney gets dumber

Carol said...

There are some differences Coreen...

One is that we are willing to pay tons of money for something that entertains us that we don't really need to live and prosper..sports is one and all these crazy gadgets.. but we aren't willing to pay for something we think we are ENTITLED to like an education, police protection, fire protection, etc.

And it's really bad when Romney's own peeps are barfing. I think even the liberal left is thinking we might just be stuck with the least worst of the two of them. Really...and you can't get much worse than Romney. I really think that some of what he is doing is on purpose. He just can't be that DUMB.

Carol said...

It's not just the ultra rich team owners financing these ref expenses. BS. They make their money from the rest of us. They aren't charitable organizations.

Coreen said...

Carol, yes, you are willing to pay thoese costs...you in no way have to enhance the pockets of the NFL owners...that is your choice, don't watch, don't spend, whatever...

& no one is holding a gun to your head to buy your gadgets either...

huge difference with paying taxes that are often used to the benefit of a politician in securing his/her continued existence in office...

in the past many states, mostly in the prosperous & yes liberal & pro-union states like mine, state govt has agreed to pay benefits to its employees that were not funded properly by many adm. both dem & rep, with the upshot that now
those funds are massively underfunded & can not pay out the
contracted benefits unless there is some way going forward to stem
the ever rising costs...both pension & health care costs...

so far that has been to increase taxes, while the pols continue to contract with the state employee unions with very few concessions to rein in the costs...leaving the taxpayers to continue to pay...

those taxpayer voters are rarely able to unseat the politician because of the cozy relationship developed between him/her & the govt employee unions, who contribute to that politician's reelection with huge amounts of money...remember it works both ways...rail against rep.
getting huge donations, but powerful unions do the very same thing for many dems...

and to the contrary, where is anyone proposing that no taxes need to be paid to have a govt run efficiently...isn't the difference in the idealogy one adheres to...as to what services, how they are delivered...a never ending
debate as to what is the best way...

Don't know that anyone is saying no police, no roads, no education, rather those that believe in smaller govt see a different path...using wisconsin, didn't the fight involve no longer making mandatory union dues deduction from state employees pay, which inflamed the union...making it up to the ind to pay the dues...not sure if that wound up
happening, & if it did how many
of those employees now elect to volutarily pay into union dues...

On a less controversial note, Modern Family starts tonight. I've been waiting.

jan said...

Carol, I am worried about your eye. How about getting a 2nd opinion? Cannot hurt.

jan said...

The airplane thing was pretty bad.

jan said...

Coreen, the cat in the picture - his name is Boo- is a pretty small cat - so yes, Ryley is pretty small. My sister had to give away her cat, Boo. She found a good home for him. He is the cutest cat - totally black and orange slanted eyes. His face is flatter. My sis said he did have some respiratory problems because of his flatter face.

jan said...

Ryley is not eating much of his new, nutritionally improved food. My sis gave her wet food and I think she misses it. The research says don't give in, she will eat when she gets hungry enough.

jan said...

She is a female.

Carol said...

She is? LOL

Carol said...

Did you see Modern Family? I had to run for the bathroom. Forgot my rule...away pee before watching Modern Family.

It almost killed me when Cam was fussing at the lady selling the cat and his partner was making the car dance for Lillie and the huge stuffed animals on top looked like they were having sex. Cam is so good. I can see why he won that Golden Globe.

It is the funniest show on TV.

jan said...

Modern family was one of best episodes I have seen. I too loved the big stuffed animals on the car roof. I almost rolled on the floor when he was making the car dance and looked like the animals were having sex.

I also loved it when the guys took the big dad fishing and he fell in the lake and then when his son in law gunned the boat and he fell off backwards.

Carol said...

Yep, I laughed at those scenes also. And you fussed at me for laughing at us when we were dangling off that ski slope.

jan said...

H*** Carol, I was the last one dangling and I thought I was going to die - and you were laughing. I can laugh now. John always laughs when I fall or stumble or anything like that. I guess it is a normal reaction- for some people.

jan said...

I am watching Grey's Anatomy. Sad one. The season opener. They always end the season with a cliff hanger. The one for the end of last season was a plane crash and of course some people died in it.

Carol said...

Do you ever watch America's funnies home videos? It's the falls that are the funniest and believe me I haven't found a personal fall funny in a while.

Coreen said...

Remember the revelation about that Jesus mentions wife fragment...Didn't take long for the response...

