Steve & Sandy

After writing the last comment about my youngest son and his 1st dog, Sandy, I decided to find the pictures of them as both of them grew up. Here are 5 of the pictures from the time we got Sandy as a pup until she was older. Steve was 13 when they first met (1st pic) and the last was sometime after Steve graduated from HS. Sandy was probably 6 or 7 years old by then. You can see her face is getting whiter.

Thanks for putting up those pics Jan. I love them. You can tell that Sandy kept her pet close.

And this week must be a week for the dogs because ABC did shows all morning for dogs. Every week is a dog week for me.

Who is the guy in the last pic?

Comments I made at the end of last post:

It's still raining but not as hard. I've collected about 2 inches so far. I zeroed it last night before it started to rain.

The NOAA chart has the river going up again to 5.5 on Wednesday. Great..the day I'm suppose to go back to work. Now..I think I can do 5.5.

Never really know what will happen until we get closer to that day. Anything can happen. I'll see what it looks like on Monday and Tuesday before I panic.

Carol, All the pics are of Steve - from the time he was 13 until he was about 19 or 20.

I forget how much it rains there. We hardly get any rain here. I wish we had more rain here but not as much as you have there. ha ha.

Carol, I just put all these pics and more up on facebook. Steve changed a lot over the years. He was a very handsome young man. Do you remember he sucked his thumb when he was a little kid. Well, it took 3 1/2 years of orthodontal work to undo that damage. Sandy died at age 9 of a cancerous tumor in her nose. She was a great dog and Steve's faithful companion. When Steve was gone, Sandy would wait at the front door until he came home. When he was in high school he went on some overnight trips for a school related activity and Sandy would lie in his room and looked so pitiful. Sometimes she would take a piece of paper off his dresser and shred it and leave beside his bed to show her displeasure at him being gone so long. One time she shredded a dollar bill - Steve was not too happy when he got home. But he could not be mad at her.

Darn Jan. I didn't even recognize Steve in that last pic.

Jan..we've had a drought for a while before we started getting all this rain. I didn't have a problem with the drought. I can always water.

Texas really needed the water. They should keep it over on their side of the border.

Have you all the seen the pictures "Dogs against Romney?" There is a cartoon in our paper that has Santorum driving a car and Mitt in a cage on the top of the car. - Talking about something coming back to "bite him on the butt" I would feel sorry for Mitt if I was not laughing so hard. he he he.

It's stopped raining and the chances of rain are down to 10% or less for the next three days. My rain gauge reads just shy of 3 inches. Better than the 7 inches my friend said the weatherman threatened.

The river is up some but not bad yet. It's not due to get high enough to come over the road much until Tuesday.

I see that there might be a brisk north wind in the morning. Now that would be a big plus. A north wind can blow some of that water out.

I might try to go for that "phew" this evening. Added a new reason to need one.
