FYI, Yankees are playing in Toronto...it is 35 & sleeting there, but inside the dome with the top closed it is 72...and they are tied 1-1 in the 2nd...
Coreen, I think Kirsty was using some psychology on the viewers by having John T visit and having Max wear his leather pants and take his shirt off. It think it probably worked also.
Reading thru the DWTS gossip, most thought that Hines was way overscored but liked him anyway. He's very popular. Some feel pity for Petra because she is so sweet. Chelsea is not as popular as I would have thought even though they though she did the best. And they thought that the judges were too hard on KK.
Well, I hope Kirstie stays...I know she isn't the best out there, but sentimental favorite...
Not sure if it was a psychout...but Travolta did some real smooth dancing in Saturday Night Fever...sure you remember him struttin his stuff in that movie...& the white suit!...
Several years back I woke up one morning the proud owner of CDs with 106 disco hits. I had left the TV on all night and an infomercial came on during the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't help myself.
back then we hung at a place called bunyan's in westport...the bar was downstairs, the dancefloor upsatairs, mirror ball included... we were in lawschool about that time...
I remember going to New Orleans with a friend of mine. It was in the late 70s when disco was hot. She had these two gay hairdresser friends who lived there in the French Quarter. They dolled me up and we all went out to this huge very popular gay dance bar there. It was pretty much all men, all good looking men. I realized why I could never find any nice looking men, they were gay. It was my first introduction to that scene.
there was a gay bar just down the road from bunyan's back then as well...pretty well known called the brook, but can't say as we ever went there...wouldn't have appreciated not being paid attention to....
both those places are gone...bunyan's ages ago, the brook just a couple of years ago...
Did you see the cute video Renee put up at TM...not sure how well it really went over, but it pretty well says it all...& it mentions Lionel, a guy I enjoy who is now on NY TV every night doing commentary...but don't think libs really like him... Obama Supporter & the Progressive
Pretty sure they have won every series they played so far, except for the Red Sox, who beat them 2 out of 3 at Fenway last week... if they keep winning series, they will be in good shape...
What did I miss...Romeo was just re-dancing the NY/NT number...Hines is already safe...but that was a no brainer you know...Romeo will also be safe too...not a chance otherwise...
She is a very sweet person and beautiful. It is not as easy to move when you are that tall. And I still say she had the toughest of all dances last night. I think the judges screwed her.
Maybe she just doesn't have a fan base that would keep her in it...After all this is a celebrity/popularity show as well, honestly never heard of her, still not sure what her celeb status comes from...
Not a good 9th inning...Mo has allowed a couple of hits that so far scored 2 runs, now the game is tied at 5 all...& the jays still have 2 outs, men on 1st & 2nd...
1.25 million per month going to the attorney doling out BPs money to the people in the Gulf area who had losses. The people aren't happy with how they are being reimbursed but I bet that attorney is.
I hope the local governments have some arbitrators looking out for the interests of the local people and then charging BP for their services. I don't think I'd trust the dude working for BP who is making a killing.
I really like Anderson Cooper. He often places himself in dangerous and unpleasant situations to cover the news and sticks with the story when others are no longer interested.
He is also not pretentious. He said something the other night about not paying more than 19 bucks for a haircut. Did you know his mother is Gloria Vanderbilt? She raised one fine son..IMO.
I just had a ponder. Yep..I did. Call it an intuition. The Donald is up to somethin. Not exactly sure what it is but he's up to somethin. It could be that he's trying to show the silliness of the conservatives?? That won't be difficult. Might be that he's just having fun with the media. He does seem to adore the attention.
Can't believe he is really that concerned with Obama's birth place but he's attacking that big time. He made a total 360 on the abortion choice issue and his explanation for the change doesn't really hold water. Don't think he needs or would want the grief of running for the presidency even though if his campaign takes off he may follow thru. He does have the igo for it.
I also think all these side shows in the Republican party won't help them. The Dems just need to try to act like the adults..be cautious and responsible..then sit back and let the Repubs self destruct from within.
I also think it would be a great time for a strong third party candidate. I think the American people are over the other two.
And maybe Donald would have been a good candidate for that third party because some of the ideas he had in the past where smart but now that he has tried to adopt the conservative values..it kinda ruined it.
Carol, there's no telling what Trump is doing. Although, I think he'd love nothing more than being the President of the U.S. The man's ego has no bounds.
... whatever he's doing, I'm sure it'll end up making him some money.
(.. am I the only one that thinks it's odd that Obama has been unable to put this birth certificate confusion to rest? -- does anyone else here think it's 'impossible' that the powers that be can not, if they really want to, cover up anything in the world that they want to cover up? I don't have an opinion either way reg. the BC, but I also must say that nothing would surprise me. That's why I don't have an opinion. There's nothing to ponder, because we never have all the facts about anything where power is concerned).
Especially this: "John does not think there is a heaven and hell. He says there is no good evidence for hell." For some reason that surprised me, considering the line of work he is (and was) in. BTW, I agree with him.
Chloe, thanks for the kind words. I think he is a keeper. When I was having the conversation with him about heaven and hell, he said they discussed this issue in his first college course covering the New Testament of the Bible his freshmen year of college. When he was in seminary, he and his peers had already decided that our concept of Heaven and Hell from church/bible was not real. He is not sure if there is an afterlife. He does definitely believe in God and prayer however.
Coreen, thank you for posting the article on the surgeon's resignation. I would like to more about any research that he was referring to. However, to suggest that unprotected sex for college women would be a better valentine's gift was completely irresponsible.
Jan, the first pic didn't go up until I had to guess what it was from the second two pics which started out as the first two pics. Are you following me? Don't make me have to repeat that.
Of course you can tell what it is from the first pic. It was the answer to the pop quiz. I'm not sure you could have guessed with just the other two pics.
This week has been pretty nice and pleasant until this afternoon when the fight club had their meeting. I had to suit up for facial repair. Not sure but think maybe it was due to the full moon last night.
Or maybe it is the return of the heat. My vehicle said 88 on the way home today.

