That's it. See, you were with us and that was taken, with my camera, in our junior year, the year we did that psych thing. You were one of us. Can't deny it.
Hey... I really enjoyed reading your exchanges Carol and Jan. It's funny how we all remember things differently.
I'm still at home. Sorry for the confusion... we are leaving for vacation this coming Saturday, March 2nd. We always take along a laptop. We can connect to the internet in our condo with a local dial-up and ethernet box. I always post over on TM during the week. If I'm able to create a new account, I usually post for that week as "Hot Tubbin' Renee".
Hi Renee. Hope we didn't scare you. I was having fun this morning. I'm sorry I stirred up some sad memories in Jan. I really didn't realize they were sad.
Carol, the memories are not sad now. All of our memories are important because they make up who we are today.
It is good to talk about these events. It is so interesting that we were each so in tune with what was happening in our own lives at the time. I would love to hear from the others to know what they were feeling then.
Is Darlene still at McN? do you ever see Gil or Leslie or hear from Katy?
Darlene has been gone for as long as you have. I never see any of the rest of them. I used to hear from Katy ever year around Christmas. Haven't in the last several years.
Renee, Yes, we see our pets as our babies now too. Would love to see a picture of your 3 babies.
We didn't have a pet while growing up.
I was never attached to a pet until I was older. Lobie (shepherd mix) was the first one that I felt a real attachment to.
In my previous marriage, we had a golden retriever. We got her for my youngest son and we had a grey cat. My ex took both of them when we divorced. He was by far the best parent to them. I was not home much.
Lobie was a stray that came to our yard when we lived in NW AR. My husb and I were both terrible close to her and cried a million tears when she died. We are the same way with Ryley now. My sister gave her to us.
I bet Arthur lost weight that summer. He was keeping a lot of balls in the air with Katy and his wife that next year. That will make you lose weight. I have read that some people lose weight when they are in love too.
Don't mean to talk about Arthur since he is no longer alive, but since I seldom saw him after that summer and certainly not since his death, it does not seem real to me.
For anyone else looking at that pic. I am on far left in red pants. Darlene is next, then Arthur, Katy, Gil is sitting in the car, then Carol and last on far right is Leslie.
Carol, this pic was taken in 1971 - so you were older than 19 - I think you were 20 or 21 but still very young. I was 30 and I felt soooo old, compared to you guys. Arthur was my age and everyone else was same age as you.
I've been up, fed all the animals, birds, made my country fried potatoes. I cut up a partially microwaved potato. I saute it with onions, white and green, bell pepper, home grown parsley. Season it all with Tony's spicy cajun seasoning. Ate it all. Ready for my next course. Just got out of the shower. I can multittask.
Our nursing program was housed out at an old air base back then. It wasn't on the main campus at the time. Those are old barracks or office buildings back behind us. The building we were in looked the same.
Yes, I recognized those old buildings. In some ways it was good to be on the old air base because we became even more bonded to each other because we were isolated from the rest of the University and the world. The bad thing was we were isolated from the rest of the university and the rest of the world. We did not have the library nor the cafeteria available to us. In program in which we were isolated in one way, we were then isolated in all ways. The funny thing is we were in 2 different groups that summer and I don't remember any of the people in the other 1/2 of our class - so we also isolated ourselves from even the rest of the class. We were so weird.
Good to reminisce with old friends from time to time...
Glad that both of you 'found' each other again...
I am fortunate to still have 2 close friends from high school that we see regularly...
Sometimes when we see others who we grew up with we remark that 'boy they look old!" & have to remind self that bet that's what they are saying about us!...
I won't be watching the entire Daytona 500. It will last for quite a while. I assume 500 means miles??? That's a long distance. I'll just check in occasionally. Hope they all stay safe. There was a big wreck there yesterday.
Coreen, even if you're not in the mood to chat, we'd like to know that you are still kicking, girl. You can just comment...present. Don't give me anything else to worry about. I'm trying to forget the other stuff that I have on my list.
Dang the car in front has some piece of paper on his grill and his engine is getting hot. Danica is drafting behind him. I don't want her to lose her draft car.
Jan... I'm like Chloe... a bit of a Luddite. When I get back from our vacation I will learn how to upload pictures to this Mac... and learn how to post them here. When I got outside, Rick told me he'd shovel out the bird feeders for me. We got a rare wet and heavy snow.
Carol... nah... I ain't watchin' a bunch of cars go round and round a track. I will be watching my beloved Boston Bruins play hockey. Game starts in about 10 minutes..... Go Bruins!
Didn't read it Renee, but heard it on the FAN earlier today...
Meantime, lost Granderson today with a fractured right arm, out at least 10 weeks...We will need to find a power hitter for sure...
And sorry about that heavy snow...we had only a cold rain yesterday, so you wound up with the brunt of the storm...if you've been around here, you already know I really hate snow...deal with the cold, but snow is nothing but trouble...
I looked in at TM this morning and clicked on the link- Finnegans rainbow. Loved the pics and music. Wish I could put in links like that. I can do pictures that are in my own computer - but still cannot do links. I think I will put in some new pics. I will see what I can find.

I wonder if it was Linda taking the picture?
Did you know that sociologists look at pictures of families and can tell what is going on in a family by the pictures. We were a family.
I don't think this was our junior year, it was our senior year. Arthur was not part of our group in our junior year. We graduated in Aug. 1971.
The psych course was the summer between our junior and senior years.
I think this picture was taken at the end of our senior year.