It seems no matter what the issue there can not ever be an agreement as to truth...whatsoever...today there always is just enough on each side to say i'm right, you are wrong...so I guess everyone gets to have their very own reality/truth regarding just about everything!!...
Jesus wife fragment fake so says vatican

Carol said...

Coreen, I'm a big fan of Bart Erhman and I found this:

The Boston Globe has an article about the conversation among scholars about the fragment. Bart Ehrman is quoted as saying what many cautious scholars would say based on the currently-available evidence: “[T]he jury is out still, but it’s not looking good for authenticity.”

I don't think he had any political agenda.

Carol said...

I think we could all put money on what we would bet the Vatican would say...and win.

Carol said...

As far as I'm concerned...I don't care if he was married or not.

Carol said...

I thought it was funny what Seth on SNL said right after they found and reported that little artifact. He said that Jesus's wife first coined the phase..."Jesus Christ, pick up your socks"

Carol said...

I just got finished mowing the yard. It could have waited a few days but we've due a couple of days of monsoons. We haven't had any rain since the first of Sept and may not get much in Oct but they are predicting maybe up to 4-5 inches over the weekend. Better to be safe than sorry.

Carol said...

I choose to believe that Mary M was one of Jesus's most favored disciples.

I put very little stock in what the Catholic church believes. Look into their history. There's a lot of evil in that history. Still is.

Coreen said...

Seems evil finds its way throughout history & through all aspects of life...

Always forget which Mary do you find comfort in...Mother of Jesus or Mary Magdalene...or both...

Coreen said...

Rain...it poured off & on today, so much so that there was some minor flooding everywhere...I cancelled lunch
with friends because it was coming down so hard, you couldn't see & storm drains had rain spouting up like a fountain on the road near my office...

but guess what, no one slowed down
going through the water...especially suv drivers...they just barrel through
causing waves of water to cascade on all sides...a bunch of morons...

Coreen said...

This week the color change of our
leaves is now noticable...

Carol said...

Both Marys Coreen.

We had only a 40% chance of rain today and it started raining at 2p, rained for an hour and dropped an inch and 4/10s. Glad I mowed.

Carol said...

For those of you who favor the death penalty..Coreen, we just had a 38 year old man who has been on death row for about 15 years, cleared of rape and murder with DNA. Thank God he got the opportunity to get cleared. It doesn't bother you about those mistakes?

Coreen said...

Don't know the facts underlying your story....nor would the circumstances of it influence my belief in being able to impose the death penalty...

I will remind you again of the 2 vicious cretins that raped, burned alive a teenage girl (tied her to a bed & set it on fire) raped & killed her sister & mother here in CT...they both got the death penalty...& should already be dead, but that is not the case...they will live on for years & now that this dem. legislature pushed through repeal of the death penalty (though the majority of voters were against it) signed by that disgraceful gov. I unfortunately voted for...they have already started making noise that even though the law passed states it does not apply to those sitting on death row...they are raising just that issue...a disgrace...& another addition to my list of why I will not vote for malloy again...

short answer NO....

Coreen said...

Carol...you have a problem with the 2 cretins in CT who are on death row for their vile crime?....

And in case you forgot...life is not fair, never was & that will not change....

Carol said...

Well, well, well, seems voter fraud is a problem and it's being done by some company associated with the GOP. Interesting. I guess they can't hope to accomplish enough by just trying to keep many from voting by requiring a picture ID.

I seem to smell old Rove behind this. Could probably never prove it though. I wouldn't put anything past that demon. When I see that man, I see horns and a tail.

Carol said...

Actually Coreen.. going to sleep forever..maybe to recycle sooner..is too good for some of those evil beings. Keep them in a 4x4 cell to think about it.

If I had my choice whether to go to sleep or be caged forever, I'd take the go to sleep option. And they have proven it's not cheaper to kill them. Much more expensive with all the appeals.

Seems I remember reading that Sylvia Brown, psychic, believes that these really evil beings instantly recycle when they die. If she's right, I don't want these people coming back too soon.

Coreen said...

Sylvia Brown aside....you didn't answser the question...do you have a problem with the death penalty
for those 2 cretins?....

As far as possible reincarnation of evil... even if sylvia is on to something, which is totally conjecture with no basis in reality... I can live with that...since in the meantime 2 vile excuses for men are eliminated...its just too bad they get to play the system for years & in this particular case, it is very likely that malloy's signing the 'new' law may keep them alive even longer...

