World's Cutest Bunnies!

... a 'Place-holder' until someone puts up an Easter post (hopefully)

Having Emma around has made me so juvenile.

These bunnies are so cute, and I thought... what the heck, they put me in a festive mood!

Happy Good Friday, everyone.

Chloe, perfect Easter post. Thank you! Loved the Easter bunnies. Have not listened to other video as yet. Have heard it many times and love it too. It is one of John's favorites. I will listen when he is here to hear it too. We both love the musical, Jesus Christ, Superstar.

RebelliousRenee said...

Chloe… love those bunnies!
Long time ago I used to raise and breed Angora rabbits. They were a lot of fun but time consuming. Once I started to weave in earnest, I sold them all off.

Jan… I saw Jesus Christ Superstar on stage in Boston back in the early 70s. It was a wicked great show.

I'll say Happy, happy Easter to the rest of you… Rick and don't celebrate it. We do Christmas because to us it's mostly turned into a secular holiday. But Easter is supposedly the most sacred of Christian holidays. We leave it to those who believe.

jan said...

Renee, I started the Goldfinch a couple of nights ago. Love the book. Feel sad for the boy. So happy it has 700 plus pages. When I read a good book, so sad when it ends.

jan said...

Woke up about 1 am and could not get back to sleep. Had some back and leg pain. Took some ibuprofen, retrieved my nook and went to another bedroom and read another hour. Easy to see why the author won the Pulitzer Prize.

Unknown said...

Thanks, Jan and Renee.

I don't celebrate any holiday because of religious reasons either, Renee, but rather for the kids. It just happens to be Emma now, but we don't involve religion. These two video's seemed to work either way, whatever belief or no belief.

I just loved those cute little bunnies, and have always loved that song. Helen Reddy sang a popular version of it once, but this one was readily available on youtube, and so I grabbed the first one that came up.

I'm looking forward to starting that novel too, Jan.

spoke to Carol for a few minutes. She's in a lot of pain, but seems to be keeping her usual good attitude.

She's having internet connection problems, but is hoping to have a WIFI connection by Tuesday. Can't wait to have her back on the blog talking to us.

Love to hear from all of you, and what you'll be doing Sunday. I mentioned earlier we're going to a buffet.

Emma is waiting for the Easter bunny... Santa, Easter Bunnies, Valentines, Turkey's, Ghosts and Ghouls, what am I forgetting? ...the holidays never seem to end.

jan said...

Carol, so sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Thinking about you.

Coreen said...

Here's hoping that all of you have an enjoyable Easter whatever you celebrate or don't...

Sorry to hear about your continuing health problems Carol & your tech issues as well...

jan said...

Getting ready for a dinner at oldest son's, Bill, house tomorrow. We do celebrate Easter. My oldest granddaughter and her 2 little ones will be there. Abigail is 4 1/2 and Dominic is 1 1/2 years. I am making a bunny cake I found on facebook. I made this cake for my youngest son's birthday when he was a little one. His b'day is 4/6.

RebelliousRenee said...

Rick and I are going to barbecue some burgers this afternoon. Then watch a hockey game… Go Bruins!

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Unknown said...

Your family/grandkids are going to love that cake, Jan (and the memories). What a wonderful mother/grandmother you are.

Hope you and John have a really good day.

ps (hope we see some pics... including one of the cake, and of course, of the kids)

Unknown said...

The barbecue sounds perfect, Renee. I'm not big on tradition (go out of my way to avoid it).

Enjoy the game!

jan said...

A beautiful morning here in ABQ. We had wonderful rain last night and early morning. The trees are all leafed and some beautiful flowers blooming. A happy Sunday morning to all and Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate.

jan said...

I will take a pic of cake however it turns out. Will also take pics of some flowers around here. Will try to post. Please, would love to see other pics from you all.

jan said...

Chloe, have fun taking it easy. I am so grateful to my son and DIL for having Easter evening dinner. I am so busy taking care of 2 little dogs. The one who is visiting needs walks so I do that. I also do the feeding and opening and closing door to back for visits to the facilities.

jan said...

