Beautiful Saturday

It has been a beautiful day here.  The temperature has been perfect.  We attended our 10 year old GD's soccer tournament.  It was fun watching her and the other girls play.  They play so hard.  Her dad is one of the coaches for his daughter's team.  The soccer field was in a beautiful setting with the mountains well within view.  We also saw a beautiful monarche butterfly on one of the flowering bushes in front of our house.

What I did on my spring vacation

Been working since about 6:30 this morning.  Having fun playing with my toys to clean my yard.  Last pic:  I'm afraid that old tree that fell out of my neighbor's lot will need a chain saw... and not my little recipicating cut up.  I haven't used it since I'm sure it will need some work before it will function.  I wonder if I can get it to work??  Won't know until I try.

Campsis radicans..Trumpet vine.  Hummers love them.

Danger..danger..Will Robinson.  This is a mega red ant hill.  Step in it and learn a new dance step.

My Satsuma bushes are loaded down.  What's weird is that this one is about the size I'd see about August.  It's only April.  Will I get early fruit or will this be as big as a cantaloupe??

Earth Day 2012

I started with Nancy Griffith singing one of my favorite songs.

Pics are:   My plants ready to be given a home.  My plants in their little homes.  Then Tomato Woman right after she planted her tomatoes.  She had to put up obstacles to keep her cats from pooping in the garden.  Then Tomato Woman's garden last year when it was grown up.  Next is my neighbors fence with his Morning Glory and last but not least is a gardenia.  I know how much you love them Coreen.  It was a nice Earth Day 2012

Springtime in the Rockies

My grandson sent me some pictures from Colo and I added a couple from NM.  I added one of the little family with their new baby and their 2 year old and a favorite pic that they sent me of the 2 first cousins, Abigail and Landon.

A rose by any other name....

April 13..
Happy Birthday Jan

When I was doing my yard work this weekend I cleared out some small trees and found an old rose bush I planted years ago.  It was very tall but hiding in those small trees.  I noticed a small rose bud on the top of a very tall branch.  I had to pull it down to see it.  I took these pics.. a day or two apart.. of that rose bud as it opened.

The last pic is of an interesting toad stool I found.  Pretty cool huh?

Memory Lane

Just sitting around watching the snow melting and running down the front porch and looking at pictures.  I am on a FB site that is from my home town and people are posting great pictures. I thought I would put up some up here that have special meaning for me.  Another trip back in time or down memory lane.  I seem to take these often.  I will be looking forward to some Easter pictures in a few days.