Carol said...

I did answer your question Coreen. I said..cage them. Death is too easy.

Coreen said...

You would not have made it as a juror in a capital case here...

Coreen said...

Should I even ask...
paper or plastic or pay

Coreen said...

And What do you need when you go to vote...do you have to show ID or not?....

CT does not require a photo id, almost added that but since dems control the legis they killed it in committee last year, but you must produce some form of id...

Generally here voters do show
driver's license which must have a photo...

Carol said...

I do like the idea of using the reusable bags. I have dozens of them here. Some I got at conferences that I attended and some big Sis got for me. She always remembers and is in the habit of bringing them to the store when we shopped together. I'm ashamed to admit that I only remember when I get to the check out and then I remember that I forgot. I will try to do better. I think the charge would help me to remember even though it's not much money when you consider how much groceries are these days. I don't throw away those plastic bags. I bring them back to Walmart to recycle or use them in my small trash cans. I do hate seeing those plastic bags in the waterways or flying around town.

Carol said...

Coreen, I do show my driver's license to vote. Then they open a big book and find my name, I initial next to my name and then I get to vote. Do you have to sign next to your name to vote? Seems that would keep people who aren't registered from voting. If you don't vote in any elections for a while, I think they remove your name and you have to register again.

Did you read or see anything about that crooked organization that has changed names multiple times to avoid detection? They are going around to help register... mainly Republicans. If you register Dem, your address is tampered with or your registration is discarded. They caught some young woman on camera saying she was only interested in helping someone register if they were Repub. They are desperate. Evidently Romney is associated with this organization and has paid them for some of their work. The NYT has to have a story on it. Also, it seems it's worse in the battleground states. I've always worried about those voting machines that have no way of proving just who everyone voted for. No way to recount.

Republican National Committee Drops Firm Over Voter Fraud Allegations

Carol said...

Ann Romney: Biggest Fear Is For Mitt's 'Mental Well-Being'

I think it might be too late. Watching him talk, I also getting the feeling that he is somewhat fragile. But..if he can't take the heat...

I still insist that with what the GOP put up there to choose from they really didn't want to win this fair and square. That left two possibilities...they either didn't want to win or they weren't planning on the fair and square approach.

Carol said...

The rain is here. It's getting light enough to see that my rain gauge has almost 2 inches in it already. I got close to an inch and a half yesterday and emptied the gauge. We still have the rest of today and tomorrow to go.

I guess it won't be a good weekend for painting.

Coreen said...

It's a gloomy overcast a.m., sun is supposed to come out & be fall like...

Carol said...

Doesn't Ann R have MS? This campaigning can't be easy for her! People with MS are usually emotionally labile. I always wonder how any of them handle the stress of running for office.

Coreen said...

Around here there is no mandatory
bag policy...I remember that Westport (next town over) did ban
grocery plastic bags, but so far
don't know of any other town that
has restricted use or charges for bags...remember my little town has no grocery store, no commercial/retail space, no strip malls....

I use paper in plastic at the grocery store...lots of tuna & cat food cans...even though the store
baggers must have been told to try to just use plastic...if I don't get both the cans roll out in the trunk...

I also bag myself, pet peeve the baggers try to put the heaviest items in one bag...like 2 half gallons of milk/juice, all the cans...so they are too heavy!....so I bag myself...faster too...

Coreen said...

Voting here is pretty easy & smooth going, though in a pres. election year it does take longer to process more voters...

Each town has lists of registered voters in that town & at each polling place for your neighborhood there are people who check...you present your id (as I said must people use driver's license) & the checkers locate & cross off your name...the lists are
set up by street addresses to match the names with the addresses...

CT switched its old mechanical voting machines a few years ago...
we used to actually go into a little booth like structure with a curtain...you pullled the lever to close the curtain...

all the candidates names were in lines on the machine & you had to
pull each lever down on the name you wanted....you could make changes go line to line, exclude some if you liked...once you finished you pulled the same lever that closed the curtain & that registered the vote & opened the curtain to exit...the votes were
counted inside the machine, after the polls close, the locked machines are opened by a group of
poll workers who actually would go machine to machine, & read &record the count for each candidate..