Renee, enjoy your BBQ burgers and hockey game.

jan said...

Coreen, Miss seeing the beautiful pics of flowers you usually post.

jan said...

I wonder if Chelsea's baby will change Hillary's plan to run for POTUS.

What about Eliz. Warren for VP or POTUS. I bet if Hillary runs, Eliz will support her.

jan said...

Seeing a bio of Eliz Warren. She too is from OK, came from a blue-collar family, was a mother at 19, and divorced at a young age. She is my hero/heroine. I don't pretend to be accomplished like she is, but her concerns for and ideas about families in this country touch me deeply.

jan said...

Chloe, so true! How was your weekend?

Carol said...

Sorry that I haven't been here, verizon wifi was charging me a fortune. Tomorrow I get AT&T. DSL. My bill for this month that is not even over is 810 bucks. Can you believe that?

jan said...

Carol, I believe you of course. That is truly highway robbery. Thanks for sharing that. I think we are going to change our carrier next march when our contract is up. We have not been very happy with our service with Verizon.

Glad to see you back here.

Carol said...

Oh, and I broke another rib. It was all a possum's fault.

I went out to my washer on the porch and there was a possum sitting on a shelf. I tried to scare it off. I even slammed it in the head several time with my pool pole it didn't bridge, probably because it had a concussion. I called Greta and she brought over a couple of BB guns. One was a rifle, pump action air rifle. I tried to pump it and slammed myself in the side of my chest. It shot pain through my chest. The possum was laughing, I think. I gave up the gun to Greta. Ingot a bottle of Clorox kitchen cleaner and sprayed it in the possum's face. It still didn't budge but I gave up because of my chest pain. Haven't seen the possum again.

Now that I have the lyrics to a good country and western song, y'all have to come up with the melody.

Carol said...

I no longer leave cat food on the back prch at night. Chloe's suggestion.

jan said...

good suggestion of Chloe's to not leave cat food. Glad you no longer see possum.

Carol, how is pain control for ribs?

Pain is awful. When I had my knee pain last June and July, I was thinking I would never be pain-free again. Sleeping at night was the worst.

One doc in the box I went to said "keep walking" I wondered what he meant. As time went on I understood. Getting my muscles and tendons and everything back to normal took some time. My gait that I was doing during all this pain affected my left knee. I am now pretty much back to normal. I can walk a mile now with little or no pain - during and after. Not up to 2 miles yet but believe it will happen.

jan said...

Carol, when do we get to see the lyrics to the good C & W song?

jan said...

Carol, are you typing on a computer or pad now.

Carol said...

iPad, it works better now and I can hold it in my lap. . It's light. With the painful ribs, I can't use the laptop

Jan don't you think my possum story would make a good c& w song?

Carol said...

My doc is generous with pain relief but it just doesn't help much.

Carol said...

If my doc ever questioned my injuries , the bone scan with 6 rib fractures and a wrist injury fixed that. I don't think she ever doubted me. I looked too pitiful, I'm down to 111. Pounds and that's after eating 1 to 2 bowls of moo liniment crunch a day.

Carol said...

I have a kind and sympathetic doc. I do think she got a lol over my possum injury She said her brother was also fighting a possum at his house.

jan said...

Carol, now I see about the possum lyrics. Sounds great. If I still had a guitar I would give it a whirl. Anyone else have a guitar or other instrument?

jan said...

Wow Carol. 111 lbs is not much for your height. Have you seen a nutritionist? I would recommend one.

jan said...

You might ask your doc to recommend a nutritionist.

Carol said...

Jan, I'm pretty knowledgable about nutrition. I'm trying to eat healthy. I've cream has never before been in my diet. Before. It's tastier than any weight gain supplement.

RebelliousRenee said...

Carol… sorry about all the pain. At least it does sound like you still have a sense of humor. I used to leave cat food out on a picnic table for strays a long time ago. We quickly developed a raccoon problem.
Stopped the cat food and haven't seen a coon around here in years.

