I took most of these pictures early in the morning before the fair opened up… it was easier without the aisles and grounds being crowded with fairgoers.
Hnk you very much for the pics Renee. I love those hints bu we don't have many here. At least not with cool stuff.
I shattered my IPad, . I was at my house feeding the cat when Fed ex came. I was impressed with how fast I got a replacement. The only problem was they sent a replacement iPhone. I don't even have a iPhone. Can anyone get his stuff right? I need to get a case to protect my new IPad when I get iit.
Not sure how it went, but I do see a couple of scarves that I like...the mint green & the bright pink/rose...will get in touch when the summer fades into scarf wearing days, which may be sooner than in the past... all in all it has been a really nice summer...the mornings in particular are fresh, cool & crisp...this week more like late September...
still no heat waves here, not even any 90s...& I think that is great...
Carol, Amazon has a ton of covers for ipads...I have an ipad air & did get a nice one at Amazon...its a Snugg, fake leather, fits well but don't know how much protection it really gives if you drop it...
Corinne, I've dropped it many time with no problems but not on aa ceramic floor. That was too much for it.
I'm up rely trying to prepare omen food for Greta's brothers party. The homeowners are still sleeping and I can't find things I Ned, fang it. Oni sat down to goof off. He'll with it.
Carol, sorry about your ipad. John dropped his phone. It did not ruin it. Only damage was top glass now has this spider web pattern. It would drive me nuts but John does not mind it. It works fine.
We are considering whether or not to get "direct tv" from Costco. We have cable and are paying out the nose for very little. We bundle TV, internet and land line with cable. We want to pull out the TV and go with direct TV. John does not want to give up his e-mail address he has now. Also he uses land line a lot. I don't.
So many options now. The grad students across the street don't have a TV. They have a projector and use netflix and Amazon and other things using their computers. costs lots less money.
When I was in grad school I did not have cable or a cell phone or internet (not avsilable then). Sure made live easier. Of course, I had to pay dearly for long distance calls. I didn't make many.
I miss my sister. I bought a tape recorder so we could tape some family memories. We used to sing together at local events in our little town in OK. We did a little singing on the recorder. Boy, aging does not help the vocal cords.
It wasn't a really good fair… and it wasn't a really bad fair… it was in the middle.
I asked many of my fellow craftsmen how they were doing sales wise and they said they were having the same experience I was having.
My scarves sell very well through craft galleries… and I did have several shop managers come up to me and ask if I'd ship any of my left over inventory to them afterwards. I will be packing up 2 boxes this afternoon. I also have galleries that want my scarves starting in October. I will be plenty busy weaving for Xmas season. When I'm weaving… I'm happy.
N ou o h mp hi forenoon to my Fiddlr fing run o th hou n to hck on h camp. I like taking my hor t th camp. I've hs. Showroom phobi ince my grok end I'm the mot comfortbl using the small shower at the camp.
Hen I took off my shirt, I found tht I had my bra backward. I'm one of the only people I kno ho can wear a br backwards and it fits better. No kiddin.
I'm still trying to figure out hoe I did it also Chloe. I guess I was hooking my bra and forgot to turn it around to putti on. I don't know why I didn't figure it out for 2 days that it was on wrong.
I don't know why no one mentioned that I seemed to have boobs ion my back. I do have pretty prominent scapula. They probably fit in the bra cups
I had a very good friend named Cathy. I met her 18 yrs ago at a book club in our local library. She was old enough to be my mother. I'm turning 60 in 3 weeks… she turned 82 last Oct. We took an instant liking to each other. We loved to talk about books and politics... and go out to good places for lunch. She loved movies…. I've seen movies I never would have seen because of her. She was an intense person…. very opinionated… and very much a progressive liberal. She could at times be a difficult person… but she was never boring.
She had a massive stroke this past Saturday and passed away on Sunday. I will miss her greatly. Rest in Peace, my good friend.
Renee, sorry to hear that you have lost your friend Cathy...sounds like you had a close bond, which is something to cherish...not easy to find truly good friends through life...
I can count my close friends on one hand & they have been there for most of my life...they are the ones I can count on, no matter what...
Li found a cute baby don't ya think Jan. She said he I apply baby also. You can post that pov Jan if you can Jan. She sure hash assume interesting eerie cels sin E she left here., she will soon start her newj job.
Carol…. Cathy would be rolling over in her grave if I called her an angel.
A couple months ago she sent me an email with a cartoon picture of 2 old ladies sitting on a bench. The caption says : When I get old I don't want people thinking "what a sweet little old lady"… I want 'em saying "Oh crap! What's she up to now?"
Jan, getting to see you again this yearvwas one of the best experiences I've had in a good while. Can barely wait to do it Again. we have been having a monsoon lately. Rain and thunderstorms daily.
Nancy, my DIL, was scheduled to have her gallbladder out and to have a breast lumpectomy. They went to Little Rock yesteday and stayed in a motel to get to the surgery center early this morning. The anesthesiologist came in. Looked at her and her chart and said "you have multiple sclerosis, I don't want to put you under without a respirator available so I can't do the surgery here." So now it has been rescheduled for next Thursday. In the meantime, she has not been able to eat much except protein shakes because of severe nausea and pain due to the gallbladder. She has lost about 40 lbs since becoming ill. It was a terrible morning for them. Why was this not anticipated when this was scheduled in the hosp about a month ago. To add insult to injury, the surgeon came in and my son told him that Nancy had a lot of nausea and pain. He looked at the drain coming from her gall bladder and said "no wonder, its plugged" and walked out.
I am so disillusioned and disgusted with the medical system, I could spit.
Carol, it was a joy to spend time with you too. I was hoping to come out there in Oct. but may have to wait until December holidays. Would that work for you? We are planning to drive. Don't like to fly.
Jan, Here's to hoping for the best for Nancy. There have been times I've been glad for the medical system being there for me. But lately… it seems like so much BS. You take care too.
Sorry to hear Nancy is so ill, Jan, and that she had such a bad experience at the hospital. It's got to be hard on the whole family.
Hope to hear better news about her in a few days.
ps I have heard from so many people that they are having their gallbladder removed... after a long illness and much discomfort from it. I don't remember it being so common in the past.
I was thinking the same thing, when I read it, Carol.
Sounds like someone screwed up when they scheduled the surgery, but that it was a good thing that the doctor caught it. His unsympathetic demeanor may have been caused by anger with his staff and the hospital. Still, a rough situation for everyone involved.
Carol and Chloe and Renee, what you are saying is so true.
Renee, Carol, Chloe & Coreen. I appreciate all your kind words. Thank you. So good to have all of you. You are precious to me.
It was a stressful day, especially for Nancy & Steve. But in the end I believe that things work out for the best. Nancy is doing fine now, or I should say "as well as can be expected." She still has some nausea but they are taking all of this in stride.
Jn I forwarded you the story tht Lisa sent e about ho he cm to bing a new mom
Tonight th saints play the colts. Been waiting all day to watch it. I hope nothing happens to decree that up. I've had bad. Lick tRy to watch tHem play.