It was all done once the polling location was closed, locked...often
candidate reps. would watch the announcement of votes cast, reporters & some other interested parties could be there listening/watching as well....all very exciting if you had a candidate running...(I know this since I had a friend who was a state rep for years so I was actively involved in her campaigns)....

Now when you register they give you a sheet of paper with all the candidate names & there are a row or so of desks with partitions between for you to use a marker pen at the desk to fill in circles for the candidate, once you complete you walk over to a reading machine that scans the votes & takes the ballot...

Now is this a better system then the old mechanical counter...who knows!!....

Small towns like here, it is rarely a problem...the instances of
potential abuse are in cities with larger populations where it becomes easier (or so the claim goes) to game the system through
invalid ids, just the sheer volume
makes it harder for quality control of the check in system...

Coreen said...

Voter fraud allegations come from both sides...the acorn groups are
alive & well ust by another name...they have been accused often enough of suspect registration for dems...since the article is a huffnpuff/msnbc/isikoff production it targets republicans...a right leaning publication would point out the same claims against democrats...& so it goes...

maybe the mass shopping center registration efforts (& the like) should be eliminated...to much opportunity for negligent if not out & out fraud to occur when gathering names & addresses randomly...

who knows the extent of voter registration & voting fraud...
when you pay people to register by the # of names collected there is an incentive for problems...

Carol said...

Just got back from checking out the camp and my boat. I have to make sure my bilge pump on the boat is working. It is supposed to work both on auto and by turning on a switch. Sometimes the auto doesn't come on. It did have a good bit of water in the back so the auto must not have been working like it should.

I checked my rain gauge there and it only showed an inch and a half, an inch less than here at the house. There are so many trees that they may have deflected some of the rain getting in my gauge but it can rain more in your backyard than the front when it rains here.

Well, I'm back on my fav laptop. All the letters are now working. I received my replacement keyboard in the mail yesterday and found it, a little damp, in my mailbox this AM. I pulled up the youtube on how to change the keyboard. Most of it was easy except removing and replacing the little ribbon that attaches the keyboard to the laptop. I needed a magnifying glass to see this little lever. I didn't secure it back in good and put it all back together and a bunch of different keys didn't work. I thought that maybe it wasn't the keyboard. I took it back apart again and noticed that I didn't put this itty bitty thing back. It was tiny. I did that, put it back together again and all the letters work again.
Whoppee. I did it. Hope that lasts for a while.

There are a lot of things that we CAN do that we don't try to do. I figured that since the laptop wasn't functional, if it didn't work, I wasn't out anything. Now I'm back to having a backup laptop.

Well, the monsoons have slowed down for the present moment. I've had just 2/10s under 5 inches in the last 24 hours. I hope it will slow down. I see they have dropped tomorrow's prediction from 90 to 50%. Then next week it will be a little cooler.

Carol, YES -emotional lability is a characteristic of MS. I spent a lot of my time the first 6 years Steve was married. His wife has MS. She has been on anti-depressents most of their marriage - but so has Steve. She falls apart emotionally in most stressful situations. However, living with MS must be terrible. I remember one time, when the oldest GD was about 5 and her little sister was an infant. I offered to go with DIL to take the baby to the pediatrician for a routine well child visit. It was raining. DL was driving and she was feeling stressed as she thought she was going to be late for the visit. She began driving very erratically. I truly became frightened. I asked her to stop and let me drive. She got angry with me and then drove more erratically and frankly dangerously. I finally got very assertive and told her to pull over now, if not for her or me but for the children. She finally pulled over for a stop and then she broke down - sobbing- and said "you don't know what it is like - to always have to depend on someone else for so many things in your life. By this time, we were both crying. I felt so badly for her. But there were times that I wondered if they would all survive. I finally felt I needed to move, because I worried about them all the time. The move was good for me. After we moved across Ark. to the north west part they moved to the same community where her family lived. I was the best move for them.

I washed Ryley's "beard" It was pretty long and dirty. I could not get all the dirty color out of it so I trimmed her beard down a lot. She looks much better. I will be giving her baths too. Would love to know your strategy of bathing Mags Carol. Where do you bathe her? How do you dry her off?

Carol said...

First of all, don't let her know what's coming. I use no more tears baby shampoo. I have a shower that you can take down the shower nozzle. I put her in my big shower and turn on and check the water while I'm holding her to keep her from making a get away. I wet her then turn off the shower and soap her up. I turn the water back on and rinse her off. I fold a big towel in half and pick her up in that towel. I have a towel on my bathroom counter, with her brush and my blow dryer. I put her on the towel and blow dry her. A blow dryer will get hot so be careful. Mine has a button that cuts the heat so I hold that down to keep it from blowing too hot. I brush her while I dry her. Then I set her free and she goes wild.