Rick dropped Verizon last year and went with AT&T. We were getting a discount because he worked for HP… but once he retired, our monthly charge almost doubled. Haven't heard of bills like yours in a long time. Maybe you need to call them and ask why.

Carol said...

I had call to bitch to verizon last week. The guy I talked to was perplexed about the bill also. He said he would adjust it. Yesterday I called and through talk computer found that the 820 dollars was a credit.

Carol said...

If you ever feel like life is tough, watch. "Life Below Zero" on NTGEO. It shows several individuals and families who live in the article in Alaska. Wears me out just watching that program and I thank God for Walmart. They have to hunt for their groceries every day and survive extreme conditions. Anyone ever see that show. I watch it every dat along with Alaska State Troopers. I'm fascinated with shows about Alaska.

Carol said...

Waiting on ATT. I haven't got the equipment that was supposed to be mailed here from them, UPS. I hope it gets here before they do or I may not get my new service. Today .

Carol said...

Equipment package shoed up and so did the ATTGuy. Whoopee.

Unknown said...

I have not been watching The Good Wife, but had heard such good things that I watched an episode a couple of weeks ago, and boom - a major character is shot. Bummer.

jan said...

I did watch the Good Wife when 1st began and then began watching something else. It is a good show.

RebelliousRenee said...

Hey Coreen….
my god… did your Yankees put a spanking on my Red Sox or what last night. I didn't watch any of it… not watching baseball right now… watching playoff hockey instead. But listening to sports radio this morning I got the whole scoop. Yeah… I know… last year was a gift and I have to live with whatever happens this year…. damn Yankees! :)

ps… My Bruins are up 3-1 in their series with the Red Wings. One more win and we then we take on the much hated Montreal Canadians for series #2.
Go Bruins!

Carol said...

Hey careen.been playing petescue saga. I noticed that I passed you up the otherbday.

Carol said...

Where are you Coreen.? Are you grieving over you pitcher's 10 day suspension? Maybe he was mowing and ran into a pine tree. It could happen in my yard but I never pitched.

Your boys on on top of the MLB standings again. So are my Braves but a lot can change. As we know.

I've been having tech problems again. Damn that technology.

jan said...

Carol, thought about you. I found some Cadbury eggs at Walgreens for 75% off. Bought 2 and thought about you when eating one.

Coreen said...

Hey no complaints about the start of this baseball season, getting to know the makeup of the team, but there is so much more bb to be played...

Renee, lots of games left, but you know I am happy about the outcome of the first meetings...(oh & what's with those ugly beards, give it a rest already...they need a good barber!)

But looks like your bruins extended your season...good for you & them...

Carol, I see you are playing petrescue...you passed me already...good going...lately the games are taking a long time to load & I forget I was waiting...you started on candycrush too, are you still playing, sometimes the levels are easy to get through, then you can spend weeks on one level, am stuck right now, it's just luck when it all finally comes together...

Coreen said...

From my review of this week's NYT...a real blast from the past...& I was there....

Do any of you remember the 1964 World's Fair in NY...

Looking at the different snapshots really jog my memory...I was a teenager, went there with my friends on several
occasions, then it was easy to jump in the car & drive to NY, & we did!...
Recalling a vision of the future

Coreen said...

And for your moviegoers...2 friends (different groups) went to see 'heaven is for real' and both said they really liked it...

Coreen said...

And since there is no way you haven't heard the latest from the media with another in the line of their never ending he's a racist stories...the owner of the LA Clippers & the alleged recorded conversation with his 'honey'...

It was all over sports talk yesterday & front page of the tabloids & even the venerable NYT has its spin & I'm sure it will continue well at least until the next big thing...

Just listened to the 9 minute audio & while this will not fit into the p.c. take, don't know that he's a racist, but the guy sure sounds like another pathetic insecure old fool...

But what does pop into my thoughts is will he meet the same fate as Paula Dean...