We needed something quick, just in time for DWTS results night...
I thought of these when you Carol mentioned how
hot & humid your day was...that is more than enough clues already....
Hopefully Jan will come in with some more
of her getaway weekend later...
FYI, Yankees are playing in Toronto...it is 35 & sleeting there, but inside the dome with the
top closed it is 72...and they are tied 1-1 in the 2nd...
Windows, the moon and rain?? Am I close?? We could use some of that rain.
Well, you have the moon right....
Or is it fireworks?
No....
A meteor shower?
Or did someone declare war on Conn.? It could be shock and awe.
No...
Not yet anyway...
It's Mother Nature's doing...
Give up?...
Give up.
Wait a minute...I'm adding one more pic to explain it....
Back...it should all be clear in the light of day....Icicles...
Can you see it now?....
Ah ha. It's the icicles. I woulda never guessed.
Not something we are very familiar with around my neck of the woods.
Coreen, I think Kirsty was using some psychology on the viewers by having John T visit and having Max wear his leather pants and take his shirt off. It think it probably worked also.
And those weren't the longest ones either...
You mentioned hot & humid, so I thought I'd cool it off...I have lots of snow pics whenever
you feel its too hot!...
Iit was another rainy day here..
Reading thru the DWTS gossip, most thought that Hines was way overscored but liked him anyway. He's very popular. Some feel pity for Petra because she is so sweet. I liked that he showed up...
From Pure DWTS
The Judges Scores and Percentages
Place Celebrity Score Percentage
1. Hines 27 13.92
2. Chelsea 26 13.40
3. Romeo 26 13.40

5. Kirstie 23 11.86
6. Petra 22 11.34
7. Kendra 22 11.34
8. Ralph 22 11.34
Don't you think that Hines was a little overscored?? His dance was very easy by comparison.
I do remember him in SNF. Didn't that pretty much start the disco era? I loved disco.
And in keeping with my Travolta mood...would you believe its all right at a touch of the keyboard...
He was so Joe Cool...another of my kinda guys... Where is Solar??...we feel like dancing....
Saturay Night Fever Medley

Thanks for putting up the post Coreen.
This week when looking at our star map I noticed that there were a lot of hits on your Passover post from last year. Every day I saw it listed.
just finished the clip of travolta...that movie put him right uo there with gene kelly & mr. smoothist of all fred astaire...
am i missing anyone..
I'm still perplexed over all those stars we have on our map and how the peps they represent end up falling into our swamp?
back then we hung at a place called bunyan's in westport...the bar was downstairs, the dancefloor upsatairs, mirror ball included...
we were in lawschool about that time...
What about the guy who resently died of pancreatic cancer. Can't remember his name..senior moment.
Oh, another classic...Swayze...remember DWTS
winner jennifer gray's partner in what was it's name?
I can see them dancing oh so sexy...she was called baby...i've had the time of my life...but what was the movie's name?
Patrick Swayze....in???
you are not alone in that senior moment...still
can't remember the name....
I cheated & looked it up...dirty dancing...