It is sad about Robin Williams. I love all of his movies. He was hit with a triple whammy - addiction, depression, & Parkinsons.
I watched Dead Poets Society on TV the other night, again. Excellent movie.
Coreen, you have had some very nice weather.
I miss my sister. I bought a tape recorder so we could tape some family memories. We used to sing together at local events in our little town in OK. We did a little singing on the recorder. Boy, aging does not help the vocal cords.
Well, color me red with embarrassment. My grandson just showed me how my phone works as a recorder. Oh Well.
OK… I'll repeat it… I did OK at the fair.
It wasn't a really good fair… and it wasn't a really bad fair… it was in the middle.

Renee, I'm glad you're happy. Enjoyed the pictures, and your work is beautiful. Keep doing what your doing!
... hope you 'all' are happy and doing well.
A really nice tribute to Robin Williams: Great Scots MacBlog

That was Cathy...
Renee, What a lovely tribute to your friend. People like Cathy come into our lives so rarely. What a lovely friendship the two of you had.
Carol, is Lisa the woman who lived with you for a time? I will try and post the picture.
Coreen, I too have few close friends. I love them dearly. I would drive many miles just to see them for a few hours- oh yes, I did that recently.
Jan, what surgery is Nancy, Steve wife, having?
She mentioned on Facebook having surgery but not what.

It my be a good thing that h hospital is extra cautious to have everything they Need before doing he surgery.
I was thinking the same thing, when I read it, Carol.

Well, I missed most of the game again. No rest for the weary. I'm living like a gypsy and don't like it. I need the courage to try to stay alone.
How do I get to the new post. When I pull up the blog I get the same post.