Since he is already a billionaire, not sure what the end result will be, Paula Dean obviously didn't have the personal financial strength to overcome the fallout...

Coreen said...

And here comes more follow up on the NBA Sterling 'affair'...no surprise this guy is/was a vile filthy old pig...who it seems has openly disrespected women in the past (this isn't his first go around with a tossed aside mistress)...

but since sexist behavior is acceptable especially in the world of professional sports...& yes that goes for the athletes, not just the owners, he got away with it...so it would seem the racist charge trumps the pattern of disgusting sexist behavior that this man has exhibited (& yes he is still married)...
NBA has long tolerated Donald Sterling's disgusting treatment of women

Greta,Karen and I took the boat out Saturday to fish. We caught a few little things. I need to find a good crappy hole. Neighbour got my boat ready and off the ramp. He's my surrogate husband. Wouldn't even let mr pay him. Today Greta wants to set some trot lines but weather is suppose to be bad. Most of the bad stuff will be north of here thank you God. Keep your eyes pealed for the rough stuff Chloster. I think it will skirt above you also. We are lucky that we aren't usually in thr path. Nowhere to hid this far south. TW said we were going to get some cool weather again at the end of the week. It's been quite warm. aCs are going full blast. My new roomy is having mega hot flashes. I'm glad I'm over that.

jan said...

Carol, be careful.

The places we lived have been hit by tornados. Mayflower, AR and Baxter Springs KS are within 20-30 miles where we lived before moving to NM. We have family within 5 miles of Mayflower. I taught in Conway, AR.

jan said...

Baxter Springs is close to Miami OK. Miami is where I was director of a nursing program.

jan said...

Carol, fishing sounds fun. Glad you are back to doing things you love.

jan said...

Quapaw Ok is 10 miles from Miami OK. Too close for comfort. Glad I am not there. Miami is only 20 miles from Joplin MO where a huge tornado hit a few years ago.

Coreen…
Donald Sterling along with a basketball team also owns lots of apartment buildings. He's had multiple lawsuits filed against him for discrimination… one of which was the biggest real estate lawsuit ever filed. He settled out of court… and IMO, the old adage of where there's smoke there's sure to be fire applies here. Yup… I agree, he's an old insecure guy with lots of money to throw around.

I'm hearing he's bought the "girlfriend" many cars, a lavish house and lots of other goodies. And she of course, has gladly accepted being the kept woman who's only a fraction of his age. She's the one who made the recordings we're all hearing now. IMO, she's set him up.

I wouldn't hold up either of these two human beings as being upstanding or moral. This whole thing looks, feels, and smells like a soap opera.

Unknown said...

Wow, Carol... it is so good to see you feeling so good and so on top of things! You are one amazing person, especially with all you've been through.

Itune's want's to sell you stuff (lots of stuff) more than anyone I've ever seen (aside from Amazon).

It can only be one of two problem: One is your sign in: If it recognizes your user name, then check where it asks if you forgot your password, and they'll send a temporary. If it's your user name, then they can also fix that problem with either the phone number you registered with them or the email you used with them. They'll send you what ever info. you need to get back in business.

The second possibility is that you changed the credit card number you registered with them. If that's what it is, signin (if you can) and go to your billing info. and change that... (or you may have to fix 'both').

... one step at a time. When you do that, you can get anything working right.

Unknown said...

... btw, Carol, I rarely worry about weather, unless it's cold!

I met another person from NY the other day (she'd been here for 16 months) and yes, she said the one thing she missed was the seasons... even the snow!

I told her we have seasons here, and she no we don't! She was such a nice, pleasant person and I really enjoyed our conversation. A beautiful smile, to boot.

Carol said...

Chloe, the second season of house of card doesn't even seem related to the first. I can't get into it. What did you think?

Carol said...

CHole, I just figured out that I w's watching the wrong house of cards, the British one.

Carol said...

I was watching the wrong House of Cards.

Carol said...

I found the correct one.

Unknown said...

Ha, Carol. That British House of Cards is old (I think '89). That's why I haven't watched it.