At the camp I washed her in the kitchen sink. I had a little sprayer at that sink. That was tricky because she spread her legs out so I had trouble getting her down in the sink. I used the sprayer like I do the shower nozzle.

Carol said...

Jan, I do what I have to do. I researched changing that keyboard and it looked like something I could do. The laptop was useless the way it was.

You could do what I did also. We allow ourselves to get intimidated by some tasks that we can actually do. It's a lot easier than making a quilt and much faster.

jan said...

Carol, thanks for info on washing Mags.

Ryley is doing good. She kept getting into her carrier so I had to lock it. She was avoiding interacting with us by getting in there all the time. John says she is not bonding with him. I keep telling him "she is not Lobie." We have her on a outdoor potty schedule. My sis and BIL had her peeing on potty pads. We want her house broken. She pees and/or poops every time I take her out. She did pee on my 5X8 good rug when first brought her home. I have it rolled up now. Fortunately all our floors are wood (upstairs). Where we sleep downstairs are carpets, but she sleeps upstairs. She has peed on a couple of small throw rugs (washable) so I took them up. I put her bowls on a couple of paper towels. John and I are consistent in taking her out to potty every 3-4 hours. I have a potty training book and it will work eventually.

jan said...

She is getting more social with us. She goes out with us in the morning on the front porch. She loves that and I take her for a walk early morning before I feed her. At first she balked at the walk and I had to carry her part way. Now she is walking all the way. John is good in that he is helping me with the potty training.

Carol said...

I'm surprised she's doing as well as she is with her having learned to pee on a potty pad. I don't like those potty pads. They confuse the dog. Often it done because people don't want to take their dogs out. It develops bad habits which aren't the dog's fault.

I bet that Ryley is still dealing with some grief. I don't think dogs forget very fast. She'll get better.

I watched most of the LSU game last night. They were playing a team I've never heard of...Towson. It's a U in Maryland. They won but I'm a little concerned about what will happen when they get a real challenge..ie Alabama. They were a little sloppy, not the usual Tigers. They have been all season so far even though they are 4-0.

I'm going to try to watch my Saints today. If it gets too bad, I might have to give up. It seems like they have been "wooded". Kinda like what happened to Tiger after his little scandal. You know he couldn't have lost his talent and skill after that scandal but he just went south. I think it's a mental thing. Their psyche was damaged. Even though sports is a very physical activity..the "tude" is very important. I talking about attitude. It seems to affect all sports.

I've been kinda hard on Drew Brees but it's not easy for him to make good passes when he's being chased all over the field and flattened half the time.

Jan, I've finally figured out what my new vision reminds me of. Finally figured it out this morning. Remember when we had to use microscopes..probably back in microbiology. It's like there is dust on the lens of my microscope. Do you remember what that looked like..little circles and other images. It's not real visible when I watch TV or look at a dark surface but when I go outside and that light hits my eyes or look at any real light surface, it's really disturbing. All my years providing health care, I never heard of this complication but then..I really didn't have much experience with post op cataract surgery. The Web has lots of info on the problem so it is pretty common.

It started raining again after midnight. So far I've had another inch and a half, now totaling 6 1/2 for the past day and a half.

The rain seems to have cleared out of southeast Texas so it might be over here before too long. With weather like this..all I want to do is cook up something and eat..and not something heart healthy.

My rain tally now is 8 inches for this yard. 3 since midnight and most of that in the last hour or so. It was one of those training things..where it runs in a line over the same area. It is close to moving past my area. I'm waiting to be able to put the Magster out.

She may need a life jacket but it's at the camp.

The rain is over and my total was actually 7 7/10s inches. Only registered 4 at the camp but there is a lot of tree interference out there. I just got back from checking the boat and this time my auto bilge pump must have worked.

I need to do a lot today but I'm feeling a little rusty. Wonder why?

You are sure getting the rain Carol. Hope it slows up some for you and Mags. I saw where San Antonio is having flooding.

John was for Univ of Texas in the game yesterday. He is from Arkansas. His teams are Arkansas and SMU (where he went to college and Seminary). He does not like Alabama.