I realized why I could never find any nice looking men, they were gay. It was my first introduction to that scene.
We did run into one straight couple that night and they tried to pick me up. I said..no thanks.
Oh yes!...Mark Texeira hits a 2 run homer to put the Yankees ahead 4 - 2, sixth inning...
again I can't help it...I love this game...
there was a gay bar just down the road from
bunyan's back then as well...pretty well known called the brook, but can't say as we ever
went there...wouldn't have appreciated not
being paid attention to....
both those places are gone...bunyan's ages ago, the brook just a couple of years ago...
Actually I loved all the attention I got that weekend. The guys did my hair, makeup and clothes. I'd never had that much attention.
I was a tad overdone but it was just for the weekend.
How many games did your Yanks have against the Rangers?? How many did they win?
Did you see the cute video Renee put up at TM...not sure how well it really went over, but it pretty well says it all...& it mentions
Lionel, a guy I enjoy who is now on NY TV every night doing commentary...but don't think
libs really like him...
Obama Supporter & the Progressive
Yankees won 2 out of 3...& it was a cold, rainy
weekend for them to play....
Of course Hines is safe.
I'll check out that video after the show.
Oh, and an overwhelming majority on the DWTS blog didn't care of the America themed night.
Ut oh, I think I might know who's going tonight.
I'm not a big Toby Keith fan. Does that make me unpatriotic?
I knew it.. So sad.
She is a very sweet person and beautiful. It is not as easy to move when you are that tall. And I still say she had the toughest of all dances last night. I think the judges screwed her.
Maybe she just doesn't have a fan base that would keep her in it...After all this is a celebrity/popularity show as well, honestly never heard of her, still not sure what her
celeb status comes from...
She's a model Coreen.
I've never heard of her either. She's probably one of the sweetest of them all.
But then, nice people often finish last. Sad truth.
Carol & Jan, you both might find this of mild interest, since I suspect you have both had some experience with the atmosphere suggested...
Some things never change...a schmuck is a schmuck, surgeon or no surgeon, where do these
guys come from...never mind the utter useless
topic that led to his resignation...
President of Surgeon's Association resigns over offensive
editorial
You are getting too emotionally connected...trust me, she'll be just fine...
Yep Coreen..he's a schmuck!
Did you see this Time piece about the oil spill...
One year after the oil spill
Time to go....its extra innings...not a good sign...Mo had an unusual bad inning...
I hope the local governments have some arbitrators looking out for the interests of the local people and then charging BP for their services. I don't think I'd trust the dude working for BP who is making a killing.
Is that story online?
Oh..I see you left a link..thanks
And Coreen..surgeon's are notorious for being egotistical macho AHs.
AC 360 with Solidad is in Louisiana tonight reporting on the Oil Spill progress. Anderson's program has been very attentive to La.
Sorry Coreen.
Coreen..your BP story link goes to the NYT's surgeon story.
Here's the link to the BP story:

Nice seeing the icicle pics, Coreen. Love that wall of windows too!
I think the heat down our way is here to stay -- until about October or so, so we've already put away our winter clothes 'til then.
Carol, there's no telling what Trump is doing. Although, I think he'd love nothing more than being the President of the U.S. The man's ego has no bounds.

Jan, I enjoyed reading about Johns views.
Especially this: "John does not think there is a heaven and hell. He says there is no good evidence for hell." For some reason that surprised me, considering the line of work he is (and was) in. BTW, I agree with him.
You got yourself one great husband there, Jan - and he has himself the greatest wife around. Love you both.
Chloe, thanks for the kind words. I think he is a keeper. Coreen, I like your pictures. The 1st time I saw the 1st pic I had decided these were icicles. But did not recognize them in the next 2 pics.
Coreen, thank you for posting the article on the surgeon's resignation. I would like to more about any research that he was referring to. However, to suggest that unprotected sex for college women would be a better valentine's gift was completely irresponsible.

And tell John, I'm really sure their is an afterlife. The experiences I had after mom died pretty much convinced me.
New Modern Family tonight. Don't forget to either watch or record.
New post time....
Carol, I would not have guessed the icicles from the last 2 pics. Didn't know the 1st pic was not up in beginning.
