Springtime in the Rockies

My grandson sent me some pictures from Colo and I added a couple from NM.  I added one of the little family with their new baby and their 2 year old and a favorite pic that they sent me of the 2 first cousins, Abigail and Landon.

Coreen, I know women who drink massive amounts of sodas in a day's time. It is definitely an addiction.

The last pic was on 4/2 out of our front door. It was snowing like crazy.

Carol said...

How precious Jan..those two trees in the second pic. I'm kidding. Those are some precious children.

jan said...

The 2nd picture with the 2 trees is looking at the Sandia mtns from the west mesa. I did not take the picture. A friend of mine took it and posted it on FB. I borrowed it. It is a great pic of the Sandias.

The 3rd and 4th pic are of the rockies in Colo.

The 1st pic is one of my favorites. Abigail's smile is infectious. Her little face just lights up when she smiles.

Jan, wow...I just love those little
blondes...

And real mountains...both the rockies & your sandias..we have nothing remotely as impressive...more like rolling hills compared to those...

And I truly love to see where you live...the mexican? architecture is so different from what I am used to...& yes, I see the snow falling...

Coreen..I'm kinda wondering if the woman had diabetes. Type II which often goes undiagnosed for years.

Anyone craving that much sugar has some medical problem. I've had patients with diabetes..before they found out they had it..consume large quantities of sugary drinks. Often it is large quantities of fruit juice. They just crave the sugar because without adequate insulin..the sugar goes in one end and out the other. They are starving.

They will come into the hospital with blood sugars of 2000.

We had this big blob line of bad weather heading this way from the west. TW who lives 20 miles west of me called to give me the heads up when it got to her. She had lots of wind..hard rain..and hail.

Maggie..the barometer.. was still above board..relaxed.

When it got close to me..it fizzled out..lifted up to the north and just left me with a mild dust settling shower. Didn't really need the rain.

There was one little clap of thunder..and weather girl dove under the couch. I'm so afraid she's gonna get stuck under there.

Coreen Coreen.. you are easier on men than women. If I'd said something like Jace did..you'd be all over me like white on rice. As we say down here in the south.

They put out this new vodka today..on National Weed Day. It's called "Purgatory". It's distilled in Alaska..made out of hemp seed. "First Hemp Spirit Approved For US Distribution" I thought that it sounded cool even though I don't drink. Thought about looking for it just to get a bottle for show.

I saw online that it sold for around 49 bucks for 750 ml. I called our biggest liquor story here and they never heard of it. Figures.

Carol said...

Are you puffed up Coreen.. because your Yanks beat the Red Socks on their special day?

Coreen said...

So what would do you think I should have said to Jace, Carol...

And by the way, why are you encouraging a person who sees consipiracies with every breath...
I thought ou were going to reserve
a conclusion until there was some
evidence in the Zimmerman case...

Coreen said...

Doesn't matter whether it was a special day or not, winning is what matters, especially against the red sox...but lots of games to go, too soon to get worked up...and actually it was not a
typical nail biting, exciting yankee/red sox game...

I had a vision Coreen and I shared it. I did leave a disclaimer. That was directed specifically at you. I could hear your bitching all the way from here.

I'm watching Wednesday's Modern Family online. It's funny again. I paused it so I can savor it..stretch out the laughing over a longer period of time. Then I have Jon Stewart and Colbert to watch. I even rented a movie. I'm on vacation.

That's one thing that is particularly good about living alone. I wouldn't be compatible with any other human's TV viewing behavior. I stop and start too frequently. I couldn't do that when Gloria was here.

Coreen said...

Just about everyone I know all watch their own TV's...no such thing as family viewing these days...everyone is on their own...

And again I will say thank you to whoever invented the trusty little remote...what did we do without it!!!...

Carol said...

It's so nice to come on and see those cute little tots smiling at me. Thanks Jan for sharing them.

And Jan..your family should be your passion. That's very appropriate. And it's why I have to direct mine elsewhere. I don't have what you have.

I know that's why I have put so much into my jobs over the years. If I had a family..I don't think I would have. I wanted my own child. The Universe said NO. Maybe they thought..you can't even do a good job raising your dogs..do you think we will give you a human to screw up?

I woke up this morning and it's all rainy and cold outside. Well it's 55 and that's kinda cold to me.

I thought the weather was clearing up. I looked at the radar and instead of the system moving from west to east..it's circling..almost like a tropical system does. Weird.

There's water standing in my yard. Mowing is definitely out.

jan said...

Enjoy your time Carol, that you don't have to mow.

Starbucks has been on the news because they have this drink that uses bug parts for coloring. Some beetle is providing the red coloring dye. The report says that vegans are very upset..along with anyone else who is grossed out about eating bugs.

Well let me tell those vegans something. If they eat veggies..they're eating bugs all the time. If there's no bugs in the veggies it's only because they are probably so toxic a bug couldn't survive. I'll just bet many vegans also prefer organics..more bugs.

Being a gardener for years..I'm familiar with bugs in the fresh veggie. It's impossible to wash them all off.

I remember eating lunch at one of our hospitals when I was supervising students in clinical. I was eating some spinach. I put some lemon juice on it to give it some flavor. I felt something that I thought was a lemon seed in my mouth. I kinda moved it to the side..I didn't want to just spit it out or swallow it. When I got the chance..I spit it out. It was a lady bug.

The next time I ordered spinach at that cafeteria..I told them to cut the lady bugs.

Jan..when it's cool outside..I like to mow..on my hoveround..zero turning radius riding lawn mower. I just don't like it when I don't have the time or if it's deadly hot outside. I'm really enjoying the yard work. It's my best exercise program..well the stuff I have to do off my lawnmower.