The American 'House of Cards' doesn't really show up like two seasons on Netflix -- it 'looks like' (at least on the way my Netlix loads on my Sharp TV) one long season, something like 26 episodes (off top of my head, not checking). In reality, it is 2 seasons though.

I didn't think I'd like it (being as I am so sick of politics), but I really did. I like the interpersonal relationships in these dramas. Very few of them do a good job with the day to day life.

Unknown said...

I'm watching 'Grey's Anatomy', and love it too. If I get into something, it's always my new favorite. Excellent, excellent, excellent, and there's a lot of them... will keep me going for a long while.
Grey's Anatomy

Unknown said...

... did you straighten out your tech problems?

Carol said...

Chloe, I bought amazon fire TV. Look it up. It sounds cool. I also have some aTT wireless Internet device coming.

Carol said...

I just hope he A tt wireless WiFi works better thanVerizon

Carol said...

I hope Tony is watching his weather. I think there was a tornado seen in his neck of the woods.

Carol said...

I watch everyone's weather

Carol said...

Greta and I have gonefishingalmost every day day. Haven't caught anything but we are getting our sate legs.

Unknown said...

I saw that Fire Tv, Carol. Was trying to figure out if it isn't the same thing as Roku. (?)

Let me know how it works out... I'm too overwhelmed lately to investigate. Once you use it, let me know what it's benefit is.

I think the fishing is a very good thing... good for the soul. We all need a preferred outlet.

Have fun!

Carol said...

Chloe. I bought the amazon fire TV so Greta's son would have some entertainment when he came out to the greenhouse. He doesn't want to come because he doesn't want to leave his computer games. Greta doesn't want to leave him home alone for long and that limits her visiting time

Carol said...

That was suppose to read treehouse not greenhouse.

Unknown said...

arol,
When I read 'Green house', I noticed it right off and thought maybe that's what you were calling it now. I like it.

I told you before that my house is like a Tree house too. I love living up here in the tree's with the birds, etc.

You're going to need good wireless of some type at the camp, if you want Greta's son to like it. If he's playing games, he needs a good connection.

Games are their life, so I understand. Frankly, I probably wouldn't want to spend my days somewhere that didn't have a good internet connection either (unless I just want to get away, and I doubt any kid wants to do that).

Let me know how it works out.
How old is he?

Unknown said...

Take some pictures of the river and tree house and wild life for us, Carol.

I miss hearing what's going on.

Unknown said...

Carol... speaking of green, this has got to be the most dense Spring growth I've ever seen (even for NW Houston).

As I look around out my windows, all I can see is green... can barely see the sky, and can't see the street or anything else. I'm in heaven. Hope you're enjoying it as much as I am.

It's been a little chilly the last few mornings, but things are about ready to go back to normal. I've learned to really love soaking up the heat.

There's a portable indoor hot house sort of thing that was in the Costco catalog a while back... that we're going to get before next winter. That way, when I need a shot of heat, I'll be able to get it. I'm going to go look for it on their website. If I find it, I'll post a link.

Unknown said...

... all this growth has to be from the cold winter we braved our way through. That, and the extra, steady rain we got.

Unknown said...

I found them, Carol! It's the indoor ones that I'm interested in. I may even think about getting it early, so I can make sure they don't sell out... although buying a sauna when it's 90 outside seems a little insane.

jan said...

Hi all.I am here. Have not had anything to contribute.

Carol said...

There is no high speed internet available for my camp nada. I got the att wifi but it's too slow for the amazon fir. I will just have to wait until something becomes available

Unknown said...

Jan, Sorry you don't feel like talking, but good to see you here. Hope you're doing well.

Unknown said...

Carol, We waited years to get DSL out here... just got it a few years ago. I thought we'd never get it and then one day it was here.

Look up ATT DSL online, and it will let you search your zip code and address. Then when it informs you it's not available in your area, it will allow you to add your email address to a list... which then will inform you (by email) the first day it is available in your area.