I pasted this from the last thread.
Notice, Linda wasn't there.
I think Linda was taking the picture.

Hi Renee, Good to see your here.
Amazing. All of this took place 42 years ago.
Carol, you are so much a part of my history and I am part of your's.
The years that we spent together were very important ones to me.

I was the tallest girl in that pic. That's before my hair turned gray. It wasn't long before my hair was 50 shades of gray, but not my life.
Look at Arthur (the man in the white pants in the middle). Doesn't he remind you of John Belushi?
Darlene has been gone for as long as you have. I never see any of the rest of them. I used to hear from Katy ever year around Christmas. Haven't in the last several years.
Look at that dark cloud hanging over us. I think we all commented on that cloud when we saw this picture in 1971.
Jan... I remember your pictures of your Shepherd mix Lobie. What a gentle looking face she had. Your new little one, Riley, is a cutie.
It's really hard to lose a pet. We now have 3 cats from a local shelter... they are our babies.
Arthur was actually quite thin in that pic.
Gonna run now.... it's my job to shovel the snow around and off my bird feeders. The birdies are probably wondering why I haven't done it already.

Renee, be careful with your back - shoveling that snow.

"balls in the air" No pun intended. ha ha.
Don't mean to talk about Arthur since he is no longer alive, but since I seldom saw him after that summer and certainly not since his death, it does not seem real to me.
Hard for me to see Arthur as a "good" person although I am sure he was.
For anyone else looking at that pic. I am on far left in red pants. Darlene is next, then Arthur, Katy, Gil is sitting in the car, then Carol and last on far right is Leslie.

You're right again. I was 20 in August of 1971.I can't count this morning. I would be 21 in Nov.of 1971. Born in Nov 1950. Now, is that correct?
Sorry Carol. I detect a little annoyance in that last comment.
Well, I have enjoyed this little trip down Memory Lane.
Carol, I posted the pic on FB.
Time to eat something. Am getting a little slap happy.
Maybe at myself Jan, but not at you. Don't get paranoid on me.
I've been up, fed all the animals, birds, made my country fried potatoes. I cut up a partially microwaved potato. I saute it with onions, white and green, bell pepper, home grown parsley. But, I am ready for a nap now.
I think the Nascar race starts soon. Go Danica
!

Carol, I posted the pic on my FB page.
There are two NPs in town who were in the other group. Constance Monlezun and Diane Foreman. Those are the only two I remember.
I do remember Constance. Don't remember Diane. Maybe I would if I saw her.
We were pretty clickish back then.
I'm watching Nascar. That's a first for me.
Good to reminisce with old friends from time to time...

Morning Coreen, nice to hear from ya.
I won't be watching the entire Daytona 500. It will last for quite a while. I assume 500 means miles??? That's a long distance. I'll just check in occasionally. Hope they all stay safe. There was a big wreck there yesterday.

Would be terrific if Danica Patrick
wins the daytona...
Can't say we ever went to a nascar event...
But we did go to Englishtown, NJ
for NHRA drag racing...very loud!!...over in an instant!!...
Think Shirley 'Cha Cha' Muldowney...she beat the odds & won with the big guys in the mid 70s/80s...
Danica's number 10. I think she's in a lime green car.
Car # 10.
It's scary even watching.
I'd kinda prefer being in the back, where no one could run over me.
I think they are following too close. I hate that when someone does that to me.
When I ride with some of my young friends, I have my foot on my imaginary brake the entire time.
Renee, are you watching?
195 mph. Yuk.
Jan, you don't look a day older now than you did back then. Just your hair has gotten gray. I look like I've been rode hard and put up wet.
Dang the car in front has some piece of paper on his grill and his engine is getting hot. Danica is drafting behind him. I don't want her to lose her draft car.
Funny Jan, I used to iron my hair to get any kinks out. I put a piece of paper over my hair before I put the iron to it. Good thing.
Geesh Carol, I think your eyesight is going. LOL.
Will check in here to see how the Nascar is going. John is watching something else.
On the other hand Carol, when we knew each other, I started out "old." again ha ha ha.
Don't make me watch it for ya Jan. I was hoping someone, with better nerves, would watch it for me.
Oh shit, cars down. Danica OK.
I have to take a break. Too stressful.
She's leading. She lead a lead for a lap now.
Go girl but be careful
First girl to lead a lap.
Jan... I'm like Chloe... a bit of a Luddite. When I get back from our vacation I will learn how to upload pictures to this Mac... and learn how to post them here. When I got outside, Rick told me he'd shovel out the bird feeders for me. We got a rare wet and heavy snow.

It's in between periods.... Bruins lead 2-1.
Coreen.... did you see this...
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/judge-rules-yankees-baseball-only-evil-empire-223119832--mlb.html
A judge has ruled that the Yankees are indeed The Evil Empire.... LOL! I do have to admit that your team has a good sense of humor...
Didn't read it Renee, but heard it on the FAN earlier today...

Looks like Danica just let them have it in the last few seconds. She was running 3rd. Something stinks.
I think the boys closed her out. When I worked at the racetrack, I saw that happen all the time.
Craig has a more complex blog. He has to pay for it.
With all that complexity, there's a lot more that goes wrong also.