Tomorrow is supposed to be 79..clear and sunny. Great..I have my Earth Day Celebration activities all planned. I told y'all that I bought some grape mators..a new bell pepper plant and those herbs. I still have to go find my sage.

Tomato Woman has all her mators in the ground..they're pretty tall already and full of small tomatoes. She always has tons of huge beautiful tomatoes. She sticks to organic..with my prodding..as much as she can. They are those big luscious slicer tomatoes.

Carol said...

Every year..when TW has tomatoes laying on newspapers all over her entire house..she swears she will not plant tomatoes again. Every year..she plants them again. It's in her DNA.

jan said...

wish I lived next doot to TW.

Another difference between us Carol. You like outdoor work - I don't. I like to walk outdoors real early in am or in pm after sun goes down. The sun does not like me. Has something to do with auto immune disorders, I think.

What the H***were the Secret service agents thinking? Problem is they were not thinking.

Hillary C. is on. She says the worst thing about this scandel is that it took the focus off the Summit - which happens only every 3 years. She says lots of changes have occurred in Columbia.

Thank you both for your lovely words about my 2 gr grand babies. They are so cute. This is my favorite picture.

there is really nothing cuter or sweeter than babies - whether human or animal. God knew what he/she was doing when he/she made them so cute, sweet, and innocent - otherwise the human race may not have survived.

I love watching mama's, both bio and adoptive with their baby animals. Mama's are the same all over in terms of protection of their babies. When that protective influence is not there, something terrible has happened to that mama.

I had one very young mother (that I work with) who it was obvious had something wrong with her maternal instincts. Guess what it was _- drugs. I did not know that for a fact when I did her health screening - but the signs were all there. She would not make eye contact with me. She was jumping all over the place. Every time her little 11 month old would pick up a toy to play with, she would take it away from her and put it back on the shelf. She was evasive in answering some question. We did this screening at our facility.

Sure enough about 2 months later, they took her baby from her and she went to jail on a drug charge. The baby's grandmother has her now.

Carol said...

Jan..I do too. She's 20 miles from me.

Having a great day. The sun did come out but way too wet to do anything outside except feed all the critters.

My big screen..TV was going out. Too dark to even watch anymore. I tried everything I could do and then did a little surfing and found out it was going out. I called where I bought it. They wouldn't come check it out. I'd have to bring it in. Yeah..me and which group of people?

I made up my mind I would get another one. I did. I love it. It's 47 inches Vizio with all the bells and whistles. I did some research and had one in mind and the sale's guy talked into this one one..even cheaper but he said way better. It's also made in USA. That's what he said.

I called a friend to help me..got it home and put together. Now..even my antenna works better. I get my usual channels..NBC..ABC..PBS and Fox.. but with no manipulating of the rabbit ears. The pic is beautiful. Each of those stations have multiple channels..all over the air..and free. It's all I need.

Don't miss those 200 channels..at the camp.. that I couldn't find anything on to watch.

I have a movie on now. Have to bring it back before 9p. It's that...Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close".

Like you did at Costco..I went around Sam's and ate all the samples they were giving away. Filled up. I even stopped at this place they were giving little sample of these Margarita wine coolers. I don't drink but I thought I'd try the sample. I had two sips and felt woozy. I don't know what it is about alcohol but it just doesn't agree with me. A few minutes later..I felt like I had a hangover. I doubt it was more than 2 tablespoons..and very low in actual alcohol.

Carol said...

Jan..most of the women I have in the joint..who have serious drug problems..have 4-5 kids at home. Many are very young too. They don't give a damn about those kids..just the drugs. It's a terrible shame.

Carol said...

Well..I just finished my movie. It was intense..sad ..and long. I did enjoy it.

I watched a little of the Yankee's game. It was on Fox..one of my few channels. They were behind 7-0. I had change it to watch my movie because it was due back today. Got it at Redbox.

When I went to return the movie..there was a little line. I was talking to TW. I asked if she knew who won the game..expecting it to the the Redsox. She didn't know but some guy overheard me and said he hoped the Redsox won. He was a fan. He checked his Iphone and found out that the Yankees won...15-9. Coreen..I bet you were beside yourself.

Carol said...

Oh..I did find my sage. My song is complete.

jan said...

Carol, I read the book "incredibly...." I have not seen the movie yet. I cannot find my cables to hook the tv up to the DVR - I put them somewhere and cannot remember where.

I worked in Austin in a Drug/alco treatment center. Remember this so well - that all an addict wants his is drug. He/she will sell mother, children etc to get it.

jan said...

This little girl is adorable too. Makes you want to cry. The little girl is doing well - thanks to grandparents. But what is going to happen when the mother gets her back. BTW, the mother is going to the community college. Guess what her major is? It starts with a "N" She is taking pre reqs - not in nursing yet.

jan said...

Well off to bed. I am reading the 3rd book in the Hungry Games. Just started it last night. The best thing about the e-reader is that you can get your book instantly, don't have to wait to go to the bookstore.

jan said...

Hunger games - not hungry games. Oh Well!

Carol said...

Jan..I play those hungry games every night. It's starting to show.

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

It's going to be a beautiful day here for my celebration.

Carol said...

Jan..when men focus on one head..they lose the ability to use the other.

It's hard for me to understand why those dumb..but shouldn't be dumb..guys were willing to sacrifice so much. And how can men in high positions not realize that they are vulnerable to exposure. The Secret Service agents? Presidential Candidates? Presidents?

We're starting to see it happen more often with women but most I've been aware of were not very smart women to begin with.

My new Earth Day 2012 Post. If you celebrated..put it up also. Can't have too many!