It'll happen when you least expect it. But in the meantime, an ATT phone will give you a decent connection and is well worth the small cost.

May be best to think of your camp as a get away from high speed technology, now that you have it at your house. Who needs it when you have that beautiful river with the gorgeous red sunrise.

Pictures, please!

A quick peek into what's new in the NYT this week...how about a poll of American's favorite books...

I must admit that of the 10 listed
the few I read were a long time ago...Honestly other than readings of the Bible at mass, I have not read the Bible, or any of the Harry Potter books...

I did read the Lord of the Rings trilogy but not recently, same with Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, Little Women...Don't remember
reading Moby Dick or Grapes of Wrath & as for Gone with the Wind
honestly don't think I read it,
but I do know I really disliked the character Scarlett O'Hara in the movie!...

Not even sure if I could pick a favorite book of all time...
Whither Dan Brown? Poll lists Americans favorite books

Coreen said...

And here's the Harris Poll release of it's findings...

Funny the breakdown seems to show that an awful lot of people everywhere picked Gone with the Wind...do you think that
really might be the movie that influenced the answer...just a feeling!...

Coreen said...

And check out the few comments at the NYT...This one may be on to something!...

"Rab

Sad-- What this tells me is that MANY people have not read anything since the high school requirements"

jan said...

Coreen, I have never read Gone with the Wind. I read Moby Dick and Great Gatsby in school. Read Little Women when I was 13. I cried when Beth died. Read Grapes of Wrath and To Kill a Mockingbird in past 5 years. Had seen both movies but wanted to read the books. To kill a Mockingbird made me cry and Grapes of Wrath made me mad. Have no interest in Harry Potter or Lord of Rings Trilogy. I love a good book more than most anything else.

jan said...

We tell parents that children grow up with a love to read when someone reads to them. I don't remember my parents ever reading to me. I was the only child in my family who enjoyed reading. When I was 10 we moved to the country. We did not have a telephone and I was not interested in playing with my younger brother and sister so books were my best friends.

Coreen said...

Jan, I grew up reading...even went to the library, loved going through the stacks...couldn't get enough of Nancy Drew mysteries...
& to this day I still read mysteries...

jan said...

Coreen, I love a good mystery too. I find an author I like - did this even as a teen - and read all their books. I found Earle Stanley Gardiner in the library, as a teen, and read all of his books. The library was actually my best friend. Thank heaven for libraries. My parents did not buy books.

RebelliousRenee said...

Coreen…
it wouldn't surprise me if in fact most people hadn't read Gone With the Wind and had only seen the movie. Never read it… saw the movie a long, long time ago.

I've read the Lord of the Rings trilogy… but the Potter series is too childish for my tastes.

I've read some of the Bible. I've read the rest of the list. Most recently read The Great Gatsby and To Kill a Mockingbird. My favorite on the list is Moby Dick. I reread it every now and then… I must do so again soon.

Reading is my greatest pleasure in life. Right now I'm reading Amy Tan's latest… The Valley of Amazement. I'm 2/3 of the way through and I really am enjoying it.

RebelliousRenee said...

Jan…
Rick was a librarian when I married him. He worked for a large public library in Massachusetts. I LOVE libraries… but unfortunately a lot of them are having their hours shortened or closed. The one Rick worked at is now open for less hours than the little library we have in this one horse town.

They are trying to change with the times… offering lots of books on tape and the ability to download some on your Kindle. But less and less people are reading.

jan said...

Renee, I too love libraries. We moved often in my early years of marriage and the first place I would look for in a new town was the local library. Usually very easy to get a library card. Libraries have surely changed with the times. I will have to look up Amy Tan's book.

jan said...

Renee, I am about 3/4 through The Goldfinch. What a book! Enjoying it very much.

RebelliousRenee said...

Jan… Amy Tan's new book is very much like Memoirs of a Geisha… only it's about Chinese courtesans… the geishas were Japanese.

Glad you are enjoying The Goldfinch. I often think about Boris…. what a character!
